The news tonight still daunting. My county has a high vaccination rate.  Their website I haven’t checked but they pretty much shut down the weekly dashboard stuff.  I was in a medical facility today and have absolutely no issue wearing a mask.  Thankfully I did not have to wear it while in the machine.  I scored another see ya in 6 months on the left breast.  It is a benign finding. It could be worse.  I absolutely hate going to a dr and hate all these appointments  and now I have another issue.  Trying not to worry about COVID on top of all this. It’s nerve wrecking.  I will survive this virus.  I hope.  But who knows?   Traveling next month to Syracuse and Oswego NY.  I’ll cancel if this ish keeps going and I don’t feel safe.

Good luck D.

Don't worry most all the deaths are the unvaccinated. Everything will be fine, and If I say that you know it will be, just don't go to florida, or Arkansas or other places in stupidland

Seriously, are you cheering for the virus?

Anyway, this pretty much coincides with Israel saying the Pfizer vaccine isn't nearly effective against Delta and it looks like the majority of doses were Pfizer in Cyprus. Side note, Eisen also got the Pfizer vaccine. 95% efficacy for any vaccine was always an insane number and may have made expectations too high. Those vaccines (mRNA) were tested well before more variants were around.

The info out of Israel was an outlier and anyway the bottom line is keeping people out of the hospital, the vaccines do that for the most part

Completely agree. As long as those dying remain being the unvaccinated then the vaccines are the way to go. Point being that people will still catch COVID despite the vaccines. This shouldn't shut countries down again.

I mean, I think the logic of what he's saying is basically true: If a variant breaks through, natural selection will allow that variant to become more widespread and further mutate into something that is increasingly virulent. However, the implied conclusion that "these vaccines are doing more harm than good" is fundamentally moronic.

If you listen to what this guy says he never says "the vaccines are doing more harm than good".  What he says is "we don't know exactly how this will play out" and "we need to diligently pay attention and monitor the situation".  If you listen to his podcasts you'll discover he ends up defaulting to "take the vaccine" when any individual asks for his advice, i.e. he doesn't advocate not taking the vaccine.  Of course one would never know that by the sound bytes pushed up in here.

Edit: I'm talking about Bret W here.  Tucker is an idiot.

Stop it. You know what Tucker is pushing. The takeaway for the anti-vaxxers is "The vaccine could be doing more harm than good". Don't blame "sound bytes pushed in here". This type of nonsense pushes anti-vaxxers even further in the other direction and is exactly why were finding ourselves in the situation we're currently in.

I'm not talking about Tucker.  I'm talking about Weinstein.  Tucker is an idiot.

I keep being surprised by the number of my Facebook friends who are anti-vaxers

it’s depressing

Yeah, I'm sure he's very respected. In this instance, he was a pawn.

Yeah, Tucker used him, agreed.

 wat?

Bret Weinstein defaults to "take the vaccine"? Have you paid any attention to him? The same Bret Weinstein that implies the cdc could be in pockets of big pharma? All the guy does is claim how well ivermectin works, how much "the medical establishment" (ooh scary) is trying to suppress that, and how potentially unsafe the vaccines are (again being kept quiet by the establishment.)

So with Israel making the claim that Pfizer is less effective against Delta, is there any news from Pfizer about the Delta targeted booster?

Not yet, their current application with the FDA is for a third dose of the existing vaccine. Their trial of the candidate targeting the delta variant doesn't kick off until next month. Depending on how long that trial runs, they may not be able to apply for an EUA for that until sometime in the Nov-Jan timeframe possibly.

I am. Consequences.

Nothing quite as ironic as the most evolved species ever to reside on the planet is wiped out with an "asteroid" of its own making.
