He is an excellent passer though. Throws a great ball. Accurate. One of the beat deep ball throwers in the game. And rarely puts the ball in harms way while still making aggressive throws.

Maybe the best passer I’ve ever seen. Not sure that great accurate deep ball, one of the best in the game has actually connected with a receivers hands in over 2 years. But it’s the best I’ve seen.

Best owner in the city.

Today...nods-yes.gif

I was a huge fan of Hurts when he ran for important first downs and made plays with his legs. People complained about his rushing TDs which I found funny. But that version of him is gone. He's on the downside of his career now. He's definitely not a special passer or runner now. He's no long on the rookie bargain contract that helps surround him with talent. He'll never see a third contract here and for good reason. It's not a championship winning plan.

The McNabb cult had a hard time letting go after he was cooked too. He puked in the Super Bowl for you!

A 5th loss in a row to the Cowboys this weekend does 3 things.

First, likely finishes the Sirianni era, by the end of this year.

Two, Howie is now thinking about how to strip this team for draft picks and starts plans for the future.

And 3, it officially turns Philly into a Sixers town for the foreseeable future. And yes if you stated, Josh Harris is a great owner, you are holding a winning ticket. Congrats! Ranked number 1 currently...Lurie must seethe for now.

Gone? He ran for a huge clutch first down on third and long in the week 1 game.

Is that in American money? Are we on the precipice of hyper inflation? Should I invest in gold or other tangible assets😵

Gold has no inherent value.

Politicians acting like doctors is always a clownshow.

Apparently her husband died of blood clots after an achilles tendon rupture. It's hard to say how this in anyway relates to her job in the Senate.

Going to be interesting to see how they handle the guys on IR this week that are eligible to return.

  • Dickerson: I'd activate him and start him at LG if he is ready, mainly with an eye to hopefully trading him by the deadline. There's basically 3 potential outcomes: (i) he shows you he's never going to be a player again, and you cut him in the offseason as he has no guaranteed money left; (ii) he plays well enough for you to trade him; or (iii) by some miracle, he plays well enough to keep around. I think you need to put him out there if you want (ii) to be possible, and Lampkin can always get snaps in the future (assuming Kendall is good to go, if not, Willie can play center).

  • Stowers: Activate him because the season's a waste anyway. Cut Jenkins or Mundt, or both (see below). Lemon has looked better each week as he gets snaps, so might as well throw Stowers out there and see if he can start improving.

  • Calcaterra: I can't believe I am saying this, but...activate him and cut Mundt. Calc can't block, but apparently neither can Mundt. Grant can at least be a receiving threat.

  • Bennett: No, just no.

Nobody on here was harder on him than me. Not even you until you went nuts.

That turned to gratitude but I still don't. I can't stand people bashing him as their main issue this year though. Anyone who complains about him before the coach, system, OC, OL, and not having a run game is an idiot who doesn't know the game close to as well as they think and all they are doing is posting hate.

He has flaws. Major ones. They drive me nuts but he still gives them their best shot at winning the next year or two. I'm not wasting picks for Burrow who considered early retirement until recently. I'm not trading for JH. There are no better options in FA. Drafting a guy in a class that looked as weak as it did last weekend isn't either. 28 is when I'd go after one.

Either way the guy plays hard and plays injured. I may not like him but I do respect him and the haters here who I used to be the biggest of are wrong.

There has been no change in my demeanor towards Hurts. Nice try!

It’s in abeyance. Basically just a warning.

If something is in abeyance it means that they could decide to enforce. It's sort of like probation.

People said he slowed down right up to the point vs DC and TN when he looked faster than last year WHEN he ran. He's getting close to 30 and won't be effective for much longer, but I think he has another year or two. The guy has major flaws but the reason I've stood up for him isn't because I love the guy as our QB. It's because that offense is a total crap show on every level. Nick sucks, the scheme sucks, the OC seems to suck unless Nick is overly involved and it's another situation that was rumored when Johnson was here (He wanted it to look different and Nick said no), the OL can't block, and there is absolutely no run game. Many games the offense would look decent the first half and crap the second. It's not like he forgot how to play QB the 2nd half the coaches couldn't adjust. That doesn't mean he was flawless. Far from it. He didn't play well at times, but so would most QBs with all that crashing down around them. 13 yards of rushing in a half??? 7 yards the other half?

If you want to win a championship next year or possibly the next he's the best option though. If people are fine writing the next two years off then yeah toss him out the door but no FA is going to be any better and nobody they trade for will be worth the price/risk. The QBs coming out this year looked bad this weekend. I think they should use the picks for an edge or OL this year and see what Hurts can do for one more year with a better coach and get the next guy in 28.

I like you but on this issue you have progressively gotten worse. In a year or two he will be gone.

People here are so sensitive you can't defend the guy without getting your own RNR topic.

Before he got hurt he wasn't in the top 4 or 5 reasons things were going wrong. I don't even like Hurts and I saw that. We are also lucky to have a guy who can win even with his flaws. Too many angry people here with issues. The guy went out and played with blood clots. I'll never be a huge fan of him but I respect him and remember when players like that were loved in this town even when they failed.

I almost hope they sign him now just to watch the mental breakdowns.

If you think what RTK does is simply defending then i'm not going to argue with you. The guy just said the eagles should fully guarantee Hurts' next two years for pretty much no reason, and then said he would support a ridiculous hypothetical contract extension but I truly believe he's serious.

He's 90% of the reason there's such negative discourse in here about Hurts, because it's usually sparked by him or whoever else that takes any criticism of Hurts to the extreme. That causes others to go to the other extreme. People just can't be normal and agree that the guy is a mediocre QB who has had 2 phenomenal Super Bowl performances.

I have no problem with HE. But he's bad at taking L's in all these arguments over the years. He is wrong more than he is right, so he should be humbled a little. If I see that, you gain my respect. Til then, it's utter stupidity. And the case has been closed with 2 Superbowl appearances. He's hanging for dear life....

McNabb had a bad leg injury though , and I think that affected him. Plus I think he got fat. I think if hurts can stay in shape he can get through a second contract, but I tend to agree with you about a third contract.

The strangeness surepunding it all continues with the mixed messaging.

Yeah they only have 2 wins this season because of Hurts. Meanwhile your dream boy Justin Herbert is 0-6.

Why do you think Justin Herbert is my "dream boy"? He's not. Wouldn't have anything to do with the shade of his skin, would it?

I wasn't thinking about RTK when I posted that. He's better than mediocre. There are people who suck, JAGs, season stat guys like Dak, Hurts, then elite QBs. We haven't really had elite that I can remember. McNabb was probably the closest we've gotten other then 3/4 of a year of Wentz, but we've had a lot of JAGs and sucky ones. If they have a guy who can win if you build a good team around him I'm fine with that for another year or two. That's still more than most teams have. Houston last year is a good example.

I will take a mediocre QB every time, who can deliver 2 Superbowl appearances in 3 years and not spit the bit in clutch times.

Saw an idea for Minnesota to trade for Herbert, and Barkley.
