You sleep again. My kids all were sleeping overnight after a couple mos. Maybe I was lucky, but most parents I think had a similar experience.

I don't believe Paco is a new dad IIRC, but one thing I tell most new parents is that you cannot forget entirely about self care. Obviously the baby is the most important need, but if you're in a situation where the baby is fed, clean, and attended to but simply will not calm down, and you're at the end of your rope, put the baby down in a safe space and find a moment of sanity. Babies learn to self soothe, and some have periods where they cry for no apparent reason, or at least for no reason that you can readily resolve. And if you're unable to provide soothing support, you need to make sure that at least you don't forget to take care of yourself too. You're no good as a parent if you cannot function.

There's a fine line of course, and you gotta make sure you're not ignoring obvious signs or anything, but sometimes babies need to cry it out and learn how to deal.

I have a 5 and 10 year old and get plenty of sleep.  Daddy's not dead, he's sleeping until noon.

Sleep is overrated.

Absolutely false. Sleep is as critical as food and water. Studies have shown that during sleep, cerebrospinal fluid circulates through the brain, clearing plaque. It is essentially washing garbage out of your neurological networks. Research has shown a correlation between Alzheimers and chronic lack of sleep.

Do your research!!!!!

(Don't worry, not in video form)

Start sleep training habits ASAP. Doesn't work for everyone but still don't wait until their 6 months old to try and establish a sleep-wake cycle or sleep habits.  Doesn't mean you have to constantly let them "cry it it out" but structure, routines, and teaching kids the ability to self soothe is huge.

If it's not in video form and backed by a yoga instructor, how do we know it's true?
