This Goedert thing is really going to the wire. Either a bunch of action will happen at once or it will fizzle and the deadline will pass and they'll probably sign Njoku to a smaller deal after and eat the money

I have to think Howie has other things cooking otherwise this delay is confusing. All reports are that Goedert really badly wants to be back. Howie isn't an idiot, he'd have estimated Goedert's market value months ahead of time. It shouldn't take this long to reach an agreement.

I believe that with AJ money hitting the books immediately, the best players we could hope for are rookie deal players like Stetson Bennett and Jordan Whittington. Who solve backup QB and WR depth issues for us. Id take those two, and a 1st round pick.

AJ Brown for Stetson Bennett, Terrence Ferguson, and Jordan Whittington. 3 good players on rookie contracts and positions of need for us.

They also have Dylan McMahon who would be a nice outside zone type of RG. They have Josaiah Steward who is a speed ball rush OLB.

Lots of players who can address our needs on cheap deals. We can do a deal without needing attractive picks because they have attractive proven players.

Would be legit stunned if the Eagles dealt him to the Rams and strengthened an NFC rival. Would likely cost two future 1sts.

If she says it it is 100% not true

Purely hypothetical if the rams offered Adams and 13th pick for Aj how does Adams contract affect us and could it be restructured. I view it as no way rams think Aj is going to be happy with his targets with puka, Adams and him. Plus it saves the rams $20 mil to deal Adams with just $8 mil dead money.

Well, he's due a $6M bonus in the next 3 days. So depends on when he's dealt or if he pushes his bonus due date back. Other than that it's just $18M of non guaranteed money. The Eagles would just turn that all into a bonus and spread it out over 5 years. Rough estimate he would count $5M against the cap in 2026 and then $13M dead in 2027. They could also try to talk him into a small pay cut since it's not guaranteed and he would be getting the lump sum all at once.

The guy was benched multiple times for poor play, inconsistency, team violations and penalties last year, so yes my eyes are better it seems.

Again i hope it works out, he has a lot of potential…but he’s been largely bad the past 2 seasons. The reason he was on the trade block last year, only got a 1 year deal and Seattle fans are ecstatic he’s gone. It’s a lot of money compared to last years dart throw. That’s the point.

He's way better than Adore Jackson and Ringo. I'll stand on that all day. Clearly the front office thought it was worth it as well. A one year deal is fine and just gave them flexibility. Howie does this every year... fills gaps before the draft and this is absolutely an upgrade at CB2. Further they didn't bench him for Jobe... they basically shared CB2 snaps based on matchups and game plans.

Like him but he's probably gone by our 2nd round pick. Would have to move up most likely.

My eyes glaze over when we talk about the cap too much - a good part of the publicly known info is incomplete. But…

It’s my understanding a Goedert extension would help our 2026 cap space, which would enable us to absorb AJ’s dead cap hit if traded before June. Correct or no? Is an AJ trade possible/reasonable without a Goedert extension?

Correct. Goedert would have to sign an extension if AJ is traded prior to June. And it's going to take some Howie wizardry with the guys they already signed and to have room for other signings. If Goedert isn't extended then only a trade after June 1 could happen.

If we do trade AJ, my guess would be post June-1st for a 2027 1st and 2028 picks

Yeah when the eagles interest in him was reported it mentioned how he would have to be in play at 23. I like him but not that much. Id rather get one of the big athletes in this class. Top choice being Lance.

thats what we all think. Yet, the reports continue and are tying his situation to the Goedert contract.

If you had to go OL at pick 23 who would you pick and why? Here are your options

Ioane
Freeling
Lomu
Proctor
Blake Miller

Gonna be some fireworks today it seems...

So two of the best offensive minds in the game want the trouble baker, ha, jokes on them.

Ioane. Hes the best and only blue chip.

Feeling a close second.

No one else even in consideration.

If there is some kind of news today about Brown, you can bet the house Howie will hold it until 5:30 for his weekend news dump

Someone already brought it up but with puka, brown, and adams the rams would be struggling to distribute the ball and one or more of those 3 will start throwing a hissy fit

Snead is better than Woolen. If they'd have hung tight this would've been a better fit IMO. Remains to be seen how much he gets though. Maybe he goes back to KC.

Yeah, certainly more reliable and better in the run game… Damn it

Keep thinking if we trade Brown it will be to Denver. What would you ask for in return and or which players would you target? Barron didn't get a ton of playing time last year. Could he be an option?

???

12 games in 2 years, jacked up knee. Titans have Saleh and have/just had plenty of cap space. Their fans hate his guts.

Yeah, hard pass.

He can also play safety so still an option.

Or we could have held tight and got nothing

"Oh shoot, Woolen failed his physical, need to pivot"
