We should trade him to the Niners for Brock Purdy.

I like hunt but really he’s a solid starter. Smith was great end of the 2024 run and has just never gotten back there. He’s a rotational edge at this stage. Greenard is made of glass apparently. They really could use a premier edge rusher. Frankly when was the last time we spent a first on a DE/pass rusher? Barnett? Prior to him it was Graham. They really do it once every like 7-8 years.

Good lord Barnett was 2017, 9 years ago. I can't believe it's been that long. You're right, for some reason I thought there was a period where there were more.

2023 Nolan Smith amended 💩

2017 Derek Barnett,

2014 Marcus Smith,

2010 Brandon Graham*

2003 Jerome McDougle

1997 Jon Harris

1995 Mike Mamula

That is depressing.

We both forgot Nolan smith

Ha. I have made a couple comments in the last week since he came back and responded to different posts. Didnt really initiate. But who da F cares? Was quiet before that. Why does that bother you? People rehash crap in here all day about the same topic.

I think it would be funny. It does not bother me.

No. I've been told this defense is great!

They could probably play a little bit better if they weren't playing the entire game by themselves. 🤷

One thing I don't like about Howie with regard to extra picks is trading them away too much. Using ammo to trade up is great, like trading up for DeJean, or trading a 1st for AJ Brown when he had extra 1sts that year. But I wish there were more drafts where he'd use those extra picks to select talent.

  • Traded two 4th round picks to move up 3 spots to take Lemon. There were OT and S on the board that a lot of people wanted. Those 4th rounders could have been used on picks to help with depth.

  • Traded two 3rd round picks for Greenard who hasn't contributed anything yet.

  • Traded up for Jordan Davis going from 15 to 13 just 2 spots, and gave up 3 picks: a 4th and two 5ths. In 2022 they also took Jurgens and Dean but then didn't have a pick until the 6th round.

He's collecting ammo in the next two drafts which is great. But if he uses too much of it to trade up then you don't fill other positions.

Yeah somehow I/google forgot him. He is pretty forgettable. 😂

Guys I’d look to deal Hollywood brown, Nolan smith, Ojomo, woolen, Dickerson, Barkley.

Guys depending on the value they get I’d consider dealing: baun (one year left on his deal after 2026), dejean (have to be a big overpay)

I think we rip the band aid off. Baun is older and should get you a good pick. Holding on to Cooper. For now. Just not extending him yet. I'm super picky with Big money extensions going forward. Guys have to earn it.

Maybe Goedert gets you a lower pick. And Elliott as well. For a team desperate like the Ravens. Even if it nets a 6th/ 7th rounder. Don't remember last time a kicker was traded. But his playoff experience makes him a special case.

I don't mind selling players that they don't plan to keep as a core in the next 2-3 years anyway.

Teams are allowed to trade a pending FA (Ojomo, Woolen as examples) then re-sign them in FA the following year. Not saying the Eagles would do this but they are allowed.

100% agree. But they aren't that great is my premise. People use that as a cop-out to blame Hurts and the offense and are blinded by that. They have a few pieces. Not a defense right now. I am looking at each piece individually and who is a keeper and who isn't. As of now, we have one remaining guarantee in Q. Cooper and Jalyx are not ironclad. Right now. Gonna have to hope the 2 guys of Greenard & Jordan Davis are not stiffs for their remaining contracts.

Okay. I missed the sarcasm there. My bad.

Forgot about goedert tbh. Frankly, I kind of think of the market was there, he wouldn’t have been back for 2026. Maybe they get a late round pick from somebody who needs a tight end. Seattle, New England, broncos would be teams that come to mind. Maybe there’s an injury at the position over the next couple weeks.

Choke job aside, where was this version of PG-13 for the Sixers?

1 down year and people are ready to move on from Cooper? Wow

The fact we are talking about Baun which would need a good return but could make sense to look at makes me even more sad that we couldn't keep Nakobe in the fold.

I agree, I wouldn't.

I actually made the argument prior to them re-doing Baun’s contract that could sign Dean and then look to deal Baun in the 2027 offseason when he’s at the end of his current deal. I didn’t think it was a realistic possibility of happening tho.

He had an entire offseason to prepare for 1 game. I’m guessing when plays more and more he’ll show a decline. Kind of what happened when he returned from his suspension last year

Not sure who wants to move on but I'm in the camp of no DeJean extension for now. And if someone makes an offer we can't refuse, then he's not untouchable. Otherwise, just play it out for another year through 2027.

Set up by an INT also.
