GB…HC….🤔🤔

Not seeing anything in Jeremiah Smith that would make me trade up for him. I see a lot of contested catches and some good route running, but very little in the way of breaking tackles or outrunning any angles.

He’s a very good — but not dynamic nor generational — prospect.

So if a team has an offense that sucks, it's much ado about nothing if their WRs don't make catches, get yards, or make plays isn't bad and fans should be satisfied as long as they are getting open a few plays a game? Talk about setting the bar incredibly low, my god.

And it is a team sport, that's why players need to step up and make plays too. Can't blame everything on the system, teammates or coaches. How about individuals step up and do something? Maybe then the offense could be average instead of historically pitiful.

Lemon has sucked.

This is a genuinely moronic take. Lemon isn’t dropping passes, he’s not getting blanketed in coverage. He’s playing on a team where 4 of the top 6 OL are out, the QB is out, the RB is out, and on and on.

Show me the plays he should have made but didn’t. You can’t because they don’t exist. He’s doing his job.

The Cardinals really need a QB. Since the Eagles are a QB factory - per D-Bag Howie - maybe we could trade one of our 435 QBs to AZ? For a 1st and a 3rd? 🤓🤓

??? His job is to produce and make plays. He hasn't done it. He's dropped a few passes already. He's not getting separation particularly well. He's being outplayed by an undrafted free agent(Cooper). We'll see how he does tomorrow night, because he'll be the #1 WR. And we'll see if he can do more than just get open a few times per game.

I can't believe this is a real conversation. The guy was a biletnikoff award winner and a first rounder not a 7th rounder. If the dude played for the Cowboys or Giants and he was playing like this you'd be mocking them for drafting a bust. This is just homerism lowering of standards to defend a player you don't want to accept has been bad. He could still end up being a good player, but denying he hasn't played well so far is just not being honest. By this logic since the Eagles offense sucks we shouldn't expect any players to perform anywhere because all the injuries and garbage around them. Let's just give everyone a pass for not producing.

It's interesting reading the board when the Eagles aren't playing. Everyone sees how bad the overall NFL product is, the overall play of the QB position has declined from previous decades, defenses are giving up plays to average QBs or offensive personnel, and coaches are making bad game management decisions.

But many fans will be overly critical of their own team and seemingly expect close to perfection. And not just the QB. People want to trade DeJean or Baun, consider not extending Smitty, say Jalyx Hunt sucks, etc.

And this team has a unique year for injuries. Lane retired, Jurgens traded, Hurts blood clot, Smitty hurt, RB1-RB3 hurt with practice squad scrubs playing RB, our top 3 Edge players have never been healthy together, we've not seen Greenard play who was a big trade acquisition. Stout gone and Kuper sucks, backups or not. There's a lot they're facing this year.

Yet, with a good offseason to retool with the core of the roster, they're right back in it because as everyone can see and admit, the overall quality of the NFL has really declined.

What sucks is that the overall NFL product sucks and the Eagles laying an egg at a time where they could own the conference. This team is closer to the Lower echelon of teams than top. We are at the end of an era now. It's hard to concede. That's where we are. So many tough decisions to follow here. Letting go of certain guys won't be easy, but they have high trade value and may be aging. We are no longer in that superbowl window everyone was fooled into thinking we were in. This is a laughably dysfunctional franchise right now. From top to bottom. Not getting solved anytime soon or in one offseason. Talent gap, leadership gap and a coaching gap. Settling for at best, a mediocre team and record will not make us any closer to a superbowl contender, which is what fans should expect to be since 2025. Not lowering the bar. Need to drastically change this entire outfit. We aren't close....

The issue to me with the Eagles is more there’s offenses (prior to everybody getting hurt) with worse talent that is functional as a passing attack. To me the biggest problem, the Eagles have had going back to 2024, is that in a passing league and it looks like they’re pulling teeth to make the passing game work. There’s teams with bad passing attacks that still look more functional than the Eagles. To me that’s the biggest issue I have with the entire team. They have no answers on how to fix it. Really 2024 it was better but it was still not great. They just had a historic rushing attack, oline and defense that just been super low volume efficient worked. Hard to consistently pull that off

I would then go to the baun element. Baun’s play isn’t the reason for dealing hm. Imo more about in a year from now you’re either gonna have to give him an extension that kicks in at 32 Or he’s gonna walk at the end of that year. So hypothetically, if somebody came to you and offered you a 2nd round pick and then some it is a very intriguing offer. As for dejean I said I wouldn’t trade him unless somebody gives me an offer I can’t refuse. Which is kind of what happened to Kansas City with Trent McDuffie. I can see the Eagles thinking in that way, cause that’s what the Chiefs did and used picks and saving to build around the entire team.

I think a lot depends on their off-season. Because I don’t think the Eagles are like one or two pieces away. If we’re being honest with ourselves, they might have to rebuild 3/5 of that offensive line. Mailata is back. Bell might’ve a starter. Kendall might be a long term starter (already banged up after starting a week). Steen is likely gone and you need a LG. Also need Stowers to emerge or go sign someone like Laporta in FA. At WR I like wicks and lemon as secondary guys. Smith if he stays healthy is a top tier WR. I’d still love to get another game breaker wr. Hard to find. Then on top of this, who knows what’s happening at Qb. Hurts contract makes him back in 2027. However, I don’t think there’s anything after 2027 committed to anybody at that position. People might not like it, but that’s the reality. First off you have the blood clot issue and hopefully he never has that happen again. But secondly, he’s at the end of his guaranteed money after next year. Really that’s another unknown after 2027.

Defensively they really need a 2nd corner once woolen leaves or is dealt. Need another starting S. Might not need 1-2 lb depending on how Campbell develops and if Baun leaves after 2027. Pass rush is also an issue. Hunt is a solid starter. Smith is likely gone after 2027. Greenard is injury prone. Been his career. Good when healthy but often misses 3-5 games (5th time in 7 years).

Eagles could bounce back in 2027 but i think it’s more likely the eagles trying to set themselves up for 2028 where they jump back in as a contender

Lemon has ZERO official drops and only one which could reasonably be argued should count as a drop. He is absolutely getting open. You’re just making crap up now to backwards rationalize your opinion which is based on receiving yards. But receiving yards are a function of the offense, and a receiver is the last link in a chain of events which must go correctly for a reception to even occur.

Tbh I’m surprised if they stick with Brissett for much longer. He’s eh and you are better off seeing what beck can do for a stretch of the season. I highly highly doubt beck is the future but give him 10 games to see what he is or isn’t. Goal was never winning year 1 anyway. If beck fails then you are all in on getting a Qb this draft.

Eagles would never trade up what it would take to get him. If the eagles continue to suck and picking 5th and he fell I’d see it. However if you have to move up to 2nd and 3rd the amount of capital with as many holes as we have is unlikely. I think far more likely they’d deal up for a OL or move back to stockpile more picks

2028 is super optimistic. Their higher picks line up for that year right now. Teams hesitant to give up 2027 draft picks. May have a brand new QB depending how 2027 shakes out and health. Too much to unravel here still.

There is just so much uncertainty here that 2029 is probably best case scenario to being a true contender. Draft picks need a year or 2. We got spoiled with Q and Coop stepping in and dominating. This is not the norm. Need a couple years for 2027 and 2028 talent to develop. 2029/2030 sounds right. And that's if Howie aces it all. Too many team needs right now and those needs only get larger with older vets likely getting traded for this rebuild. There maybe 2 pillars and building blocks right now for the franchise to build on for the long term, who may be deemed untouchable. Q and Carter. And Carter is disappointing so far. We just keep hoping he's that unicorn. As of now he is not. Everyone else for the right price should be available. Going to need lots of premium picks to turn this thing around.

They can't say they weren't warned....

Yeah i don’t see 2028 as super optimistic. We thought the same in 2020. By 2022 we made a massive jump cause we had a lot of draft capital and howie made good moves. Howie when he has to build up tends to do a great job. It’s when he has to sustain that things tend to be somewhat an issue. In the next 2 years we have enough top 3 round picks and some cap space to work with in 2028 to get ourselves back there.

Every time we think it’s going to be doom and gloom of 3 years or more rebuild we are back within 2 years. I still think with some cap space and picks that the goal is to be back by 2028. Unless we are looking for a QB in 2028. I have a feeling it’s either going to be hurts or they find a way to get the Qb they want
