January 26, 20223 yr Deaths "because of" Covid or just "with" Covid? No one really knows at this point.

As for exposure, if you have a good fitting kn94 or better, you should be okay. But yeah, 15s in each nostril, then a good squeeze into the buffer before squirting a few drops onto to the strip. Don't sweat the one she already did too much, you can always do one again tomorrow if it's negative. Took another one and said she definitely did it right this time, still negative. Maybe it's flu. Hopefully she gets the PCR results relatively soon.

January 26, 20223 yr Just think how bad it would be over there if they didn't get the 4th booster though.
January 26, 20223 yr Saw the conversation about who should be receiving transplant surgeries and remembered this story from a few days ago. Regardless of what people think it's pretty amazing how this can even be possible. I wonder how long this guy is going to last since transplant human organs sometimes don't even take let alone a genetically modified pig heart. https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/01/13/pig-heart-transplant-stabbing-david-bennett/ The ethics of a second chance: Pig heart transplant recipient stabbed a man seven times years ago

January 26, 20223 yr Great job by Tulsi in calling out the Biden admin for limiting life-saving monoclonals. Insane decision by the administration, but it makes a lot more sense if you understand how evil the death cult is.

I used to think Tulsi was a brainless bimbo, but to be able to tweet that with Putin's D in her mouth the entire time, is actually kind of impressive.

Man, nothing fires up this lolbertarian more than an anti-war politician. Imagine being this triggered that 18 year old American kids aren't going to be shipped to Ukraine's border.

January 26, 20223 yr As I suspected, the Swedish national health agency has just declared that we are likely to run two more weeks of restrictions and then drop everything given the ubiquity of Omincron across the nation. We are experiencing as much as 5% of the population per week being added to the list of people affected and that builds on top of six weeks of rampant Omicron plus a very high level of vaccination. This follows the lead of Denmark who announced the same situation and who are lifting all of their restrictions heading into next week. Overall, we've handled this surge very well. Everything is still operating and running and the shelves in the grocery stores are normal. We've had some instance of closure of local schools due to personnel sickness and we've had minor disruption in regional trains also due to a lack of personnel who have been quarantining. Everything else has been fine, the hospitals have not been overrun, and deaths have been minimal and not even 10% of the earlier waves. On the anecdotal level, all of my friends have the same story as I do and that of my wife. 80% of people have been able to keep right on working at home while some have missed a day or two. Some rare isolated cases of people missing up to a week of time and some of those people also had the flu.
January 26, 20223 yr GF said she went to urgent care and got tested for 'rona AND flu...both negative. They told her to re-test on Friday.

Sounds like she's got a horrible case of hypochondria. Happens to ishlibs a lot these days. Gets a scratchy throat and convinced they're dying of the Rona. Hope she feels better soon.

It's super weird and sad/pathetic how many people seem to WANT to get it, or at least test positive so they can tweet about it. Two negative tests already? Can't be right, better get a third! My wife's one co-worker and her husband were both sick over the holidays, both tested negative MULTIPLE times, and she is STILL telling people that she had COVID. Says "she just KNOWS that's what it was"

Says "she just KNOWS that's what it was" Honestly, given how mild Omicron appears for those that are vaccinated/boosted, I know plenty of people who WANT to get it and just be done with it. If it weren't for having immuno-compromised family members, I might feel the same way at this point.
January 26, 20223 yr If you are fully vaccinated then getting COVID may very well be a very good thing assuming of course that you aren't in a high risk group. The additional protection from the natural immune response is quite significant and you are very likely to not get seriously sick due to your vaccination protection. Also, let's remember that the effects of vaccination wane and do so far quicker than the natural immunity. That's what the studies suggest to date.

No, smart guy, she is definitely laid up pretty badly and was told at urgent care to not go to work and to avoid contact with anyone as much as possible.

In fact, you are very likely far better getting sick now with your full vaccination protection then getting sick in say five or six months when the protection from the vaccine is likely to wane and you'd be less protected from a more serious case.

Says "she just KNOWS that's what it was" You seem to have trouble following. The first rapid test she took, she didn't administer correctly. So she did a second time and tested negative. Since she was feeling like complete dogshit, she went to urgent care to get tested for the flu. But she also automatically got tested for COVID because the policy is to test everyone admitted with COVID symptoms. She didn't ask to be tested a third time.
