DG has some dead money too so Howie has to decide when he wants to eat that. Think he has played well and could return on a team-friendly deal. We need to draft his replacement either way.

To avoid that, they need to extend him before the new league year starts in March. If he tests FA, we are stuck with that cap hit.

The one thing I’m curious about is if they put Smith out there for a drive or two and try to get him his 1,000 yards. He’s only about 40 away and they have done it in the past with him, although I believe that was to set the rookie record.

100%. I think they spam him on the 1st drive and get him out of there.

Doubt Smith plays at all, nor do I think he should.

If Barkely sits with the all time rushing record on the line (which I agreed with), then no way am I putting Smith out there to simply achieve 1000 yards, which is pretty meaningless in todays game.

If it's about incentive in the contract, just pay it and move on.

I think they give the old man the day off, but wouldn't be opposed to BG taking a couple snaps. I expect Uche to play damn near every snap.

IMO, BG is DE4 and needs to be treated as such. Hunt and Smith are more important to this team.

But I guarantee those two will play snaps and BG won’t.

BG will have plenty of time to rest in retirement, the backup defense can use his veteran leadership on the field.

This has to be the week they cut AJ Dillon right? They need bodies and he's useless. Some guys they could use for Sunday are out of elevations.

All this waxing poetic about start/sit strategies is crazy to me. The Commies are starting JOSH JOHNSON at QB. Backups are gonna feast.

That would make sense, but he’ll probably get the most carries. They need to save Tank so that he can get zero touches in the playoffs.

Guess BG is playing. Or thinks he is playing.

I think some fans lose sight of the fact that this isn’t like the final preseason game when you have ninety players on your roster and you can play the entire game with second and third teamers. You can only dress 47 guys so a number of starters will have to be in uniform. And some of the guys who actually play meaningful snaps during the season will have to play at least a little bit.

I’m curious if there will be any Trevor Keegan revelations this year. If you’ll recall, Keegan didn’t see the field in the finale last year until the second half even though everyone kind of assumed he’d be playing the whole game seeing as he was a fifth round draft pick. In hindsight, I think that revealed that they weren’t quite as high on him as they had been initially and that ended up being proven when he was cut this year. So if guys like Ty Robinson and Mac McWilliams (who they seem to have gone out of the way to NOT play this year) don’t play all that much on Sunday, we should maybe come to the conclusion that they’re not really all that. I also think it would be kind of nice if we see Robinson actually defeat a block at some point in the game. I’m not sure that’s happened at all this year.

I understand Goedert isn’t what he was 3 years ago but he was never great, just a good solid, all-around player. I can’t imagine the price tag for keeping him another year hinders filling holes at other positions. I also don’t see a scenario where there’s a draft pick or FA that costs less and equals his production.

I think he’ll have one more season of above average TE play at a very reasonable price.

Then you can draft a guy late 2, early day 3 and hope he’s ready to be the guy in 2027. Easier said than done but that’s my train of thought.

His TDs in the red zone are an anomaly this season. He typically produces around 3 TDs a season and around 650 yards. I think it's pretty easy to replace that production.

Barkely was asked if he wanted to play and get that record. He said let the other RBs play. He opted out for that one but did get the full season record including the playoff.

How much Smith wants to reach 1K mark is unknown to us. He may value it more or less. Agree with you if for the incentive, the FO can handle it easily.

So unimpressive. Honestly if he's not getting 30+ total TD's per season, then we would have much bigger problems.

He hasn’t played most of the year. So not terrible for him.

That's not how it went down with Barkley. He was asked if he wanted to stay in during the NYG game.

He was not given a choice in week 18.

Theres a little bit of a difference though. If Saqoun was going after the record, that means your starting O-line needs to play, Hurts probably has to play, some skill guys would have to play etc.

If they decide to let Smith try for whatever reason, it’s really just him that needs to be out there.

We don’t know that. Sirianni may have asked him. Further, with much of the OL out he may have considered that as a factor.

I have a question for everyone. If the Eagles are not playing in the Super Bowl, is there any possible matchup where you would be rooting for the NFC team?

For me, the Bears would probably be the only one I’d root for, unless they play the Bills (or maybe the Chargers.)

If the Ravens (who I generally hate) were the AFC team, I would maybe root for the Panthers or Packers.

But overall, I’d say there is a very strong chance I’m rooting for the AFC team this year if the Eagles aren’t in it.

Usually it was Packers but after their whining.. I just can't anymore

Probably will be an AFC team

I take pleasure in watching the Bills lose every year. Their fans have infested this entire country, and I find it funny when they choke every single year. I will be rooting for any team that plays the Bills.
