By 2022 we made a massive jump cause we had a lot of draft capital and howie made good moves. Howie when he has to build up tends to do a great job. It’s when he has to sustain that things tend to be somewhat an issue. In the next 2 years we have enough top 3 round picks and some cap space to work with in 2028 to get ourselves back there.Every time we think it’s going to be doom and gloom of 3 years or more rebuild we are back within 2 years. I still think with some cap space and picks that the goal is to be back by 2028. Unless we are looking for a QB in 2028. I have a feeling it’s either going to be hurts or they find a way to get the Qb they wantProblem is Howie didn't strike any certain starters in the last 2 years where you can see the blueprint of a chamionship team. Makuba and Cambell I think are misses. And lots of projects in last draft. Lemon is just solid and is only a 3, a slot receiver. Nothing game changing here. 2 weak drafts are gonna set this back IMO. He needs a ton of picks and will be bad as we unload these vets in trades who are worth something. May take a couple offseasons to shed all of this. Again, I'm talking about a true contender. Not 9-8 or an 8-9 kind of team. Think we are slowly unwinding this thing in the next 2 seasons. Howie has pulled off some previous great turnarounds. But he's currently not on any kind of roll to be superconfident about it like many are. He's been a bad GM for the last 2 years.

I’d make the argument besides 2018 our drafts from 2017-2020 weren’t very good overall. It’s why 2020 kind went the way it did and 2021 was a reset type year. Then he got hot and they basically got back to a SB within 2 drafts. I kind of think you’re being overly negative right now. I also tend to think if they got better coaching, some of the talent would improve and they look better.I tend to think with the amount of picks they have in the next two drafts, you can make up for some of the poor recent drafts. Furthermore, I’m curious to see if Campbell actually develops. If you get to year three and he pulls in the Dean it changes perspective on him. Dean was not good his first two years either. I’d add book isn’t completely written yet on Stowers, lemon, Kendall and bell. Even if it’s not optimistic right now
October 25Oct 25 I don't often like changes the NFL makes, but I do like that they got rid of the force out rule many years ago. Not much goes in the defense's favor, but I like they can use the boundries to their advantage like the Packer defender just did.

While everyone else is being more positive, while the team still stinks. Too much Howie love in here and I need to balance that out. Ha. Having a Devil's advocate is good. If Hurts is not here in 2028. We are starting over. How would a first-year QB and or Free agent make us an instant contender. That's optimistic to me. If this is a full rebuild I don't see Hurts in the big picture. Next year is just a nothing year basically in spinning wheels and not having any stability. If we were a couple players away by the end of next season, then I can see Hurts staying past 2027. Think the timelines are just off here with everything on this roster. And this is a longer process that has to play out.

Think the timeliness are just off here. And this is an untimely process that has to play out.I think 2027 is what 2021 was. It’s going to be a reset year for the team. Furthermore they could in fact draft hurts successor in the 2027 draft and he’s the starter in 2028 as hurts is here in 2027 regardless due to his contract. Whether think he is good or bad that is a possible reality. Been QBs in year 2-3 that have gotten their teams to being contenders so i don’t think it’s out of the question.See howie gets too much love, which I would agree with because I didn’t like his Greenard trade, didn’t love the lemon pick or Stowers. However, I also have to give him credit, when things look bleak for the Eagles in the past he has come up big. Maybe that doesn’t happen. But I’m also not gonna rule it out because everything stinks right now and they’re going through 2020. I lived through 2020. It was probably worse than it is right now because I don’t think they had nearly the defensive talent at that time or offensive talent when guys are healthy at that time. The Eagles aren’t stock piling all these picks for no reason. They have a boatload of picks in the top 100 the next two years. If you hit on a good portion of them, it could change your fortune. The 2023 and 2024 draft really changed the Eagles fortunes in 2024. Got Carter, dejean and Mitchell. Even hunt and smith (great in that 2024 run). It changed everything with how we felt. Also don’t think the book is finished being written guys from 2025 and 2026 drafts. Like bell and Kendall. If they are good that helps a lot along the oline.I’d add just overall perspective the 2027 is expected to be better than the 2026 and 2025. It’s why I’d sell and get picks for this upcoming draft.
October 25Oct 25 I like Dan Campbell, but man is he wreckless at times. That was a good yard and a half.

Not what he did on 2020 as my hopium. If some of these young guys look like true 5 year starters then that's another story. We still haven't assembled a strong draft stash for 2027, which could jumpstart this whole deal. Howie needs alot of picks to take advantage of risking it on a QB (who usually bust in the NFL). Tons of needs here that have been understated. So many other team needs. Will Howie be able to accumulate premium picks with trading the likes of Woolen, Ojomo and others. Most likely fetch only 3rd or 4th rounders (which may just mean we keep them and wait for compensatory picks which delays this further). It's nice to have those. But those are not guaranteed starter types usually in the draft and usually need time to develop. Now if we are talking about the real value pieces like Cooper, Mailata or Devanta for trade. Then we are taking a huge hit in short term. And when will they decide to unload them (cap reasons and fan disinterest issues)I think we are stuck in alot of ways to just grin and bear this for next 2 years and will take some time to unwind all of it. With bad timelines not matching up for a quick retool and the Hurts situation overhanging it all. And coaching needing straightening out on top of this. Fangio could be done as well. Could be an entire coaching overhaul. A lot instability and uncertainty here everywhere. They can't even find a competent OC here on most years. They have gotten bad for a reason here. Lots of bad stuff happening. Probably Howie's toughest job to date.

This team is closer to the Lower echelon of teams than top. We are at the end of an era now. It's hard to concede. That's where we are. So many tough decisions to follow here. Letting go of certain guys won't be easy, but they have high trade value and may be aging. We are no longer in that superbowl window everyone was fooled into thinking we were in. This is a laughably dysfunctional franchise right now. From top to bottom. Not getting solved anytime soon or in one offseason. Talent gap, leadership gap and a coaching gap. Settling for at best, a mediocre team and record will not make us any closer to a superbowl contender, which is what fans should expect to be since 2025. Not lowering the bar. Need to drastically change this entire outfit. We aren't close....But if Howie sells hard and we can put a personnel dept together that can make good picks we could be good again quickly. We have a number of players not part of the rebuild that other teams want. We just need to commit to selling and Howie has to work the cap to cover the big cap hits. The cap is going way up in a few years with tv revenue maybe doubling. Time to sell sell sell

Probably Howie's toughest job to date.I mean he did it after 2015. Was bleak then too. Had no Qb and chip basically dealt away talent. It was basically Jordan Matthews and Agholor at WR and cutting Demarco Murray and using Ryan Mathews. Oline also wasn’t complete either. Got us Brandon brooks and wiz (2017). Defense was also not good our corners were trash in 2015 and we had one good safety in Jenkins. You could be negative all you want. But he’s done it twice. This isn’t some kind of fluke where he got to a Super Bowl and won one. He’s managed to get to 3 in a 10 year window of time. Meanwhile we had some bleak outlooks after 2015 with chip to the point they had to settle on Doug who wasn’t their top choice. Then was bleak again after 2020. Heck I’d argue the collapse of 2023 it wasn’t looking great until that 2024 draft.I’d also make the case if they got better coaching in here some of these players may look better than what they do currently. I don’t think it’s out of the question that Jeff Stoutland is back in 2027 which may actually help the oline be better. I don’t think Nick Sirianni is gonna be back in 2027. (Before we go down the rabbit hole won in 2025. They weren’t good. So one year every five years they’re not good. I will take. Looking around the NFL to get four really good years and one down here I will take that every time)

October 25Oct 25 Officiating this year has been horrific across the whole league. Not even hotspots. If we were any good I’d be much more upset about this, but hopefully the league finally wakes up to this
