He believes JSN will catch anything even if he throws it to the other team.

Just saw that Bucs ran for 250+ yards on the Panthers… what did we muster again?

35yds?! Good grief.

Frankly Seattle’s offense is just throw it to jsn. Their WRs outside of him are pedestrian and their running game has been mediocre without Walker there anymore.

Unfortunate we don’t have vj and Embiid tonight. Probably win that game with them. That said they badly need another back up big. Bona was ok tonight but seeing with no other center, it’s a problem.

That game was over real early. Once the strip sack fumble was returned by the Bucs for a touchdown it was over. Carolina tried to make it a game. They got a td to cut it to 17-6 then their PAT was blocked and returned for a 2 point conversion.

This didn’t look good.

First off I pointed this out that if you look at their defensive statistics, it is far significantly worse in the fourth quarter than any other quarter. Top 10 defense quarters 1-3 analytically. there are one of the worst defenses in the league in the fourth quarter. Some of that is they need to get themselves off the field. Some of that is they’re worn down by the time it gets to the fourth quarter because the offense has been so horribly bad and they played more plays than they should. Frankly if the Eagles offense was just average, I think their defense would still not be a top five defense. But I think they’re closer to top 10 than where they sit right now.

Secondly the Chiefs were down like almost an entire offensive line a couple years ago besides Humphrey and smith. They still don’t have wide receivers besides rice. And their defense just lost two of their starting cornerbacks in Watkins and McDuffie. And their safety position isn’t all that great either. I would also argue their linebackers are mediocre. Their pass rush consist of jones who’s on the downside of his career. They really added Walker and a couple OL and now are back.

Third eagles have like 11 of 22 starters out right now. Hard to make a judgment on what the Eagles are with as many injuries as they have had. This was the same thing I said in 2020. They had a boatload of injuries plus Carson. Winston didn’t look good. And trust me it was way more dire than. I don’t know if you were on this board back in 2015, it was far more dire because you were stuck essentially with Sam Bradford unless you traded up to get Carson Wentz, who wasn’t approving commodity in college football and you traded away the talent that you had or let them walk away for nothing under Chip Kelley. Their talent level right now is still far better than what they were going into the 2016 offseason and 2021 offseason. Remember eagles didn’t know what mailata was, seumalo was up and down, brooks was coming off injury and was talks lane was breaking down as he missed time previous two years. Eagles had crap at WR as hadn’t drafted smith. Goedert and Ertz (who was upset eagles didn’t give him an extension) as our main weapons along with sanders and Boston Scott. I’d add the defense was bad besides Graham, cox and slay. Edwards was unproven and hargrave was solid not great. McLeod was on the way out. They had bad linebackers, bad depth at DE and bad depth at corner and safety. No offense after 2020 the Eagles were in far worse shape than they are now if everybody is healthy.

Okay. So you have your eggs in the Howie basket and comparing different eras and how he turned it around. It's hard to rely on all of that for me. But they have some talent. But I really believe it's been overrated. We can blame injuries. Well their depth is bad. That's part of a great team too. Thats what made 2024 special. But this talent level has been eroding a lot since 2024 team. And again if they tank they only have more holes than before. There's still more unwinding here to go potentially. We have not necessarily hit our rock bottom yet. Again you are being optimistic and that's fine. I've heard alot of optimism the last 2 years here. Have to keep it real.

The roster the Eagles had in 2024 was not sustainable. The NFL doesn’t allow it. It’s why we have the salary cap. It’s why the only dynasty we saw that went decades was the New England Patriots because they had Tom Brady.

You could be negative all you want but you also overlooking some things as well that are positives for this team going forward. And I’m usually not the most optimistic person on here. heck i wasn’t after 2020 saying they caught lightning in a bottle in 2017. However, I also see the Eagles have a lot of resources at their disposal. They’re gonna have cap space when it comes to the 2028 off-season. So they can make moves to get themselves better. Plus the league isn’t showing you that it’s hard to become a contender. There’s no great team and been teams in one offseason like jags and New England that went from bad to very good quickly. Both 4-13 in 2024 with a bunch of holes on the roster. I also believe they’ll get better coaching than what we currently have.

you don’t gotta be positive about everything. However you’ve gone down this it’s utterly hopeless for the next few years meanwhile been teams in far worse spots than the eagles that got back to contender status sooner. Just keeping it real with you.

Fans are not going to like this but i do wonder if they can’t sign a center in the buyout market, if they don’t attempt to deal Philon for one. Love philon’s upside but he really doesn’t fit the current timeline. He's great for after lebron, Embiid are done here but really his $3.6 mil could be used to match salary for a backup big. Imo i don’t think they’d deal Dean Wade or Simons to get that backup big

I also don’t understand why the NBA doesn’t just start a little bit earlier annd avoid having back to backs. They ****ed about players not playing enough games. But if you started like 3 weeks earlier, you could’ve avoid most of the back-to-back and more guys would play consistently.

All I said that is I don't think they will be a serious contender til 2029/2030. I think that's very reasonable. Also, Jags had several bad seasons before they hit paydirt. Not quick. Pats had 3 bad to mediocre seasons in a row before they hit pay dirt. It wasn't a quick turnaround. If we count 2026 2027 2028 as bad seasons. Then we are good in 2029. I think that's a reasonable scenario. This is quite a process we are about to undertake to get where we have to go.

Possibly, yes.

But let's see what, if anything, Barlow has added to his game over the summer. Maybe when he gets in the lineup he's looking like what we need.

I will say I was very jealous of Ware as a backup last night.

Jags were in the playoffs in 2022-23 and won a playoff game. It took them two seasons to get themselves back into a contender which would be inline with the eagles and 2028. I’d add New England and jags at the end of 2024 had far more holes then what the eagles do if guys are healthy. They just lacked talent and poorly coached. It was less about health.

Imo it’s not just what Howie does. It’s also about coaching. Both of those teams had good coaching come in and elevate those teams. As well as QB position played at a high level that could also make up for some of the holes (as well as some luck). Lawrence and Maye played really well last year and covered up some holes that weren’t going to be entirely fixed in just one offseason. So if you really believe in Jalen hurts and if we get the right coaches in here, then you should believe he can elevate this team with some holes to be a contender. All while Howie continues to plug away overtime helping patch up those holes.

I point out there’s contenders with some massive holes. . The bills are giving up nearly 30 points a game on defense. Their secondary is not good and linebackers I’d say are also not great That is an entire defense of holes outside of a guy or two. The Chiefs have absolutely no wide receivers because Rice can’t stay healthy and when he is healthy, he’s an idiot get suspended. Also oline is about avg and also a rebuilt secondary this offseason. Jags have no pass defense and an OK oline. SF can’t stay healthy and are old. Minnesota has an awful offense. Burrow has no line and a mid defense. Broncos offense is putrid with a bad running game. Lions have no corners and a suspect defense. Rams might have been the most complete team heading into the season. the nfl is a bunch of contenders that have flaws and holes.

Cost them 6 points albeit one was a 58 yarder.

That said, Reid just relying on old kelce and Walker was going to catch up. Rice isn’t reliable. He’s either hurt or doing something dumb off the field. They needed upgrades to the OL which made slightly upgrades. But their WRs badly need upgrading regardless of mahomes being great or not.

I really thought Worthy was going to be better than he has been.

I kind of thought he got overdrafted due to his 40 time. Imo chiefs cause of his speed thought he’d be a perfect tyreek hill replacement. But every time I watch him it looks like he doesn’t run good routes and is fighting the ball. Hill is a POS but to his credit he wasn’t just speed. He actually developed into a good WR.
