Therefore, Republicans are the more socialist party.

Why don't democrats resist socialism the same way republicans do when democrats are in power?

Yes, if I concede the broad, unspecific claim that conservatives enact socialist policies while they're in power, why don't democrats block them from doing that in the same way republicans block democrats?

Because Dems goal when Republicans are in power isn't to shut down the US government. That's the Republicans goal because they know it'll hurt Democrats politically. Obviously, it isn't because they're ideologically at odds with socialism, otherwise they would continue their crusade when they're in power. They see curtailing spending when a Dem's in charge as a political opportunity, so they take it. Dems don't operate in that way. Like I've already said, if your goal is to cut debt spending/new socialist programs/big government, then the best combination is a Democratic President and a Republican House. But that's not your goal, so I'm not sure why we're having this conversation. You love socialism.

April 25, 20232 yr Can't believe this dude is running again. Both parties should be embarrassed this is the BS they put out and as the public we need to demand better candidates.

April 25, 20232 yr Biden coming in like a big boss for his 2nd term campaign. Personal freedom. I love it. I'm not sure how you could vote for anyone else. Unless of course...you hate freedom.

"Vote for the candidate you disagree with the most because congress will probably stop the candidate from doing the things you disagree with." Nice try though The thing about that meme is that it's exactly how it works. When Republicans (especially under Trump) control the WH and the House, they spend at record levels and fully embrace socialism. But with Biden at the helm and a Rep House, the deficit will decline and they'll pass very little in the way of legislation. It's not a 'probably' situation, it's a guarantee. Or you can pretend that voting for the guy who wants the feds to build 10 Communist ghost cities is all about smaller government.
