I wonder if DeSantis now regrets interfering with private companies when they chose to mandate vaccines for customers/employees.

If you want to say its a sad attempt at deflection, you have a point.  But your comment was that it was manipulated, which it wasnt.

parts is parts

Except the next sentence, which is very important to the context of the quote.

Not sure why you are struggling with it.  When you add the next sentence, it changes the context of the quote.

Why would people line up to take something, when it is promoted by a liar.

Yeah, fortunately I have a gym in my house. I would go crazy if I couldn't get that workout in.

Maybe this will help.  You are saying "skipping parts" and I *think* you mean "only taking one line and standing it on its own".

To me skipping parts means manipulating the sentence.  Like:

And I claim you said "The next sentence of the quote".  Which misleading memes do from time to time, take only parts of the quote and omit stuff in the middle.  But that's not what happened here.

Can we all agree it was a dumb cartoon and move on?

They didn't want to "give Biden a victory". Then they realized that it might reflect badly on them if COVID deaths are concentrated in their base.

oh how the tables turn

I have to imagine Republicans really thought COVID was overblown. It's the only explanation for them letting it get this far to begin with.

It'd be almost the same as if Biden and Harris had said that they wouldn't take the vaccine if it came out under the Trump administration, you know, to not "give Trump a victory".  Taken in the right context, of course.

Fing wankers - all of them

The UK equivalent of the FDA endorses vaccines for 12-15 yr olds, but final authority rests with their equivalent of the CDC (specifically ACIP).

Edit: correction, they already did give final authorization, but recommend it for at risk individuals or those that live with them.

Still months away from kids under 12 getting it, huh?

He sounds very worried.  Just the tone of his voice.

Unclear, but it looks like they already did authorize it with the caveat that it's only recommended for a subset of them. Though technically, parents could make their own choice in determining their level of risk. To be honest, I hope that's what happens here for U12 at the very least in the fall.

Agreed. It would be great if everybody was cleared to get the vaccine.

Yep.  I suspect there is less motivation to rush it thru for kids though.  Perhaps better to allow a bit more time to get more comfortable and certain with the data particularly when they can't easily set up real tests on kids given the added sensitivity.
