I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Trent Cole 2.0?    That would be nice.    Let's hope.

Nothing close to the bend Trent Cole exhibited.  Still, I like the pick.  Has some pass moves and good use of strength. Lack of bend means he plays too upright at times.  Our #5 DE.

How much money is Ridgeway getting?  He’ll have to outplay that contract, not just Ridgeway.

We have Cox, Hargrave and Ridgeway pretty solidified as the top 3. Id assume USC and Milton Williams compete for the 4th. Or else, Milton Williams is really primarily a DE, so USC is actally our 4th DT. In which case, he has no competition ahead of him for playing time in that role.

Having him again, where he needs to preform in a contract year isnt a bad thing. Considering his non-existent production last year it almost feels like he would be an addition to the offense along with Smith.

You have to wonder if the remaining vets, especially Kelce have met with Ertz and Sirani to talk about the team.  Ertz clearly was upset and bothered by things but he's also a total professional.  I would rather have him here if they aren't trading him.  The time to trade Ertz was 2019 timeframe.  The fudged that up.  Who knows at this point.

I dont know I remember some trades adding picks next year. I cant keep it all straight. I know we are loading up.

Zach Berman didn't list those in the picks for 2022.

Jeremiah highlighted him out of the last 10 picks as the one to discuss.   Had him #126.

Oh then he’s a probowler for sure

Ridgeway is basically a league minimum player who has an $80,000 cap hit if cut.

Ridgeway counts $950k against the cap.  $80k in dead money if cut.  That won't be a factor.

This is true. As I have said before, Gross Matos was supposed to be the man, and Toney was better. Then Oweh was supposed to be the man, and Toney was unquestionably tons better. And yet, here is Toney still not picked.

I suppose the aim outside of Smith was to stockpile talent to groom for a year or 2 down the road.

then I guess we dont have them. I had a question mark on my post for a reason. I dont remember what all we got but I know we added a few.

hes pretty good. I dont see either draft pick knocking him off the team.

I forgot about Jake Funk.   We need to sign him as a UDFA.

I can do without the Brady puff piece.

I am interested in the coaching/teaching they are about to receive..grab the talent and coach it up

Was just some wishcasting.   Remember, I decided to take Brent Celek over Cole in the 5th round earlier today.

225 and 240 for a 5th rd pick in what might be the deepest draft in memory (b/c of all the kids staying for an extra season).

Highway robbery.

Even better, we kept the first comp pick so, Wash can't take anyone we want.

The 84th pick this year isn’t a premium pick but a 5th next year is highway robbery?

I think Toney's issue is his tweener status.   He looks like a 3-4 OLB guy.

If this is the though process, that scares me.

Funk

Felton

Brightwell

3 Id be interested in if they reach UDFA

He's 231 lbs. so a switch to LB'er is in order. That transition is a challenging so he might go in the 7th or be a priority UDFA. We'll see.

We need the Funk.

We gotta have the Funk.

If so then they've seriously spoilt Gannon. Letting him have some kind of influence on a sixth round pick. Calm down Howie.

Honestly, I'm surprised by 3 DL picks with no LB or S.

Jackson is a player.  How many DL are we carrying?  Is my Joe Ostman dream dead?

Milton Williams might save them a roster spot if he can play DE and DT

BG

Barnett

Sweat

Jackson

Cox

Hargrave

Ridgeway

Williams

Tuipulotu

That's 9 on the DL if you keep all 3 rookies.  Do you keep Ostman as DE5?

Trading a future 6 for a future 5 is just good process.

We all disliked having to trade up for Smith, but that was the cost of getting a Tier 1 player in this draft.

Seriously... you can't make this stuff up.  The wind blows in whatever direction Howie exhales in afan's world.

For a late 6th and late 7th in a thin draft? Getting a 5th in what should be very deep draft.
