Well, GF has something. Started with an upset stomach this afternoon and progressed quickly to a headache, chills, and significant fatigue. Temp is 99.3 so fever is borderline. I really haven't been around her much the past couple days since we work different schedules, but we did spend the past weekend together. PCR test is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Guess I'm sleeping on the couch tonight.

When? No clue.  But transplant criteria is cold math and always has been.  As it should be.  A donated organ is a gift, and it's only right it go to the person who can make the best use out of it. That unfortunately goes for both uncontrollable factors (eg prognosis and predicted years left) and controllable ones (eg refusal of vaccines or substance abuse). If the world were flush with organs this would be different but it isn't. Really **** decisions have to be made.

If you guys have an at-home test, she can take one now if she's already symptomatic. If you're still asymptomatic, you might want to wait until day 3 or 4 from when you were last exposed to her. Viral loads typically peak at day 5 following exposure, but symptomatic periods can vary a bit more.

I’m sure the decisions are crap for sure. Don’t envy the folks who have to make them. I assume all other standard vaccinations are part of the criteria, so I wonder if it’s a generalized vaccine criteria that Covid vaccines fall under or if the Covid vaccine is some kind of separate addendum. I mean, I of course knew about alcoholism, smoking, drug use, etc. This one kind of shocked me. But, I do get the logic behind it, even though I personally don’t like it.

We don't currently but I might be able to get one tomorrow morning. Is it typically taking several days for PCR results? It wasn't easy to find an appointment, but she got one at Rite Aid.

Took 5 days when I had my daughter tested a couple weeks ago but it probably varies quite a bit by area. It was a rite aid for us too and the weird part was they made me administer the test to her in the parking lot and bring the swab (in the buffer solution tube) back to them. I also had to answer like a 30 question survey just to book the test. Everything's been a real sheet show lately.

Endless bloodwork.  Case reviews with medical boards. Multiple times thinking she had it and then not.  And finally getting the call.  And I watch now and she waits for her kidneys to fail.  You won’t win this debate with me, Which is really is not a debate, but hard fact.  Every single person on a transplant list is given a med score.  You don’t have a name or a little moral compass, you have a patient number and a score.  And when your number is called, you go.  People who are unvaccinated against a deadly global virus that kills more people every single day than 9/11 don’t get a good Med score.  It’s that Fing simple.

I meant "fully vaccinated" in that I have had the two immunizations which used to qualify as fully vaccinated, and still does as far as I am aware.  I know that we have attempted to move the goal posts to include a third "booster" dose as being "fully vaccinated," which my primary care physician did not recommend for me personally as I had a pretty bad rxn to the second dose.  

I have yet to test the 5G signal.  Is this important?

If you hadn't quoted that particular phrase I wouldn't have said anything. It just looks funny. 

Rodgers told people "I'm immunized," which was really him evading the specific term vaccinated as he felt whatever natural immunity (or from eating moon rocks or whatever Shailene Woodley has him doing for poon). You "air quoting" seemed like it might imply you're relying on something other than vaccinations or even whatever protection from having bad Covid.

I'd recommend a booster, but I would still say having both original shots is fully vaccinated. Just probably not as good as with the booster.

Girlfriend's been out cold since I assume about 9 PM last night. Tried calling her at the store after she asked me to go out and get juice and crackers but no answer and haven't heard from her since. I've been trying to completely avoid the bedroom or even really going upstairs, for that matter, but it's a little concerning I haven't heard or seen any signs of her. I slept pretty well downstairs last night, all things considered. I left a rapid test on the table for her before I left this morning. Guess I'll wait until around lunchtime to start checking on her. 

Edit: She just woke up. Fever is now up to 100.2 and she's gonna try the rapid test.

You probably already know but there are more false negatives than false positives in those (i.e. a negative doesn't mean she's not infected with as much confidence as a positive.)

Yeah, I'm aware. She just took it and got negative result but says she doesn't think she did it right (I half expected this.) Said she didn't squeeze the q-tip in the packaging and doesn't think she swabbed deep enough (ugh, I told her to read the directions carefully). So now she thinks she should try again. I'm wondering if I should go home during lunch and try to administer the test to her, but I'm really trying to avoid additional exposure. She's gonna try doing it again herself.

Typo in my post, should've said more false negatives than false positives. As for exposure, if you have a good fitting kn94 or better, you should be okay. But yeah, 15s in each nostril, then a good squeeze into the buffer before squirting a few drops onto to the strip. Don't sweat the one she already did too much, you can always do one again tomorrow if you think it wasn't done right.
