Look fellas - I understand your frustration.  You've sat at home for 2 years with your masks on with little to no contact with the outside world only to find out that none of it mattered, while the rest of us were busy seeing Hanson and mowing our grass with our new zero turns - basically living the best life possible.  I'd be a little salty, too.

I can only hope that while you were at home you spent your time getting in better shape and eating less junk food, but I highly doubt it.

^^^^^ This post right here is a microcosm of all that has gone wrong for the human species in the last several decades.

A revolution of thoroughly unserious people with with little-to-no information on any given subject slowly replacing what would otherwise be class of highly educated, serious experts in their fields. The human race is halfway to Idiocracy, and we're running towards it with our eyes wide open.

Oh no, someone who isn't a worthless government official and has a podcast has an opinion about something. This is Idiocracy!

I have no doubt you think about P often enough that you comment to strangers about it.

Well your post was mostly just making up something I didn't say while also missing the main point of what I actually said, so that you were completely wrong about at least half of your made up quote is kind of significant.

You sure do make a lot of comments about homosexuality - I can't decide if it's because you're in the closet or you're a bigot.  Either way, we're here for you.

Our oldest son (who was vaccinated a few months ago) just tested positive this morning. We're assuming it's Omicron because all of his symptoms are above the chest (sore throat, headache, congestion).

He's feeling bad at night but mild symptoms during the day.

That's fairly common in kids. Keep the humidifier on high and keep him hydrated. If the cough is getting dry/harsh particularly at night, or junkier and more persistent you may want to talk to his doctor. I've seen a fair amount of croup/bronchitis/pneumonia that has piggybacked along with COVID.

Glad things are mild for him. Hopefully he recovers soon like most kids.

Oh, so you haven't talked about COVID having a 99%+ survival rate?    Really?

Limited government until there's a virus with a 99.98% survival rate, then it's "protect me daddy government!"

True. I'm just hoping a lot of these VAERS reports are false because it sounds horrible. Imagine if you had a perfectly healthy 18 year old who wound up with severe complications or even died from a vaccine when even catching coronavirus would have resulted in a virtual lock certainty of survival at something like a 99.998% survival rate. So sad.

Quote

Wahh, someone doesn't think healthy young people who have like a 99.999% survival rate should inject themselves with a vaccine that was cooked up by big pharma over the course of 8 months. Liberals are such whiny little ****es.

Again, I'm sure you really believe that. And that's the beauty of living in the "I may be borderline mentally retarded but I create my own reality" bubble.

Go hard.

So doesn't the evidence show that this isn't a kid killer and really no need to give them the vaccine?

Is your wife an anti-vaxxer??

So then just to review:

KZAnne: The virus has 99.99% survival rate.  Who needs vaccines for something like this?!?!

Also KZAnne: omg Rodgers and Rogan got COVID and survived.  Thank god for ivermectin, it saved their life!

Post of the decade. There's a crazy amount of cope going on in here. It's been a helluva a week, but let's unwind what we're seeing:

  1. The vaccines have failed. Omicron is exposing just how worthless they've always been at preventing transmission. It's got to sting a little bit that these people have signed up for unlimited jabs of something that's a complete joke at this point.
  2. They just watched the geriatric patient who promised to stop the spread of the virus and eradicate it literally throw up the white flag and admit failure. He did this while underperforming Trump in virtually every metric.
  3. They're seeing the CDC backtrack on things at a speed they can barely comprehend. "Quarantine for 10 days if you test positive. Actually, forget it, half of that is fine." "If you don't wear your cloth masks, you're literally murdering grandma. Actually, it looks like cloth masks are completely useless lol." "You can go back to work if you don't have symptoms even if you are still testing positive lol sorry for saying otherwise."

This is all in the span of about a week. You have to realize that a lot of these people have also built their identities around coronavirus. These are the types of people that will cancel Christmas if a family member isn't vaxxed. They're the folks who probably have themselves wearing cloth masks in their Facebook profiles. So much of what they've built their lives around for the last two years just gone. It's the carpet being completely ripped out from under them.

You know the argument is strong when the made up quotes come out!

CDC intensified recommendations when there was a more deadly variant popped up and more data cane to light, and it was fear mongering and government overreach.  Now they've softened quarantine protocols in the setting of a less deadly variant and more research into the infectious phase, and it's an admission of defeat and proof that they've been lying all along.

Many of the guidelines they set were completely arbitrary from the start. Cloth masks, particularly, are worthless and they've known it for a long time. But you're right, it's all good because The Science is just changing is all.

But I'm happily not married so try again.

To answer your question, yes, the survivability rate is incredibly high. I stand by that now, more than ever, obviously.
