Afc is going to come down to likely Buffalo or KC. The nfc is wide open. Minnesota is a fraud. Niners can’t stay healthy and frankly I think overrated especially if cmc gets banged up. Rams may put it together once they get healthy but who knows. Packers, lions, bears going to beat each other up. Nfc east and north sucks.

A quality starter will fall to R3 in next year's draft.

I'm rooting for the Packers because Dallas owns their pick so we want it to be as low a pick as possible. I think the Packers will be a 2nd half team though, they're pretty good.

Should be. If McKee can get something going, and then eventually gets his WRs back and the OL a little healthier they could be in the mix. This team has the talent to be in the mix. So if they can get things fixed why shouldnt we want to be?

You could be negative all you want. But he’s done it twice. This isn’t some kind of fluke where he got to a Super Bowl and won one. He’s managed to get to 3 in a 10 year window of time. Meanwhile we had some bleak outlooks after 2015 with chip to the point they had to settle on Doug who wasn’t their top choice. Then was bleak again after 2020. Heck I’d argue the collapse of 2023 it wasn’t looking great until that 2024 draft.

He's proven he can do well when handed premium picks and a multitude of them to be able to hop around on draft day. 2027 is still up in the air. Do they tank (lot of people think Howie would never do that). And are they able to accumulate more 2027 premium picks besides their own. Otherwise this is no certain quick turnaround. Even his best recent draft everyone talks about in 2024 is Q, Coop and Jalyx. That looked amazing 2 years ago. Now Q is the only 100% keeper. I like Coop and Hunt. But are you throwing the bag at both of them? As early as this offseason?

Howie being a great drafter has come down a rung for me. He's also traded draft picks in wasted trades and brought down some of that invincibility there. And now that Dickerson and Jurgens were pretty mediocre by age 26 and not keeping Williams, these drafts have lost some of their luster. And giving big money to the wrong peeps who were good draftees. Lots to question here before assuming anything at this point.

Getting parson’s back should help them defensively. They are missing a game wrecked. Granted he has to be what he was prior to the injury. Issue for GB is they get way too cute inside the red zone. Too many times they are trying to reinvent the wheel and they can’t run the ball. Add on need to quit trying to force feed golden like they did today. They kept trying and the lions defended him well. Meanwhile struggled with Kraft and Watson who got 14 targets. Really need to begin spreading it out more. As good as golden is they are 1-3 when he gets 12+ targets and avg 4 ppg less when he leads the teams in targets

I think hunt and dejean are gonna be fine. Frankly hunt pressure rate before he got hurt was good. He just wasn’t finishing where he was getting sacks. And he was a third round pick. If you get a starting caliber defensive end/pass rusher in the third round that’s a pretty good hit. Cooper DeJean has been playing with a stinger. Don’t think he’s been healthy all year. Also doesn’t help your safety position is a mess so that’s screwing with a lot of things in the secondary. Heck woolen analytically been worse than adore Jackson last year. looking at that 2024 draft class, there’s not 5 better draft in the NFL than what the Eagles did. I’d give hunt an extension. He’s fine. Dejean needs to get healthy. I think he in turn will be fine. I trust the two previous years over 6 games in a season where there’s a bunch of issues.

On Dickerson, most general managers in the nfl were going to extend him when the Eagles did. Say whatever we want, before that extension and when they gave it to him, he was one of the best guards in the league. Cam is a different story as he was less proven to me at center as he only played there one year. Even so Howie got a 2nd back for him so doesn’t really hurt as much especially if Kendall works out (albeit Jurgens had a 2.5% pressure rate today and gave up one pressure for what it’s worth).

Has Howie had bad drafts? Of course. However, he’s also had good drafts. When you’re the general manager for 11 years that is going to happen. You’re not gonna be great at drafting every single year. No one is.

There’s a lot of questions however they also have a lot of resources that other teams in their position don’t. Also, they’re a lot of questions for a lot of teams. Ask the rams what their future looks like after this year. Bears have some decisions to also make soon as well. Seahawks don’t look so hot right now either. Niners offensive skill position players getting really old really fast. That’s the nature of the league that other teams also have questions. Really only two teams i think you can say are reliable it’s chiefs (even last year had a mess year like the eagles are having) and bills as long as mahomes and allen are healthy.

Again, I think you’re being overly negative that everything is just going to be really bad and take longer. we’ve been in similar spots on multiple occasions and sometimes even darker places and gotten out of it quickly. Go look around the league, it is bad football. The bad teams in this league are staying competitive even the good teams. Which tells me this league if you can just have one and/or two good off-seasons you can make yourself into a contender again

you are a hurts guy right? So if you believe in him as much as you do, then you shouldn’t be as down on the team. Because him at a quarterback position if he’s the guy then he can elevate the team if they just get the right coaching in there and some more talent in there which we’ve seen Howie be able to accomplish. We aren’t a franchise like the raiders, Browns and jets who just get stuck in long purgatory droughts. Tend to follow history where when things look bleakest for the eagles, howie and lurie will not just take it lying down and say we’ll give us 5 years to rebuild.

I’d also point this out, I thought the Sixers were in a far worse place prior to this offseason than the Eagles are currently. In a league where it’s much harder to turn a team around quickly. They would’ve had a wait until Joel‘s contract expired. PG‘s contract expired/tradabke. That their future was very bleak for at least 2-3 years as they were stuck in a purgatory. They were very likely a fringe play-in team and not good enough to win anything big and not bad enough to get a top 3 pick. by that time is maxey gonna want to stay in Philadelphia. A good general manager comes and changes everything. Things look bleak now for eagles but Howie along with Lurie has shown ability to fix things faster particularly since Howie came back in 2016. Maybe this is the very end but they have been one of the better organizations for last 25 years. They tend to have a bad season but find their way back after a year or two.

I’m not confident. They could win because Dallas is terrible but I don’t think it’ll be convincingly. Wouldn’t be shocked if Dallas blows us out.

This has to be Mannion’s last chance. If the offense looks putrid he has to be gone. Freakin Tampa had 430 yards of total offense vs Dallas with a rookie UDFA QB.

Smith and Wicks are out. I think Goedert and Barkley play but there’s at least a 50/50 chance either exits the game early with an injury.

Hope I’m wrong but I’m not optimistic.

Only result I’m not ok with tomorrow is an ugly win for us. If we kick their ass? Fun, and that means some young guys played well. Maybe signs of life from Mannion. If they beat us? Whatever, but hopefully the young guys still play and play hard. No thanks to an aimless win.

I don't have a long purgatory drought but as things stand right now with draft picks accumulated for 2027, core players outlook and who may leave in a porential tank job. This is hard to be confident about 2028 as a serious contender is an everything has to go right scenario, which rarely happens. Also, not sure they have a reliable core leadership group in place on either side of the ball to facilitate a quick turnaround. The Kelces, Coxes, Johnsons, Grahams etc. Leadership gap and void is there.

That new Seahawks owner should just make these throwbacks their standard uniforms and helmet.

No offense go look around the NFL right now and tell me who is a legitimate contender. The Buffalo Bills are giving up 29 points per game on defense. That is one of the legitimate contenders. Jags nearly lost to us down a boatload of guys and then lost to the Texans. Have a bad pass defense. Niners are an older offense besides purdy. Their best playmakers are 34 year old kittle. 33 year old Mike Evans. And cmc who’s 30 going on 31. Rams might have Stafford retire and Nacua is a FA at the end. Bears in the nfc might have the longest sustainability as a contender due to Williams and his weapons but bad defense. Steelers 5-2 and browns 5-2 are frauds. Bengals burrow is 4-2 and really they are considered a contender. Broncos and Minnesota have offense ms that are not good yet currently both contenders. Chiefs have mahomes and reid so they are usually right there but even last year they had a season of death like us.

The landscape of the NFL is telling me over the course of two off-season’s that if the Eagles have good or solid offseason couldn’t get themselves back to being a contender. the contenders right now aren’t great teams.
