I wonder if they could player for player trade AJ for another malcontent wr?

Seems like a lot of people saying AJ will be and should be traded. I’ve said multiple times that AJ is heavily on the downslope.

But this pass offense is horrible. What happens when you take a 1,000 yard receiver away from an already horrible passing offense?

You want to neglect the OL and draft a WR round 1? We can’t afford to buy one. Who he hell is going to be wr 2 on this already terrible passing offense?

Anyone who has eyes should have seen that the offense went downhill then moment they tried to appease AJ Brown this season.

Although the offense was never great - they were doing "enough” to win games - they were beating the better teams on the schedule - even though many of the wins "looked ugly” they were still wins.

Then the AJ drama played out - they decided to start going to him on a regular basis - and the losses began to Pyle up.

This is what happens when you put one player above the team.

Where would our OC job rank? The Lions have to be first. Sounds like the Chargers job is opening, and then you have all the open HC jobs that will need a OC.

Most of the former HCs will get a new HC job. There just aren’t a lot of good options of guys who weren’t HCs

Clown on and off the field

Brown deserved a kick in the ass last night, he didn't give 100% on two plays in the same drive, you throw Smitty that long pass that AJ didn't track in the wind and maybe he doesn't catch it, but I know for damn sure he'd have laid out and dived to try and catch it even if he knew he was getting a kicking on his way down.

AJ has been bad vibes most of the damn year and truth be told he could've had a rocket off coach in a few games this year, instead they bent over backwards forced the passing offense through him, to the detriment of Smitty and Goedert who were both on career year pace in terms of yards when we did it and the offense went backwards because of it, and he still sulked 75% of the year.

2nd, and possibly first for some

Remember the no talent "and we were catching them, unlike Agholor” offense? That offense could move the ball better than this one.

So… are we losing Christian Parker?

It is my belief that Jalen Hurts will complicate the OC search. Guys like Mcdaniels want to run a certain offense and Hurts may not have what it takes for them to run their blueprint. I understand that Hurts led offenses have gotten 2 OCs HC jobs. It’s also gotten 2 OCs fired. He’s limited with scheme and I really think some of these more creative guys aren’t going to want to hitch their wagon to that.

Everyone said the same thing when they hired Kellen Moore.

What great coordinators do - as did Moore - is adapt their scheme in order to fit players strengths.

Moore did it all the way to the Lombardi.

Here's the Eagles FA list to consider for resigning, releasing, etc.:

  • TE Dallas Goedert

  • S Reed Blankenship

  • DL Jaelan Phillips

  • ED Azeez Ojulari

  • WR Jahan Dotson

  • DL Brandon Graham

  • P Braden Mann

  • ED Joshua Uche

  • TE Kylen Granson

  • G Matt Pryor

  • LT Fred Johnson

  • RB A.J. Dillon

  • LB Nakobe Dean

  • ED Ogbonnia Okoronkwo

  • G Brett Toth

  • FB Ben VanSumeren (RFA)

  • QB Sam Howell

  • TE Grant Calcaterra

The only players on that list I want to see back are Braden Mann and Fred Johnson.

I’d think so this time

Man, Jaelen Phillips really fell off. He’s been real quiet over the past month or so.

If McDaniel can make Tua lead the league in yards he can coach Jalen.

Will we net use the talent we do have to closer to the best of their abilities? In my opinion, no question. That’s worth being optimistic about.

imo i don’t think that’s a definitive no question. The pass offense was inconsistent in 2024 and Moore was an experienced OC and did some great things when he was here (and with a rookie Qb in NO). They could away with it cause they had a historic run game so easier to throw less and be efficient when they needed to be. I don’t think they used the talent in the pass offense close to its abilities for a while. Let’s go back to 2023, someone mentioned last night the complete collapse defensive tailspin after making Patricia the DC overshadowed that the passing offense also began being predictable and also declined.

Basically, when I am getting it, and it doesn’t matter who you blame, the Eagles have an issue maximizing their passing game for a couple years now. It’s never been where it should be. It isn’t just a 2025 thing. When you are inconsistent week to week and finish 30th in 2024 (can say they threw less due to the rushing attack but there were times the pass offense just looked out of whack. also pointed out with video evidence of this with Moore at OC ) and then wildly inconsistent in 2025 finishing slightly better at 23rd (far less efficient as i think harder to be highly efficient when rushing attack is average) then you got a fundamental issue with your passing game.

While I hope just getting a new OC would help improve this dramatically and maximize our players better, i don’t think it is necessarily a given with the passing game. Patullo is completely inept so it got exposed far more. However I feel like there’s a far deeper rooted problem that a new OC can try to cover up the symptoms of but that doesn’t fix the root problem.

Also could have a OC that actually does fix it but that doesn’t mean you are going to have the same luck where over the past two years the eagles didn’t have many significant injuries unlike a team like the niners.

I’d sign Reed, Mann, and give Uche a low offer. Would let the rest walk.

Bang for his buck, Howie had a rough year. We burned quite a bit of resources big (a 3 for Phillips) and small (trades for Johnson, Alexander, Bennett, cap space for Ojulari that cost us a comp pick, trading for Michael Carter, etc.

I’ve watched that play a half dozen times - there was no one open - they called verticals against zone and every receiver was under neath - no chance of anyone getting open. That play is designed for receivers to blow past zone 20-30 yards downfield - not within the red zone underneath.

Craziest play I’ve ever seen called in that situation.

What are you talking about? Those were not go routes. The receivers did exactly what the play called for against a zone. Run 10-12 yards straight ahead and turn around. That is how insane the play calling has been this year...it is totally inept. Against zone, the players should be instructed to move to gaps if they are running such a simple, mindless play...instead...they literally run to a defender and turn around. The season was on the line and that is the best this fool OC has? Yes...it is that bad...and the scary part is this play has been the bread and butter play all season long. The brain trust absolutely needs to make an example of this clown first thing this morning..time is ticking as far as I am concerned.

They need to get a move on with the firings so they can start scheduling interviews with the top names

Feel like him playing 17 straight weeks may have contributed to that. If the eagles didn’t sit him week 18, he’d have played 19 straight games. Do think he played well at Buffalo. Had a sack, FF and a TFL

I’ll say this… if we would have lost to Green Bay or LA yesterday I can honestly say today I’d probably feel nothing. Relief probably because the season was over. But because it was the Whiners that’s what has riled me up so much.

Switching gears from the putrid offense.

Who's to blame for the utter failure on defense last night? Did Vic fail to adjust? Did the Eagles players just underestimate the ability of players on the 49ers?

How the hell does DeMarcus Robinson go 6 for 111? Granted the majority were on 2 catches, but he made big catches when it was important.

Kyle Juszczyk is a 34 year old fullback and there was no answer for him. He's been a great FB over a decade, a player I wish the Eagles would have targeted in FA a few times, but he was the 4th or 5th option last night and had 4 catches for 49 yards, a healthy 12.3 YPC. He didn't eclipse 40 yards in a game all year. AJ Brown WISHES he had those numbers last night.

Was this a failure on Vic not adjusting the defense? Was it Blankenship, Baun and Dean just failing to match up athletically?

The 49ers were absolutely depleted on offense and they put up 23 on the Eagles defense. 1 sack, 2 QB hits. Backups making big plays when it mattered.

I think this has been touched on a bunch but trading AJ isn't feasible this offseason. Despite the game he had, I don't think a downgrade at WR is a fix for the team. They need to fix the coaching staff, add depth to the o-line and fix the TE position.
