They all voted unanimously in favor yet spent most of the meeting sh**ting on the concept of boosters reducing mild to moderate disease. Bizarre to say the least. That being said, even if this dingleberry had voted No, they'd still be still at 18-1.

VRBPAC just voted 19-0 on J&J boosters (see below). Next it will go to the FDA, then ACIP, then finally CDC. But with a unanimous vote like this, approval is basically a formality. The biggest difference with J&J from the other two is that overall protection was significantly less, and thus the panel voted to approve for everyone 18+, rather than 65+ and at risk like the mRNA vaccines. So basically everyone with J&J will be able to get a booster by next week. Though if you got the first J&J dose, I would try to see if you can get an mRNA dose as the booster rather than a second J&J dose. The difference in protection was notable from the NIH data we have so far. 1:30 p.m.: The panel voted on the following question: Do available data support the safety and effectiveness of Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine for use under EUA as a booster dose in individuals 18 years and older at least 2 months after a single dose primary vaccination? No, that's still under discussion. What was approved today was boosting a J&J first dose with a second dose of J&J. But the data supports mix and matching, and some pharmacies are allowing it, so it's more "under the table" as of yet. Best to talk to your dr. about it. Eventually they'll most likely approve that but as of now you can only get a second J&J dose if you want to play it strictly by the book.
