March 26Mar 26 Still? Their pen has been good. One of the better ones in baseball. It's their offense that sucks.
March 26Mar 26 27 minutes ago, Diehardfan said:Phillies pen still sucksA clumsy ending there. Like to see some killer instinct. As they just don't put teams away when they should. Expect their bullpen to be solid, but Backhus can't face right handers. He was throwing meatballs. He's got to be a situational guy where its heavy lefthanded bats coming up. Also, Duran could use more movement on his heater. I really don't watch every game or intend to. Just want to go straight to the Playoffs and get to the bottom line with them. Hope there's more excitement to this season with the younger guys.

March 27Mar 27 Its such a damn shame what Hurts has done to these WRs. McCoy is an idiot, but there should be no question here for even an idiot to get it that wrong.
March 27Mar 27 Was at Opening Day today. Crawford had a nice start to his big league career and looks like Stott’s spring training is carrying forward. Backhus threw softball after softball. Harper, JT and Garcia…rough day.
March 27Mar 27 Another athlete at DTAccording to the official results distributed to professional teams, which were acquired by 3DownNation, Konga recorded 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, ran a 4.79-second forty-yard dash, 4.59-second shuttle, 7.03-second three-cone drill, leapt 37 inches in the vertical jump, and a ten-foot, two-inch broad jump. The native of Ottawa, Ont. played 44 collegiate games with the Cardinals and made 13 starts, recording 63 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, eight pass knockdowns, and one interception. Pro Football Focus credited him with 67 quarterback pressures over 680 career pass-rushing snaps.

Don’t like Wheatley’s speed, that kind of suggests Sam 2.0. I like Clark more than Wheatley, similarly ranked. Taaffe may be fast enough. Really like his game and available a bit later. (Faster than the Toledo kid). Wisneiwski has the speed but seems greener than the other two. The extension of Epps suggests maybe they are fine with a slower S opposite Mukuba. How do you feel about the USC duo, Ramsey and Fitzgerald. Not huge on either. If Smith could tackle (and Haulcy - shoulder rather than rap and depends on that to knock the opponent down - after Sydney Brown I have an allergy to that), I would like them more. With Cooper playing NCB/safety, he’s kind of the SS on nickel downs. With Q and Riq speed, plus at the least Mukuba’s as well the only thing I worry about with speed at the second S spot is lack of interchangeability limits what Vic can do. That said, we survived Reed. The problem with the "exciting guys” is draft cost. If Howie is going to spend a 1 on a DB, make it a CB in case Woolen is gone or fails. Way I see the likely draft is the best use of the first pick may well be an edge. Got to admit, Faulk as a 3/4 DE is intriguing.

Fitz had some INT production that I liked too. 5 INTs last year. Ramsey didnt stand out in any way to me. I thought Fitzgerald was being slept on and would rise throughout the process but he hasnt.Id draft them, but Im not comfortable penciling in either as a starter this year. Yes Bud Clark is definitely ranked above Wheatley. Clark to me is a 1st round talent who will fall to the 2nd or 3rd because of his age. Wheatley may have been used in a variety of ways at PSU, but Clark has the athleticism to surely be able to handle all the roles in the NFL. Im not sure Wheatley is going to be covering slots effectively in the NFL. BUT, he can do the Blankenship role. Im completely out on Haulcy. He is too scheme specific and I dont think our scheme is one that fits him. Id like interchangeable safeties. And I think that needs to happen within the first 2 rounds of this draft to land one of those guys. Those will be McNeil-Warren, Theineman, Stukes, or Clark. Mayyybe Kilgore but theres just something slightly lacking with him.But if that fails (landing a guy who is interchangeable), I need them to come away with a Taaffe/Wisnewski/Wheatley in round 4. Those are the last guys I am comfortable with. The first tier of guys mentioned are potential stars, or at least impact players. This Taaffee/Wis/Wheatley tier is acceptable Blankenship replacements. The guys I like after them can be good, but I dont want to be relying on them to start as rookies. Those guys will be Jakobe Thomas, Ramsey, Fitzgerald, Huskey, and mayyybe Louis Moore.

Craig Kimbrell killed the team as their closer two years ago, and Kerkering completely imploded in the biggest game of the year. Not to mention Alvarado hurt the team by getting popped for PED's, Strahm consistently giving up home runs at the worst possible time. Oh and how could we forget that "good club" fraud signed Jordan Romano and they tried to make him their closer and he ended up being one of the worst relief pitchers in the entire league. You just exposed yourself as a total fraud who obviously doesn't even watch the games, congrats.

All he does is attack other posters here, it's like 75% of his posts attacking other people. Dude is a total loser. Anyway I'll respond to you since I don't bother responding to that dude anymore and never will again. The bullpen with Duran at the end of last season was a strength of the team. When someone says "the bullpen still sucks" that comes with the implication that it sucked at the end of last season with Duran and Alvarado when it didn't. Otherwise, why compare this bullpen to the bullpen last year before it was a complete bullpen and use the phrase "still sucks"?But yes, you're right and laid it out plainly so the moron could understand. Banks, Alvarado, and Duran are a good trio, and this year they have Keller on top of it. So no, the bullpen does not suck, and it didn't suck at the end of last year either.
