My insurance gives us a credit for being a non smoker.  $50/pay cycle I think.  But it’s a box that you check. No way to prove either way.  We also get a credit for completing wellness activities like a biometric screening and health assessment.  Super easy to do. $1200 a year in "savings” off their already inflated premiums.

I would say the larger point is that its not just about those who die, its also about those they leave behind. Our decisions impact so many others. My buddy has a little girl that's just learning to walk and talk. I'm sure he would have liked out have his dad around in her life to watch her grow up. Anyway, its just sad. Covid sucks.

It would not surprise me if those boxes aren't there for purposes of the $50 credit as much as they are as a pretext to deny coverage if somebody lied when they checked the box.

my SIL's MIL has passed. i posted about her situation a few days ago. underlying conditions but covid landed her in the hospital and it was all downhill from there.

And I've never "gone after someone's kids" you moron. I've brought up past conversations about kids, but I'd never say anything bad about anyone's kids. I'm not like a certain poster with daddy issues.

My company does this but it's only a couple 100 off your premium for the year. It would cost that much to go to all the freaking appointments they want you to go to for the discount.

They came to our job before covid and did everything on work hours. They suspended it the last two years due to the pandemic though
