You know, I’ve heard it said so many times that with so many needs, we can’t afford to take a risk like our 2nd pick. But I’d argue we are in exactly the right position to take a risk for such a high reward.

The beat writers are as dopey as this board. Last month it was 3-4 wins woes me. Now the team has added a potential star WR, a 1st for next year, foundational players in the trenches and what looks to be a great RB pick. Did they get a completely new team and solve all the holes? No. If you accept that they will be a possible 8 win team next year,  don't go berserk because the DBs and LBs are weak and recognize that this has to be a multi-year rebuild after years of hanging on to players, bad drafts and relying on FAs then this looks good. It is a good focus to build in the trenches and add a couple of weapons to the offense. Next year the team is lined up to either address the QB situation and/or CBs. The new coaching regime will have to make the LB case because clearly that is not a strategic priority. Heck, they might have enough firepower in next years first round to make an offer to GB. If Rodgers is going to retire, GB just missed all the action because the QB needing teams drafted. I like Hurts but I'd do the Eagles 3 possible 1sts in next year's draft for Rodgers (a total pipedream).
