I dont know exactly what Sirianni does but I'm sure he contributes to the team. I'm guessing he's probably involved in the offense structure and scheme, game planning, position coaching to an extent, among other things.

Do you honestly think if he contributed nothing to the team that Lurie would keep him?

Now granted he didn't do a great job this year. He had an OC in place that was out of his league. Thats on Nick. The teams identity since he's been here is running the ball. That has been a struggle all year. O-line has had injuries and the threat of Hurts running this year has been non existent.

Patullo will be the change and possibly AJ. If you’re expecting more than that then you’re not being realistic.

This has to be the best play in your playbook and they called their third timeout for this, which essentially meant the Niners could run out the clock.

I misspelled it on purpose so it didn’t get edited out. I guess it’s not on the list of bad words

That same defense got two second half interceptions and another stop with a bad punt that gave the Eagles offense fantastic field postion 3 times.... The offense walked away with a total of 3 points. So no... I don't think it's letting the defense off the hook to put about 95% of the blame for this loss on the offense.

Cool. We agree that the offense sucked. You’re just wrong about the defense being Super Bowl caliber today.

I’m not asking for Harbaugh. Of Campbell had Vic fangio and our offense, I bet he wins 3 super bowls in a row. Lions offense was ranked 5th in the league in yards, 3rd in passing, 4th in points. If we had that kinda creativity with Vic, we in easy

Too bad he made a bunch of bad 4th down calls that gave other teams easy scores. Also, stop sidetracking, I asked you what they did well. Exactly what did they contribute to their teams?

And for that matter, especially before 2025, what did Campbell contribute that you had clear evidence of to their team?

The point that I'm getting at is in the vast majority of situations, if a head coach doesn't call plays, you don't know what they contribute. That doesn't mean they contribute nothing, that means you, a fan, who is an outside, do not know exactly what is and is not contributed by them. This is normal if you're not one of the arrogant dopes who thinks being a fan means you know everything about the team. You don't.

Who does the gameplan? What people do what parts of the gameplan? Is it done all by one person or broken into chunks? Who designs the full scheme? Who tweaks it? Does someone tweak it? Who does installs? Are they done as a group? Who does what they do in practices? How they practice? Who sets up the audibles? The language? The checks? Route concepts?

You know exactly none of these things. Fans are obsessed with play-calling because it's the thing they can definitively prove, thanks to the cameras showing the person holding the play sheet in front of his mouth. But in reality, there's WAY more that goes into NFL offenses and defenses, and if you really thought hard enough, you'd know that. You really think that the difference between Vic's defense and Sean Desai's defense is only that Fangio is a better playcaller? Stop kidding yourself.

You don't understand what NFL coaches do and don't do well, unless they're quality play callers, or their role has been clearly defined. So stop asking loaded questions - is what I'd say, but I'm sure you'll continue anyway, since confirmation bias.

Purdy also had two potentially game changing interceptions.

Hurts made a few really good throws too. AJ dropped a couple big ones. The pass to Goedert on first 4th down of the last drive was excellent. He looked really good until they got to the RZ where they had nothing all night.

Purdy trusts his scheme and know where to go. I don't think Hurts trusts the scheme at all and probably with good reason. I think thats why he is back to bailing from clean pockets where he actually wasn't doing that early in the season.

Neither were particularly good. This is the first game i noticed hurts checking a lot though, and every single time he either ran Saquon into a wall or read the D wrong.

That's what people said about Wentz

Yeah... Howie is truly a wizard when it comes to those things, so I can't say it can't happen. But it seems unlikely. Then again, I also said the same thing about Demarco Murray and Byron Maxwell, and he got them traded off too.

That's a Lurie problem too. He got too emotional and completely forgot the lesson he had to learn with Doug.

Should have thrown to Smitty. I'd trust him 1on1

Sixers blow a late lead and lose by 1 in OT. Getting beat up on all sides today.

Ya know I’m not even mad. Saw two Super Bowl wins (one last year) after watching this team choke year in and year out like they did today. It stings a lot less that they are a two time champion

Hurts in no way outplayed purdy. He was terrible with his checks almost all night.

But, he didn't turn the ball over... that's the only thing that seems to be the measuring stick for him these days.

I don't trust the one throwing

He can't move, I did not like seeing how stiff he was.

Either could almost every pocket passer - including Tom Brady - obviously he's not Tom Brady but their mobility is similar.

Prove that it was John Harbaugh that caused that to happen, especially when his coaching credits are special teams and defense? That could just be Lamar being better than Jalen right?

....Except in the playoffs, clearly.

Oh you misunderstood. I was saying Lamar saved Harbaugh from being fired years ago

Such a big missed call - the refs were awful and about as one-sided as I have seen in a long time

Some position coaches might need upgrading too.

So much this.

You are not firing Siri for anything other than he was on probation in 2023 to 2024 and what he did this year was to overextend himself as he damaged the company through Nepotism.

He earned the right to try it.

He deserves to face the consequences for trying it.

Hurts hit AJ Brown in the hands and it would have been like a 50 yarder. If it makes you guys feel better to make Hurts out to be some bum, so be it.

But he looks like a lot of "good" QBs when they have ish coaching.

I like Hurts, but his team had the ball at the 40+ yard line 3x in the 2nd half, 2x by turnovers and they scored six points. He didn't play well tonight when we really needed him to do so. His legs couldn't help him, made some good throws combined with bad decisions. The first long ball to Brown was short and into coverage. Second long ball was a good throw and should have been PI. If Brown not held up there it's a great play. It's not that Hurts is a bum, he just didn't play well.
