August 4, 20214 yr Mass evictions when those deferred rent bills come due and people have blown through their extra unemployment benefits and stimulus money on crap.

Parents should wear masks around their unvaccinated kids if they are out of the home but indoors somewhere yet they don't need to wear one around their unvaccinated kids at home? There is definitely greater risk when you are outside of your home in indoor public spaces, because there are more people and you don't know the behaviors and vaccination status of the people you are encountering. There is obviously still risk at home, but you should be able to assess that risk better. If the parents are not vaccinated, though, then it wouldn't be crazy to wear a mask at home, at least when in the same room as your kids.
August 4, 20214 yr Haha the fact that people think this is a good idea is hilarious. Our government is far past tyrannical.
August 4, 20214 yr Just canceled my trip to take kids to Disney World in September. F YOU FLORIDA YOU IGNORANT DBAGS!

It's so F'ing frustrating. These gd idiots are ruining this for everyone.

I would like to know what exactly would be the point of killing everyone that takes the vaccine? Like what is the benefit of killing off everyone that takes the vaccine? That is obviously the anti vaxx reasons for not taking it correct that and government over reach? It is confusing at this point, with the thought process.

They live in an alternate reality and I'm not sure there's anything that can be said or done to bring them back from their delusions.

The sad thing is the government is protecting these people and yet we still have this whole issue. Hell even with everything that happened last year with my parents they still refuse the vaccine.

The context here was vaccinated parents and unvaccinated kids and what parents need to do themselves to protect their kids. The guy had two shots. One was live in an interview. The other was hours later on Twitter. First he tells the parents they need to mask at home. Then he realizes that doesn't look too good and corrects himself later via Twitter saying what he really meant was that the parents needed to mask if in an indoor place with their kids to protect the kids BUT they don't need to mask at home. If vaccinated parents need to mask out in public indoor places to protect their kids then they sure as hell need to mask at home to afford the kids the same protection. He’s the NIH Director. He totally sheeted the bed.

Tons of people in packed restaurants. No delta variant. I think I’m in such peak condition that I either can’t catch it or if I do, I have no symptoms. I’m just built different, I guess.

August 4, 20214 yr I'm honestly surprised there's not a bigger outcry about this. Actually, no, this is CVON. I'm really not.

Quote In May, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia struck down the CDC’s nationwide eviction ban, concluding the moratorium exceeds the limits Congress placed on the CDC’s authority So they are openly defying the supreme court but it isn't a big deal because the cdc is run by people sympathetic to your preferred political party?
August 4, 20214 yr Governor of Kansas now says he wishes he never banned mask mandates. Hmmm, I wonder what changed his mind?
August 4, 20214 yr A fourth wave of COVID-19 is threatening to overwhelm U.S. hospitals in regions where large swaths of unvaccinated people provide little resistance to the highly contagious delta variant. https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/5452766001 Quote While previous COVID-19 waves mainly involved older and middle-aged adults with existing health conditions, the new wave is claiming young adults in their 20s and 30s who need breathing machines in hospital intensive care units, Clendenin said.

They're seeing the same mutation in the delta virus. There is no sign yet if delta plus is any more dangerous or contagious than the original delta variant. LINK Quote The virus hasn’t appeared to have gained traction on British soil, said Colin Angus, a public health policy modeler and analyst in England. The "plus” of the variant’s name refers to its K417N spike protein mutation, which was also found in some substrains of the alpha variant — the dominant strain in the country before the delta variant — but the substrains never got a foothold, he explained. "To date, there is no clear evidence that it conveys enough of a benefit to the virus to allow it to dominate the original delta variant,” he said. "So although it is clearly here, there is no obvious sign that it has gained a foothold over existing variants of the virus.” Angus also noted that delta-plus cases have primarily been in younger people but that preliminary data has shown that antibodies from vaccinated people are still effective against the variant. "This was in a very small sample,” he said of the data. "We need more evidence to get a clear picture about any possible advantage against vaccines that delta plus may have, but the fact that we haven’t seen it clearly outcompete delta despite having been found in several countries with high vaccination rates, suggests that any advantage can only be very small.”
August 4, 20214 yr I've heard comments from my in-laws that imply variants are made up and that "there's a new one every week." As if this information hasn't been publicly available for months now: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/variants/variant-info.html

August 4, 20214 yr Going to a Concert at Citizens Bank Park this month. I definitely plan on wearing a mask. These type of events could become super spreader events. Whatever repercussions come from their inaction they can sow. Odds are most will live, but those that don't...I lack sympathy for them. Especially at risk individuals.
