Wouldn't have happened unless Moore completely redefined Jalen as a QB, switching the OC doesn't make the OL suddenly healthy enough to keep the same level of running performance, which is the only reason the 2024 offense was decent at all.

A-Aron……is basically Jason Peters (this hurts because JP is one of my fav players of all time). Arguably one of the best to play at any given position, but you can’t retire on time. AR will get a lot more love because of his position and for sure still 1st ballot HOF, but should honestly be penalized and kept out for a bit. I just thought about this, the last two games where the starting defense played (Buffalo and SF), in the 4 quarter of the last 2 games they gave up 26 points (4 tds) on 6 possessions, 1 punt and a turnover. I think this is less about them not being able to finish and more that I think they began just running out of gas.

Imo I think the offensive ineptitude in the games was an issue and hurt them by having to play more snaps. As D gave them a chance to put the game out of reach and couldn’t. But I also think there was a long-term accumulative effect of the defense playing the snaps they did from Green Bay to the Chargers game. At some point it felt like the bears game where offensive ineptitude and accumulation of playing more and more snaps may eventually be their demise.

The thing that irritates me with moving Pattulo back to the passing game coordinator is the passing games has been an issue since the Niners game in 2023. Furthermore it wasn’t great in 2021. So 4 out of the 5 years it’s been an issue with him holding that title. So him being the passing game coordinator didn’t help the passing game outside of 2022. Then he became the OC and the passing game got even worse. Maybe he’s just not cut out for either title

People keep forgetting to realize that the O-line did not play at the level it did last year. Yes Patullo shouldn't have been OC but just saying that Moore is still here and we win is lazy thinking.

If Moore was still here, whether as OC or HC, maybe we beat SF. Doubt we're beating the Rams and Bears with how the O-line was playing, especially run blocking.

I like McDaniels and would want him. But i do think his offense did have its struggles against better opponents. He scored 23 points or more in 8 of 27 games vs. playoff teams. Was held to 20 or under 20 in 17 of 27. Some of that is his roster and injuries. I know that accounts for some of it. Here are the points scored against playoff teams

If he called the red zone plays this season, then make him red zone czar.

New OC may be a bit pissed about that, though.

The Eagles had a big TOP advantage against the Niners. Defense still let them right down the field to score at the end.

Considering we have a notoriously overemotional fanbase, it's usually for worse. In this case, I don't like that move either.

Eagles fans only see coaches as people rather than cogs in a machine when they get past a certain level of perception (in this era, it wasn't always like this). They don't understand things like how if you decided to get rid of him once you won the Super Bowl, you could have caused several people, including Vic, to just outright quit. Imagine being someone who, in a competitive job space, lands exactly what your goal was against the 31 others in the world who could, fending off the thirsty blood suckers. You do exactly what's asked of you, even if the ask is hilariously difficult (to secure your job), and they just tell you 'thanks for that, but nothing was enough, you're fired'.

I'm sure every person here who's suggested that was the answer, would love working for an employer like that.

And no, saying 'for millions of dollars' doesn't help much because most coaches of that caliber will make outstanding money even in towns that don't have that kind of expectation.

The only nice thing about Mike McDaniel is that there's only two outcomes that come from him. Either he turns Jalen into a QB that can play fundamental football, or Jalen gets exposed for being unable to do so. People talk about easy button plays and you're going to get a lot of them there. If Jalen fails in that kind of system as a passer, there is literally no one else to blame. No one.

That's the good thing.

The bad thing is, likely unpromotable to Head Coach because last time that happened, Vic left, even if you scapegoat Sirianni and try to bring him in via interim.

So let's say you're hired as oc for the Eagles tomorrow and you have never done the job before. Next season it's pretty clear that other teams are exposing you (you should know). Wouldn't you do everything in your power to learn including asking for help from people that have done your job? Or would you keep on trying the same thing all season, knowing you're headed for a fall at some point?

I’d also add that they had a future HOF Qb, who made players around him better. He was also clutch when the game was on the line. Gotta give him his props IMO…
