He ran like a physical RB picking up tough yards, unafraid of and inviting contact. His best trait is mostly gone now. He's at a point of diminishing returns. Statistically it couldn't be any clearer. He's on the downside of his career. It happens faster for some than others.I don't think anyone is getting that Hurts again, ever, regardless of scheme or play calling. It's clearly time to look and move forward. On all fronts.I don’t disagree on that aspect but hurts contract pretty much locks you into him in 2027. So if you are locked into him then I’m guessing they believe Steichen might be able to work his magic. If he can’t, still think the eagles saw what he did with him in 2022 and Daniel jones prior to his injury in 2025 to allow him to be HC and work with the next Qb they go with.

That wasn't too bright. But he was one of THE coaches that brought the passing game and style where it is today to take advantage of the evolving league. He wasn't some chess grandmaster with offensive concepts, but he is one of the reasons passing offenses looked the way they did decades through today.

From afar, just my gut is it has Lurie being obsessed with the Shanahan offense to a point of detriment written all over it. Not that Sirianni's system was good either, but everything in the offseason felt very haphazardly thrown together.Well unfortunately the evidence could be right in front of us. Sirianni was coming off another disapointing season where we "fell apart" again after successful seasons (2024 vs 2025). Some even thought Sirianni would have been fired after 2025.....I highly doubt Sirianni was given the green light to relieve Stoutland, find another OC and find another OL coach and QB coach.......at that time he was in a spot to shut up and accept the changes, manage the team and staff we give you. As much as I want Sirianni gone, I'm not saying it is all entirely his fault.......our success but then sudden drop offs have seemed to lead to weird structure within the organization. Having this many injuries combined with a struggling and clueless OC makes it easy to tell everyone that were decimated with injuries and that's the real reason.......to me it's not.....some reason yes but not all. Sirianni hasn't lead this team the way he has before, and that could be that he is wearing off on the players and coachesKuper has sucked but he had HUGE shoes to fill.......almost unfillable.....his product is not looking good at all. Mannion has sucked, no one knows if it is system or players but it's historically bad to the point even unsuccessful ex-NFL QB's are calling him out....two different QB's and the same plays. Fangio is going to be hard to judge, is he nearing retirement?........his defenses have bailed out this struggling offense a LOT in the past 1-1/2 seasons......I don't see Vic sticking around for more "experiments"Howie has ventured away from his drafting philopshy and we have not drafted well with the exception of a few players.......did we really need to bring back Joe Douglas? This experiment doesn't seem to be working out - I think we had good intentions with the idea of change after the disapointing 2025 season but it is backfiring. It does look like we got it right with AJ Brown.

I'm not convinced they fire Nick unless the team just starts quitting on the season. If he keeps the guys playing hard and competitive, I think they bring him back one more year (even if I would move on).

One they continue to fight hard until the end. Second if there’s improvement along the way with the offense. If the offense is continuously bad and shows no improvement, I think Howie and Jeff will say offense whether healthy or not shows no improvement especially in the passing game for 3 consecutive years. Has to be some sort of baby steps to getting some what better. I don’t think they expect it to be 2022 Eagles offense. But I also don’t think he can have it be 30 to 32nd consistently all year either. Imo I think Jeff will look at it like our passing offense in a passing league has regressed each year even prior to the injuries and coaching staff had no answers to show minimal improvements. if he doesn’t believe this coaching staff can change that that he will make the ultimate decision to go elsewhere to find it.

Whether it's Wentz, Huff, or Brown, it always gets taken care of. Lurie isn't going to trot this hot garbage out for another season. The boos are going to be raining down weekly. The only reason they don't make a change imo is they genuinely think it's fixable. Which would be fairly laughable at this point, the known quantities are pretty well established. I wouldn't be surprised if an injury settlement takes place and Hurts retires. It would really be best for all parties. I don't see them putting him out onto the field again and taking the risk regardless of Dr's recommendations. They've already experienced the Dr's recommendation outcome with this. It's a pretty rotten situation for all parties at this point.I blame Julian.

They only moved AJ Brown because they could do it after June 1. The only way you can get off of Jalen hurts contract without completely destroying your cap along with a dead money is to move him post June 1. And really has to be a trade which he’d have to drop his NTC. I’m gonna say it’s much harder at the quarterback position to move a guy post June 1 than it is a wide receiver. Especially a guy who has a NTCJust go look at his contract prior to June 1, there’s no way they’re taking a $43million cap it along with $85 million in dead money to trade him. If they just release him it’s 65 mil cap hit and 107 dead money. That’s not realistic. Even wentz wasn’t remotely that bad and he basically forced them to trade him.

1 hour ago1 hr Things to watch for the rest of the season:The young linemenBell was viewed as a project - a JuCo transfer who only started one full season at Miami at left tackle. He was supposed to sit behind Lane and hopefully compete for the job next year. There have been growing pains, but for a guy who was pressed into action way before expected, he has held up OK. It's encouraging and hopefully he progresses.Kendall looked the part when he was healthy - really hope to see him back out there soon.Lampkin feels more like a backup for multiple positions - a much better version of Brett Toth. Not sure he's a starter at guard, and they seem to like Kendall at center.WideoutsWicks is looking like a steal for a 5th and a 6th. Plus, having him next year at $12.5 million is also looking great.Lemon is coming along despite everyone calling him a bust after camp.Cooper is showing something as well and seems a solid WR4.Jalen Carter - as the hand heals, he's becoming a monster. Wrecked the Jags, and Carolina basically double teamed him on every snap.Nolan Smith - he's been our best edge, which may be akin to being valedictorian of summer school, but he's playing the run well and getting some pressure while Hunt and Greenard are MIA. Campell/Trotter - one of them hopefully seizes the job.

And Pierce is below average at blitz pickup, even losing Steele hurt.2) 3 really inexperienced OL with limited preseason snaps who were suddenly thrown into the starting lineup - communication is obviously an issue3) Mannion between the rock and the hard place, they want to install the new offense, but simply don't have the personnel to do so. But if you go to a McKee friendly system, you delay the change for a season. However, you also have to accept that many of the under center plays won't work without a credible running threat. We have had inexperienced olines without this level of oline dysfunction. Mannion and Kuper are just not good at doing their jobs. Just now, eagle45 said:Rehab is almost always disconnected from the surgeon in the NFL. Athletes go to a celebrity orthopedic surgeon and then rehab with their team. If anything, that's on Maragos, not the Eagles and not the surgeon. It is a systemic issue in workers' comp. A PT only place gives better rates to the carrier so client's get less skilled rehab, less time with the physical therapist and have a worse recovery. Maragos did not have the recovery the doctors expected him to have. There was also a meniscal injury that was not repaired. It doesn't mean there was a mistake by anyone. A jury doesn't understand that is the way the treatment is going to go. They are going to wonder why the doctor isn't more hands on and addressing problems. The reality is the PT notes probably said Maragos is progressing and reports little pain. The doctors used that report and the little time they had with Maragos to assess his recovery.
