Back to the Eagles, you don't think they would actually be done at TE and go into the draft with Calcaterra and Mundt? What an absolute crap show nightmare that would be. Until/if they sign a legit number 1 TE I am officially concerned.

No I suspect Calcaterra took a nothing deal to stay.

Happy with woolen. Would be interested to see if we go after Crosby at a lower price now vs what the raiders wanted

I'd love to get into the Maxx discussion but what's the medical 1, and 2, I'm not giving up two firsts. Damn I don't even want to give up any firsts honestly. Cowboys are still interested they're saying on NFL Network.

Well... maybe because it also wouldnt make much sense to go in to the draft with 3 TEs on the roster. Cause if youre looking at Klare or Delp in round 2, or Raridon in round 3 it might be nice to select one of them.

Something else-

If Howie was really going to accept a TE who cant block after his comments about neglecting that skill, why Calcatera instead of drafting Stowers? Absolute beast.

Ravens Earn 'A' Grades for Maxx Crosby Trade

On the weekend prior to the start of the free agency frenzy, which begins today with the NFL's legal tampering period, the Ravens shocked the NFL world by reportedly trading for Las Vegas Raiders five-time Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby.

The move sent shock waves not only because the Ravens landed an elite player, but also because they paid the steep price of two first-round picks – one in next month's draft and one next year.

In the 31-year history of the franchise, the Ravens had never traded a first-round pick for a veteran player. It's fair to say that no team in the NFL values its draft picks more than the Ravens.

The prevailing opinion is that acquiring a player of the caliber of the 28-year-old Crosby is worth what the Ravens paid:

Here's a look at how pundits assessed the trade:

lol

Wait, they re-signed Calculator??

This does not add up.

I wanted him subtracted from this team.

The fans angst for this FA has just multiplied.

There are a bunch of 3rd-5th round corners with legit skill and tools. I think this move gives us the freedom to deprioritize CB early in the draft and try to develop a mid round guy for a year. If we like what we see, then we aren’t forced to take one early in 2027.

Howie doesn’t always make a splash in FA (and doesn’t always make the right decisions) but he clearly has a plan every year to address every position just well enough that to have the freedom to force nothing in the draft.

I think that FA approach has actually done more to help his drafting than anything else.

By draft night, they won’t NEED anything for week 1.

I am sure every team out there is lighting the phones up in Vegas wondering the same thing...

Exactly. We might be weak at some positions, or lack the depth we’d ideally like. But, as you say, we will be free enough to take someone like Campbell if the opportunity presents itself.

I’m really curious what we’ll do at OT. That’s sort of the elephant in the room with LJ’s age. Maybe we take the same strategy? It doesn’t seem like there is anyone worth a big trade up in the first round, so maybe take a swing in the middle rounds at an upside guy and see if we strike gold?

Maybe they give us Dean back. Lol

This better not screw the Eagles out of an edge rusher.

This is the EMB. There will also be division.

I am guessing it’s a failed physical but that’s unusual.

That Paye deal is horrific

[Bukowski] So the Dallas Cowboys missed out on Maxx Crosby, traded for Rashan Gary instead, and now have financially boxed themselves out of trading for Crosby when he's available again.

Such a shame...

There’s nothing stopping Dallas from backing out of Gary. Not that they would, but they could.

None. They have a hard enough time attracting free agents as it is. They would be beyond dumb to start breaking agreements.

This entire thing is going to have a massive domino effect.

First off the Ravens are going to get an edge rusher which means Hendrickson, Greenard, or Chubb most likely.

Second, the Raiders might be "stuck with" Crosby now which means they might be forced to back out of a free agency deal, with Kwity Paye being most likely.

Third, if some other team is willing to trade for Crosby it could effect their other agreed upon deals for example maybe Dallas gets back in on him and doesn't trade for Gary any longer.

Considering the Eagles still desperately need an edge rusher this is something to really monitor.

DEI will do that

Wtf??

Ravens gonna sign Hendrickson. They probably backed out of deal on purpose

Right...this really is a messed up deal for everyone that made trades based off of the Crosby deal. No trade is complete until contracts are signed and completed tomorrow. What a headache this could create for the Ravens and the Raiders both...and then ultimately the domino effect everywhere else...IF teams wanted to rethink their options, surely that doesn't happen.

Can they though? Just because a contract has contingencies and start date doesn’t mean it’s not enforceable.
