There is no way to know how many vaccinated people had prior COVID but just never tested for it. The authors even point this out. Most studies out there show the opposite and it seems pretty logical that the very best protection occurs when both natural and vaccine protection combine. All info is potentially helpful but pointing at this study and arguing a conclusion would be silly (you didn’t do that and I’m assuming that wasn’t your intention either).
October 30, 20214 yr Couple of govt commissioned reports have landed here in Sweden thru a federal "Corona Commission". 1 - COVID hit Sweden in a wave as Stockholm based families returned from their winter break weak in the Alps (largely from Italy and Austria) in the first week of March 2020. Authorities were too slow to enact any measures to limit the potential spread. Kids returning went right into school and parents right into their workplace. The effect was much larger than was measured at the time due to the nearly complete lack of testing. It took nearly a month before Sweden acted and by then the wave was already big, going huge, and had spread across the country. The other big mistake was the failure to protect nursing home patients who accounted for the majority of deaths (last I saw it was about 70%). 2 - Remote schooling has had a negative impact on students in many different ways and in particular negatively impacted kids whose home situation was less supportive OR who had other forms of non normal mental or physical challenges. The lack of social interaction, teacher/school interaction and support, etc. wasn't available to complement the support levels given in the home environment. Anxiety, depression, stress, etc. rose across the board in school aged kids but disproportionately in those that had poor support at home. Motivation also decreased generally across the board. The expectation is that there will likely be an impact generally in observed lost learning once these kids results can be measured over time. Actions will be created to try to recapture as much of the loss as possible as kids move thru their school years. Note: There aren't any good numbers here yet as too much of the national testing has been cancelled plus there hasn't been significant time and space as of yet to judge the details of the impacts on a macro level.
