I’ll be turning 60 years old in just over a month and my sister sent a family text a few days ago asking if anyone knew if our childhood home was still standing. I’ve thought about going back to see i

DG missing time? Good thing they saw that coming and have a backup plan

And people think Ertz is the answer who will be 36 this year

Depends on what the question is.

Didn't you hear? We have EJ Jenkins and Grant Calcaterra. We are good there.

I chuckled a bit during the game when they had the temp gun out and were showing the effects of everything. Took me back to the golden days of the things i used to do for beer money with lethal doses of caffeine, ephedra, and nicotine in our systems, on a diet of beef jerky, jalapeño cheese spread and piss warm bottles of water. It’s oppressive, especially when you look around there is absolutely no hiding from it. At a certain point it doesn’t matter the surface, the sun reflects off everything. Any wind feels like you’re standing in front of a giant blow dryer. I always tell people who say they love the heat and hate the cold that they’re crazy. When it’s cold you can always add layers…when it gets to a certain level of heat you can only take so much off legally and then you’re at the mercy of that giant angry ball of fire in the sky melting your skin off.

Maybe I’m just old and finally have some what of a sense of self preservation, but even with their paychecks I’d have to think real hard about enduring that level agony again.

It’s NFL law that we have to play a road game every September in the south when the real temperature on the field is 175 degrees and it’s the most brutal weather imaginable.

Reproduce the effort?

Though I think we're going backwards since Goedert replaced Ertz

The question is... who is available that can be a solid, reliable receiving threat at the TE position. Mundt isn't that guy. EJ Jenkins isn't that guy. Stowers? Not yet. Who is on the market that could fit that bill for a few weeks? I'm open to hearing names. I've got none.

The play where he got hurt on didn't look like much. I remember seeing it live thinking it could've been a whole lot worse. But it's Goedert so he's made of glass. He'd miss two weeks with a hangnail. Wanna see if he can get back for the Rams game.

If you are looking for something that's in depth enough that even you might learn a thing or two, I'd suggest you check out 'jeffrey the librarian' on Youtube. He goes into extreme detail and minute by minute details. Pretty fascinating stuff.

I went and watched some of jeffrey the librarian's stuff on Gettysburg Day One and LOVED it. Great stuff, by far the best thing I've ever seen regarding the movement and placement of units. I'll be back to watch all the rest of his videos as time permits. I do have one little quibble - the shoes business. Jubal Early was at Gettysburg a few days before the battle and demanded a lot from the town citizens, including 1500 pairs of shoes. He got none. There was no shoe factory in the town, which the Confederates searched thoroughly. The myth about the shoes comes from an order from Henry Heth ordering Pettigrew to search the town for "army supplies" with "shoes especially" in parentheses. Yes, they needed shoes. No, there was no factory or warehouse there with shoes and nothing to indicate that there ever had been.

Other than that one quibble I loved everything in the video.

The last two offseasons from Howie were a major heat check. Not close to his best work and left a lot to be desired. Even putting the drafts aside, which I think people are actually giving up on foolishly too soon(even though I didn't love them going non premium positions as often as they did) their inability to adequately address TE and interior OL in a meaningful way is inexcusable. TE has been a looming need for years. Especially someone who can block. And their solution this offseason was Mundt and Stowers. Just gross. Howie can and should do better than such an unserious effort to fix that problem.

Don’t we need one that’s a good blocker for this system? Unless Ertz has changed he’s not the answer either. I don’t know who the answer is either

Speaking of giving up on foolishly too soon...

That's what you get for being in the stands with the poors instead of in an air conditioned suite

It was so hot he had to take his tied cashmere sweater off his shoulders and put it on the seat next to him

That's supposed to be Mundt. Frankly, its not Goedert like it used to be either. We need Mark Bavaro!

I see Goedert is taking his mandatory 4 week break early this season

There were 2 things you had to plan for before this season ever began. Have a competent guy in waiting who can play at TE and Safety. As there were major injury concerns with the incumbents. The available internal options were hopium at best. Both issues are rearing their ugly heads and need to be fixed. Kicker may have resolved itself. Still paranoid about Jake. 🤣

I’m pretty in favor of signing Ertz if he’s healthy. Knows Jalen, helps in the RZ. No brainer really.

Schefter saying ertz is back on Monday night. Countdown. On PS and going to be promoted to roster

I don't see this as a bad thing. Ertz is nothing special at this point... he's likely Chad Lewis. But, you know... Chad was pretty good at what he was good at. Just find the soft spot in the zone... move the chains. That's all they need. His hands are as good as they ever were. His wheels are likely trash... but that's ok. And he costs peanuts, I'm sure.

Thats pretty desperate. Wonder how they wanna address the O-line
