Well, like I said, it's going to be more subjective this time around. The FDA isn't in the business of determining need for anything that's deemed subjective. Whether one person is willing to take a drug to ward off a cold, or someone else is only willing to take drugs that prevent more severe systemic disease is not something they take into consideration. They can only say a drug is proven to be effective and safe, and that's as far as they go. It's up to the rest of the chain (federal agencies like the ACIP/CDC, state and local departments of health, and even your primary doctor) to inform you of your personal risk and provide guidance on whether you should sign up for a booster.

Now if you were to be arguing that the FDA should prioritize a U12 EUA before approving boosters, or that ACIP should provide more age stratified guidance, then that's absolutely fair. But in case of the former, the FDA can only review data once it's been submitted by Pfizer or Moderna, and they can't file applications on their behalf. And in case of the latter, ACIP can't provide guidance for something that's not yet approved by the FDA. Cart before the horse.

Yeah, this is the one I really want right now.

How do you think it works, captain Hanson?

literally the first result of the google search, captain napoleon:

Quote

Herd immunity occurs when a large portion of a community (the herd) becomes immune to a disease, making the spread of disease from person to person unlikely. As a result, the whole community becomes protected — not just those who are immune.

You and me both, dude. Every morning I wake up and check the latest articles hoping for some tidbits of info on how the trials are going and whether the FDA is poised let someone like Cody Meissner dominate the conversation with misguided notions at best, or deliberate and obstinate dissention at worst.

Yeah exactly, and with delta the threshold is much higher now. Is it literally 100%? No. That's not what Toast was saying either. But it's close to 90% for an R0 of 5, or 95% for an R0 of 7, and possibly even higher if breakthroughs are as undercounted as you of all people are constantly implying, meaning you're basically either choosing to get vaccinated, or choosing to get covid.

Great, awesome way of saying I was right again, little dude.

Toast never said it was 100%. Take the L... again.

He said there were two options, half man. Vaccine or virus. Get wrecked. Again.

He said crowd, not literally every single person. Take the L, Hanson fan.

Biden administration will require vaccination for nursing home staff

Yes, he said the crowd literally had two options, dinklage.

It's ok, bud. I'm here for you. Let's hit up that Train concert.

I saw Train open for Ben Folds Five a while back.  They were a good live band.  Better than I expected.

Please don't defend me to Kz! He's too stupid to understand. You could ask him what other options there are for herd immunity, but then he would just type more stupid.

Is that what you want?

You've been fed enough today, but I'll note this next time you refer to a group of people, so I can say you're suffering from dementia because your comment doesn't apply to literally every single person of that group, but instead only 95% of them. Thanks.

I like Ben Folds and Train. I'd have went to that concert.

I do not understand what is gained by arguing with KZ

I'm sure you will next time, little buddy. Until then pick up a dictionary so you don't look so ridiculous, would you?

For wegottabelieve? He gets humility and a lower self-esteem.

There is nothing at all to be gained from replying to him.

Yeah it's crazy to think trumpbots would be so vaccine hesitant. I'm not sure we'll ever figure out why.

Same reason minorities, and Phd's are, I guess, yet you all never call them out for it.

If the cult leader of minorities, and PhDs, come across with similar horseshit accusations of the FDA being in the pocket of big pharma, then you bet your ass I'll call those cult leaders out for it too.

OMG, stop it. Don't you dare try to suggest most Phds are vaccine hesitant based on that survey.

Oh yeah, money is no concern here at all.   It's becoming clearer every day that those in power realize that this pandemic is a threat to their power.  Why have we given them power?  To make decisions, because they know what they're doing.  Except they're just making it up as they go, because they don't know what they're doing.  If they did they wouldn't keep contradicting what they said the week before.  And if they don't know what they're doing, then why do we keep giving them power?  Because people like you blindly rush to the front lines to defend them.  What we have now is politicians demanding that doctors get vaccinated.  That's some serious science there.  Because who would know medical science better than politicians?  Certainly not doctors.  I'm pro vaccine.  I'll get the booster if they needed.  And I'll keep asking questions because questioning is far more important than your blind fealty.
