Roseman trades back from 6 to 12 for a future first round pick and the hoagie mouths complain that they passed on ''generational talents'' in Pitts and Chase and chant fire Howie even louder.  Fast forward a month and Pitts and Chase are both gone before 6. Roseman gives up an extra third to jump a division rival and snipe them for Devonta Smith who they likely would have taken had they stayed at 6 anyway. Great pick and masterful manipulation of the board to add a huge future asset. People still Fing **** and whine complain though. Oh, they drafted lineman in the second and third round and I wanted a corner and lb, fire Howie he sucks, blah blah Fing blah. My god some of you are just negative miserable Fs.

And just to prove to fans that Howie Sucks...he selects a 2 time torn ACL Center /OG at the top of the second #37. Loved him moving down. I am OK with Smith..Everything also so far is Kaka.

Mosher and Caplan said tonight that corner was very top heavy in this draft and after the first few guys there was a huge drop off. One of them said a high ranking AFC personnel guy told them Stokes was a major reach at the end of round 1 and that they had a 3rd round grade on him. The worst thing they could have done would have been to reach for a corner or any other position which is what often leads to draft busts.

Yeah, Mosher and Caplan also mentioned how the second round corners in this draft are considered low end #2 corners. Long term that’s not going to help build a championship team, imo. I’d rather take a guy with more upside at another position.

We're going to have to quickly sign a street free agent CB

Steve Nelson anyone??

Well I disagree that he should have been picked at 70; I believe he belonged up there in round 2.

Peiole are trashing the pick because of the Howie video.

People are trashing the pick because he wasn't on many Radars until his pro day. He had one of those crazy test outs and then hype shot him up the board. His production was meh against ever meh'er competition.

Some people are saying he fits well in the stunt and twist rotations that Gannon likes. They say his athleticism will really shine. Seems to make sense to me. Wasn't immediately happy with the pick but coming around to it now that I understand how well he fits the scheme. Kids got a great attitude as well.

I kept hearing he was a 2nd rounder. So he slipped down for some reason. But I like the pick.

A lot of needs for this team. They all won't be filled with this years draft.

Like I've said before, I get why people are frustrated. Having said that, you slapped a kid on the line (games are won in the trenches) who has an absolutely insane spider chart and athleticism, capable of playing DE or inside. Worth the pick in the third IMO.

His production was pretty good, I think. But also, people have been saying his pro day athleticism shows up on tape.

10 sacks and 100 tackles over his last two seasons gives Williams the production to go along with the crazy testing numbers. For a third round pick the kid has incredible upside. This isn't last year where they drafted a kid with a great athletic profile and very little production or football experience. to go along with it.

Btw, to make this pick even worse - next year is supposed to be a loaded DE class and we’ll have four picks in the first two rounds.

Great, because we will still need to draft several more linemen, as well.

Everyone should read Tommy Lawlor's analysis of this pick on Igglesblitz.  He came away very impressed with his play and athletic ability, the latter of which is apparently freakish.

I think this is a very good pick. I don't know a ton about Williams but what I've read and watched since the Eagles made the pick I do like.

And the upside of having four sixth round picks in this draft instead of three is?

Ability to move around, move up and down, acquire more picks next year?

Tune in today and find out. I question the same thing, but I liked him far better than Robinson and McNeil so I don't really care.

I agree. I wanted them to go corner early and often but the value hasnt been there with any of their picks. I'm thinking/hoping they trade Ertz tomorrow and use the cap space to sign Nelson this week.

I agree that the CB talent was gone by early in round 2 but the dickerson pick was a real gamble and they could have had a decent cb there or with a modest trade up and still got a good center. However, even with Humphries, there were some good safeties with coverage skills available in the third like Cisco, etc. The could have helped the their DB situation with a solid pick there and gone for DE next year.

He wants top dollar. I love the kid though, wanted him in the draft a few years back. Solid player, mamba mentality, does a little bit of everything. But we got cap issues so we are gonna have to pass. Wait until we are going to be competitive before spending that kind of dough.

Sixth round picks are worth almost nothing this year.

3x LB and 3x CB. They can't all be bad...

I don't disagree but we don't know they are going to use them this year. Perhaps they pick up extra picks next year.

How many CBs have been drafted already? Like 20? Can all of them be really that good?

A lot of the corners selected yesterday were not consensus day 2 picks.

Exactly! Weak CB class so don’t reach.

Fully expecting them to give Steven Nelson a call after the draft if they don’t come away with a quality outside CB who can play opposite Slay day one.

No worries! They won’t go into the season with Maddox playing opposite Slay again. They’ll find a way to get a solid starter into the building.

I’m glad they’re not reaching and forcing picks. Outside of Surtain, Horn, Farley, Stokes, Campbell and to some extend Samuel, Melifonwu, Adebo and Molden, this CB class sucks.

Hopefully they get some really good players today. Still some talent left on the board...

I disagree. I still have 4 CBs available that should be targets.

1. Robert Rochell

2. Tay Gowan

3. Israel Mukuamu

4. Rodarius Williams

I want them to move up earlier in the 4th, and grab one of these guys. All 4 have great length and athletic profiles.

No, it really wasn't.

The lack of research that analysts have done on this pick is really astounding.  I'm listening to WIP right now, and Ray Didinger just compared Williams to last year's third-round pick, Milton Williams, stating that this was an "analytics-driven pick" of a player who has the athletic ability yet hasn't proven that he can play the game.  Ridiculous.  Just lazy analysis on the part of Ray, who doesn't have the best record when it comes to the draft, anyway (but no one can point this out because he is so revered in this city).

It feels like Tommy Lawlor is the only one who did any research on this pick.

Agreed with those CB’s, especially Rochell.
