September 21Sep 21 I'm sure part of it is execution, but I'm beginning to wonder if Sirianni has put a conservative mandate as to not turn the ball over. He believes not turning the ball over and great defense wins games. I think last season should have been a reality check for him, that this is wrong. But how conservative this team is on early downs and has been for years between multiple OCs, I wonder if this is just going to be a thing as long as Sirianni is in charge.

Everything we were worried about besides the Oline on offense looks better and now we can’t block?!?!Sorry not yelling at you 🤣 just into the void

Someone in here reminded me (maybe @NOTW even if he licks windows on the weekends) that QB play across the league is just not where it was 20 years ago. The Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, gunslinging geniuses that just pick defenses apart from the pocket are the rare breed now. Hurts single-handedly won the game for the Eagles in week 1. Then he comes back in 157-degree field temperatures and has a game winning drive with precision, smart decisions, and confidence. So I'm giving him all the credit, especially with his lack of protection up front. Also, he is noticeably faster. 1st drive week 1 - he scampers to the outside to get the 1st down. I haven't seen him get around the edge like that in years. You're all ****ots!Even more impressive to me is he did that in those conditions. Heat takes such a toll on the body and mind. To do that at the end of a game after playing on a 145 degree field for four quarters is remarkable to me. It's his job but seeing them, reacting, and putting it on the money wasn't easy.

He has flaws but people magnify his flaws and ignore the flaws of every other QB they compare him to. And ultimately he’s much better at overcoming his flaws to produce wins than almost every other QB.

Oline just isn’t good right nowYou are right, the Oline isn’t good right now. The context of that reality is that the Birds are only 2/17ths of the way through the season (less than 12% of the way), so there is 88% of the season left to fix that … plus the team’s record is 2-0. They are one of only 8 teams out of 32 with 2 wins. Compare that to where they stood in 2024 after 2 games … on their way to the Super Bowl.

Add on top of that he plays reckless at times - he's just not helping his cause. With that being said, I'd keep signing him to small deals every single year because when he's healthy, he's awesome.
September 21Sep 21 I mean, I get that you like Kendall better at center, but this isn't great. I guess the optimistic take is he should get better. If you really wanted Kendall at center, put Cam back at RG and move Steen to LG (played the NFC Championship game at LG)? Could it be worse just because it's one more change?

Close to twice as many wins as losses. What kind of reality check is that?
September 21Sep 21 Just listened to Nick’s PC. It’s clear Howie is making a move at TE. Goedert sounded a bit ominous and he specifically said he knows Howie will do what it takes to improve roster

He appears to be the same lateral movement liability as Dickerson.

They just walked back to the locker room for halftime. Mariota was the only one who came onto the field and looked concerned.Could say more about Daniels then it does about his oline

September 21Sep 21 I do want to say one more time - I can't describe how brutal the heat and sun were. Playing a game on artificial turf hot enough to melt cleats is completely insane.
