No offense go look around the NFL right now and tell me who is a legitimate contender. The Buffalo Bills are giving up 29 points per game on defense. That is one of the legitimate contenders. Jags nearly lost to us down a boatload of guys and then lost to the Texans. Have a bad pass defense. Niners are an older offense besides purdy. Their best playmakers are 34 year old kittle. 33 year old Mike Evans. And cmc who’s 30 going on 31. Rams might have Stafford retire and Nacua is a FA at the end. Bears in the nfc might have the longest sustainability as a contender due to Williams and his weapons but bad defense. Steelers 5-2 and browns 5-2 are frauds. Bengals burrow is 4-2 and really they are considered a contender. Broncos and Minnesota have offense ms that are not good yet currently both contenders. Chiefs have mahomes and reid so they are usually right there but even last year they had a season of death like us.

The landscape of the NFL is telling me over the course of two off-season’s that if the Eagles have good or solid offseason couldn’t get themselves back to being a contender. the contenders right now aren’t great teams.

I hear ya and that makes this extra frustrating. We should be better than all of them. And are not. Howie had the last 2 offseasons to be in this terrible NFL landacape aand we stink. And all we have done is gone down with seemingly talented rosters. And now this roster is stripped from a lot said talent. And more coming potentially. Will see. If Jalen is back and that is the direction they go anything can happen. But Because of that potential huge extension and his clot issues it makes everything cloudy and uncertain. I'm rooting for them. Will see.

I just look at it more this way. The Chiefs for as great as they’ve been also had a season from hell last year. I’d argue they had 2-3 poor offseasons but re-emerged in 2026 as a contender. Now they have mahomes and Reid so it’s a bigger advantage than most teams. But i kind of think, every organization regardless of how great they have been eventually gets hit with a season like this. Unless you are tom Brady and the patriots. That’s about the only one that really avoided it.

Good news at least we have Kelly green jerseys tomorrow and not the black funeral jerseys.

Tomorrow is Midnight Grren with white pants

We should’ve busted out the black ones for the funeral

I don’t think it’s gonna work but good for him for trying to do something outside of the box

I'm simply waiting for Kelly green to be permanent already

I guess we’re not wearing the Kelley greens tomorrow. I’d love to have the white over the black jerseys.

Side note

It's good to see when other teams can't do a screen either lol

Gb did a screen on 2nd and 14 that was very eagles with lemon like. Lost two yards on it.

That makes sense. Didn't he come from GB?

I looked up flexing MNF. I didn't know it was a time frame. You guys didn't mention that it's too early. They need to fix that rule. Waiting until weeks 12-17 for a flex while forcing the nation to watch bad games weeks 1-11 is cruel lol

lol one of the wings should be bandaged

Chiefs badly need a wr especially cause rice isn’t reliable to stay healthy or not do anything dumb.

Also where the f is Stowers? How is he not ready to play?

Yup

With the season basically lost, they really should play him. Especially if we lose this game.

Chiefs were in Superbowl in early 2025. So they had 1 bad offseason. I do get your point. But as things stand we are going to take an Ojomo hit. Potentially a Baun hit (getting older regardless). And a Woolen hit. Davis and Hunt are not full timers in both positions and are limited in some ways. Safety is not looking good long term. Defense is supposed to be our strong suit. And offense has holes everywhere. There is a case to be stated that we need 11/22 positions to be upgraded for next year. At least. And that may change to higher numbers with trades if we sell off. There are just so many holes on this roster right now. Just how I see it. Sorry. Can't solve all of it that quickly. Gonna need a lot of picks and good ones! Not a 2 to 3 players away scenario like Chiefs or any of the other good teams in contention. Also, Howie has invested good money on so so players that keep his hands tied to actually get better. It's the Bryce Huff scenario but worse, with more players. I will put it in Phillies lingo, we have too many Trea Turners and Aaron Nolas.

When they are no longer trying to win is when you will see him

The injuries might have caught up to Mahomes. I'm not sure he has it anymore

Seattle d line has him rattled right now

He has pretty much never been injured. Had a couple fake injuries.

You see the names in the box score he is throwing the ball to? Its one of Andy's fatal flaws. He doesnt think his great QBs need any WRs.

First off I pointed this out that if you look at their defensive statistics, it is far significantly worse in the fourth quarter than any other quarter. Top 10 defense quarters 1-3 analytically. there are one of the worst defenses in the league in the fourth quarter. Some of that is they need to get themselves off the field. Some of that is they’re worn down by the time it gets to the fourth quarter because the offense has been so horribly bad and they played more plays than they should. Frankly if the Eagles offense was just average, I think their defense would still not be a top five defense. But I think they’re closer to top 10 than where they sit right now.

Secondly the Chiefs were down like almost an entire offensive line a couple years ago besides Humphrey and smith. Heck their 1st rounder in 2025 was a bust. Their last two drafts are really not good. They still don’t have wide receivers besides rice. And their defense just lost two of their starting cornerbacks in Watkins and McDuffie. And their safety position isn’t all that great either. I would also argue their linebackers are mediocre. Their pass rush consist of jones who’s on the downside of his career. They really added Walker and a couple OL and now are back.

Third eagles have like 11 of 22 starters out right now. Hard to make a judgment on what the Eagles are with as many injuries as they have had. This was the same thing I said in 2020. They had a boatload of injuries plus Carson wentz didn’t look good. And trust me it was way more dire than. I don’t know if you were on this board back in 2015, it was far more dire because you were stuck essentially with Sam Bradford unless you traded up to get Carson Wentz, who wasn’t unproven commodity in high level college football and you traded away the talent that you had or let them walk away for nothing under Chip Kelly.

Their talent level right now is still far better than what they were going into the 2016 offseason and I’d argue 2021 offseason. Remember eagles didn’t know what mailata was, seumalo was up and down, brooks was coming off injury and was talks lane was breaking down as he missed a lot of time previous two years. Eagles had crap at WR as hadn’t drafted smith yet. It was quez and Hightower with broken down DeSean and alshon. Goedert and Ertz (who was upset eagles didn’t give him an extension) as our main weapons along with sanders and Boston Scott. I’d add the defense was bad besides Graham, cox and slay. Edwards was unproven and hargrave was solid not great. McLeod was on the way out. They had bad linebackers, bad depth at DE and bad depth at corner and safety. No offense after 2020 the Eagles were in worse shape than they are now if everybody is healthy.

Again, I think you’re being way too negative and not remembering how bad it was at the end of the chip era and going into the 2021 off-season with talent and the entire wentz saga. Plus they fired Doug and were starting anew with a brand new inexperienced HC. Heck i could make the argument the end of the reid era it looked dire too. Didn’t have ertz or lane yet. Cox was good. But Graham hasn’t become Graham and neither did Kelce yet. Had basically Evan Mathis and peters along the oline.

Don’t get me wrong. It doesn’t look great right now. I’m not gonna tell you it’s definitely going to happen. But acting like they haven’t done so in the past in similar spots if not worse and it’s hopeless is avoiding/ignoring what Howie/Lurie have done and accomplished in short periods of times.

I argued with people on here after 2024 season who said the niners were done cause of their cap situation and OL and how many holes they had. Currently 2 seed in the nfc. Jags had a ton of holes heading into 2025 offseason and they were one of the better afc teams midway through 2025 and considered a contender now.
