Agreed. I'm not one to stick up for Chip Kelly, but I'm pretty sure this is what he meant when he said the draft is over-hyped.

5 QBs went in Round 1.  There were not 5 1st round talents... which is why there are good options to be had early in Round 2.

We only have ourselves to blame.  The drafts in Philadelphia were legendary and now all the NFL tries to do is match (or replace) all of that energy and excitement.  They should just have it in Philly every year, imo.

I can think of at least 3-4 other "reaches" as well.  At least 6-12 1st round talents left, imo.

I was wondering earlier, quite sarcastically, if after the Jalen Hurts comments last year about over drafting him in the 2nd round, whether the Pats wasted a first round on Mac Jones because the scouting reports raised concerns about his lack of arm strength, or whether the 3rd overall pick comments in the build  up did the lad a solid for him being drafted at 15. Perception vs reality

He wanted to draft Taylor Hart in Round 3, saw Jordan Matthews as better than Adams, and had to make sure we landed Josh Huff...  so, I'm not convinced, those 3 moves would qualify as disregarding the importance of the draft for talent acquisition... oh and traded McCoy to get his Oregon LB.   

 

 

Crap... there goes one target.

The Jaguars signed a big money corner, drafted Henderson in round 1 last year. Now a top of the second round corner? Seems like overkill.
