It might be the new scheme, and Becton was likely a 1-trick pony mauler in the 2024 scheme. What shows up on tape is that the OL has been physically overmatched because of size and/or chronic injuries. Hope it is a scheme wrt Jurgens. It is not hard for DCs to watch tape and see how to stunt or bull rush past the left side of this line. At least moving Steen would correct some of this in pass protection. Hell, put Bell next to Johnson on the other side.

What kind of reality check is that?Their defense was elite last year, and their offense continued to get worse the entire season to the point of embarrassing. The only reality check needed is your argument.

Overall 35.7 (might be off after the decimal). He was pretty awful even when you watched the chargers you saw it. Like you i think it’s telling no One brought him into camp

At halftime, he just bailed and said he couldn't take it. My t shirt under my jersey was SOAKED. Everyone around me was dripping with sweat just being in the stands.

No credibility. It lost it when they ranked a QB performance higher for a guy who was pulled from the game at halftime in a game his team lost, compared to the Eagles QB who threw for 3 TDs, 0 INTs in a game the Eagles won.

Just kind of re-affirmed what i was seeing when i watched him. @LeanMeanGM discussed his contract and said he was getting cut at the end of the year cause he was awful when he played and had some off the field things too

But, I know what he did here. New OL coach now, so maybe its all moot.
September 21Sep 21 Smith nearly had a 3 TD game.Undertow where Hurts failed to navigate a pocket and step up to evade the hit.And final play when Smith fell he looked like the primary read on the bootleg.

Playing a game on artificial turf hot enough to melt cleats is completely insane. The weather conditions are a big reason why i'm not going to spend a lot of time talking about the shortcomings from this game.I believe yesterday was probably the worst conditions a team has played in....maybe ever. Intense heat and humidity is much worse than extreme cold or even precipitation. Not to mention that Nashville has been a weird place to play, and the game itself was a little trap gamey (in between a division game and Chicago), I was thrilled to get out of there with the W, regardless of anything else.

They just walked back to the locker room for halftime. Mariota was the only one who came onto the field and looked concerned.Because there are 5 linemen and they can't be in his presence in that number out of respect.

Even early season games when it’s 80 degrees is rough. I would have never worn a jersey. On the flip side - I was at the Dallas game in 2017. It was 10 degrees I think. I had on about 5 layers, long Johns, two pairs of socks, and was still freezing my ass off. Wasn’t worth it and it was a horrible, meaningless game on top of that. It’s gotta be somewhere between 40-75 for me to go to a game.
September 21Sep 21 I don't see Becton signing - hasn't been in a TC anywhere, no idea what shape he in, etc. Best offer is a workout and a look/see on the PS, but I'd assume the team look at a recent TC cut first

September 21Sep 21 Ian Rappoport just reported that Dallas Goedert has an MCL sprain, and will miss a few weeks. No surprise. That's just the MO with him.
September 21Sep 21 This guy got away. Probably have long career in NFL. Only because we had to keep 3 bad backup QBs or misuse IR & PUP spots.
September 21Sep 21 3 hours ago, vikas83 said:Just got back from Nashville. Let me start with this - hot doesn't really describe how unbelievably brutal it was. The sun was destroying everyone most of the game (some clouds showed up for a brief part of the 2nd half), and the field being turf...I've never been that hot. Everyone was sweating through their clothes in the stands, so I can't even imagine playing a game in that. Having a turf field in that weather is stupid.A win is a win, but...I chuckled a bit during the game when they had the temp gun out and were showing the effects of everything. Took me back to the golden days of the things i used to do for beer money with lethal doses of caffeine, ephedra, and nicotine in our systems, on a diet of beef jerky, jalapeño cheese spread and piss warm bottles of water. It’s oppressive, especially when you look around there is absolutely no hiding from it. At a certain point it doesn’t matter the surface, the sun reflects off everything. Any wind feels like you’re standing in front of a giant blow dryer. I always tell people who say they love the heat and hate the cold that they’re crazy. When it’s cold you can always add layers…when it gets to a certain level of heat you can only take so much off legally and then you’re at the mercy of that giant angry ball of fire in the sky melting your skin off.Maybe I’m just old and finally have some what of a sense of self preservation, but even with their paychecks I’d have to think real hard about enduring that level agony again.

But currently he’s better than anyone that’s available on the market. So I’d bring him. But I am curious to see if he can hit the ground running or if it’s gonna take him a couple weeks
