Source? I heard rumblings they wanted Fannin, which only further illustrates my point - another 6’2/6’3 235-240 lb guy who shouldn’t be in-line blocking - let’s make him in-line block.

Howie said they tried to trade up and someone else reported at the time it was for a TE and someone else reported they wanted Fannin in round 3. So I'm sure they tried to trade up in both rounds 2 and 3.

Reporter: did you expect growing pains with the new play caller?

DeVonta: you're gonna get that every year. It's only week 2 of the season. You have things you have to iron out. You're gonna get that every year regardless, no matter it's the same OC or not.

Even if they got fannin jr i remember reading that he’s not a very good blocking tight end. He is a good pass catcher.

People were accepting the rust because it's the beginning of the season but we had important games for seeding at the beginning this year

Didn't Hurts fumble and we recovered? Makes sense it's not counted in the stats but it still happened

It wasn't a turnover.

@Saltpeter i guess he’s off the table now

I know. He still fumbled the ball. It's one of those things the stats won't show

Can only imagine Hill and rice terrorizing the Kansas City community off the field together

Wouldn’t surprise me if it happens. Dolphins could be in "sell mode” within a week or two.

Should call the giants and ask about Jameis Winston. He might throw 40 tds with Higgins and chase but also throw 40 picks

Issue from previous reports is hill’s now ex wife reported multiple incidents of domestic abuse so he might eventually get suspended. Dolphins should’ve dealt him in the offseason after he was a diva at the end of last year

Lmao..

Man I hope Howie trades for Ward. Or just brings back Rogers

Well, some thoughts after a weird game -- I didn't see most of the 1st quarter thanks to the LA Fox affiliate sticking with the Giants/Cowboys game while Sunday Ticket was blacked out claiming the game was on my local Fox station, and a game I thought we'd lose turned into a moderately frustrating win.

OFFENSE

  • Yeah, this play calling needs to change and become a LOT less obvious. The number of times I yelled at my TV not to run into an 8 or 9 man front, only to see Jalen hand it off, was discouraging. It feels like maybe they are doing it hoping Saquon breaks through and houses it, but that's not a good strategy. I don't know if they are limiting Jalen's ability to audible, but our offense is just so predictable based on formation.

  • Jalen -- it was a solid game where he protected the ball and made the one big play when he had to. There aren't plenty of guys open where he won't pull the trigger; there's just nowhere to go with the ball way too often.

  • 10 total drives -- 5 successful (2 TDs, 2 FGs and killed clock) and 5 unsuccessful (punt). Felt much worse than that

  • Barkley played well and got basically every yard out of the play calls

  • DeVonta almost made the jump ball catch in the 1st half (play where he got hurt) and then made the huge play in the second half. AJ's catch on the FG drive before the half falling down was amazing. Would be nice if we could stretch the field more vertically and horizontally with them.

  • Thought the line played well and gave Jalen time. Steen continues to hold up well and remove concerns.

  • Calcaterra needs to add to the passing game given his terrible blocking

DEFENSE

  • Moro Ojomo played an excellent game -- plenty of pressure and got his first regular season sack.

  • Jordan Davis has another really solid game as well -- played over 50% of the snaps, 5 tackles and 2 passes deflected. The pass deflections have become a real weapon.

  • Smith and Uche as backup edge rushers is making me feel a lot better than I did in TC

  • Campbell and Baun were all over the place again

  • Mukuba went from the lows (trucked by Mahomes, BS holding call to offset a sack that they announced on Q) to the ultimate highs (3rd down stop, INT). Going to be fun to watch him continue to grow

  • Adoree Jackson...was better, but that's a low bar. Still think Bennett needs to play.

SPECIAL TEAMS

  • Jake being back to form is huge

  • Hated our coverage and return efforts in this game

All in all, a win is a win. And the defense is answering questions quickly given the offseason losses. If the offense can figure it out...

I think the league would wait until there were actual charges filed (other than civil suits) and even then investigate the accusations.

Ex-wives have a tendency to want more money etc - so from the outside looking in, it could be that. On the other hand, it could be more serious - so that’s why I would think the league would need to investigate it prior to any suspensions etc

Final Chiefs Game Prediction Results

@just relax with a prediction of Eagles 23 and Chiefs 17 gets the win this week.  A total of 55 predictions were recorded with 46 for an Eagles win and 9 for a Chiefs win.  The average predicted score was Eagles 28 Chiefs 22.

3 Bonus predictions ... possibly 5 ... were correct.

@EagleJoe8 with "Hurts 1 Tush Push TD"

@EaglesIreland with "Defense comes up big and is the difference"

@pgcd3 with "Mukuba INT"

The two possibles are @MR-CYN with "Back and forth nail biter" and @joemas6 with "Nolan Smith drops into coverage less than 3 times" If anyone has thoughts about the correctness of those two predictions, please post them in a reply.

Here is a visual of the final list of predictions.

Because the stat is a turnover and it wasn't a turnover.

The stats do show that though. They distinguish between fumbles and fumbles lost. This line of debate started when someone posted that the Eagles don't have any turnovers. You have been harping on a fumble that was recovered, and not a turnover.

I was "harping" on a fumble. People took offense to it 🤷‍♂️

I believe the nfl is already investigating it

There you have it. I would put in odds in Hill’s favor since there have been no criminal charges filed.

Not offense, just clarity. You posted at least twice that the stats don't show fumbles, and I showed you that they do. You also posted repeatedly about the fumble in response to the no turnover stat, as if to tarnish that by saying well it could have been a turnover. Lots of plays could go the other way, thankfully that one didn't.

Kind of think with his past transgressions it’s not a given he doesn’t. It’s also reported as 8 different instance and not just 1. Also goodell will do whatever he really wants.

Frankly doesn’t help the NFL’s image when National organization for women has been hounding the nfl about him not being suspended.

Not tarnish but I'm not surprised it came off that way. Oh well

Isaiah Rodgers has played about 97.5% of the Vikings snaps. He's not a depth piece they are wanting to trade.

He was ranked 89th out of 119 CBs in week 1 by PFF.

He is not a hero. He was fine in limited duty in a defense that had a great secondary around him. Let it go.

Tyreek Hill abused his child.

The NFL could not prove it because the wife would not talk.

She admitted his guilt on a hot mic at an airport security area IIRC.

If she talks this time they can suspend him for her and make it extra long for prior acts.

They can show the pattern back through college (but not suspend him for anything he did in college)

This may seem unfair but Goodell does not like being lied to and he has stupid overreaching ultimate power.

Hill could take it to the courts, but he would eventually lose. Goodell got a guy suspended for air pressure witchcraft and not wanting his phone data leaked.

Proof of him lying in the previous case absolutely could apply. There are no US criminal court double jeopardy protections in the NFL.

LAR I'm familiar with but DEN looks decent offensively, they can scheme guys open. Nix had a INT on a ball tipped by the DL, but otherwise looked comfortable and confident. Their defensive line looks good enough to cause problems, but they play a lot of man coverage. That might be a Danny Dimes feature, but I'd think we have the guys to beat C1 or scramble behind it.
