My point was, people are going to continue to die from covid. It isn't going anywhere and we have to live with that. It's harsh and it's hard but that's just how it is.
August 20, 20214 yr Our state dept of health has been running these ads on the local channels to try to encourage people to get vaccinated. It's basically a montage of people giving reasons for why they got vaccinated: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?extid=SEO----&v=213434606861270 So naturally a local filmmaker made a parody version and interviewed people for why they refused to get vaccinated:

August 20, 20214 yr Also a good recap of the "need" for boosters depending on whether you care about staving off any infection, or just care about avoiding a really bad one that could send you to the hospital:

I'll still be interested in getting the boost when it becomes available but requiring it for full vaccination is something I disagreed with.

August 20, 20214 yr So, my right arm has been stuck to a metallic lamp post for the past 17 hours. My chip must not be working, because I can't get any response from Overlord Gates.

How about this, I'll get vaccinated if you say something nice about me and like this post. And not one of those backhanded compliments, either. A real one.

August 20, 20214 yr On a more serious note, this sounds like a small step in the right direction: Most private insurers are no longer waiving cost-sharing for COVID-19 treatment https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/brief/most-private-insurers-are-no-longer-waiving-cost-sharing-for-covid-19-treatment/ Like vikas has been saying, it's been long overdue to make these idiots feel the consequences of their own actions.

They should make it more targeted. Cost sharing waived for the vaccinated. Zero coverage for the unvaccinated.

Yeah I couldn't tell if they're only killing waivers for the unvaccinated or for everybody. As a parent with two young kids, I would hope it's the former as that's a much better policy and incentive structure, but either way, the vast majority of the fish caught in this net will only have themselves to blame.

Not a lot of vaccinated are needing much treatment, beyond what you get for the flu.

August 20, 20214 yr 6 hours ago, Toastrel said: Not a lot of vaccinated are needing much treatment, beyond what you get for the flu. Breakthrough hospitalizations are rare but still happen, and for someone like a nurse who's vaccinated but has a much higher exposure risk, I still think it'd be better policy to keep the waivers in place for someone like them. Then there's the immunocompromised and kids. In any case, though not perfect it's still directionally good policy. Stop coddling the people that are overburdening our hospitals and prolonging the pandemic. Stop worrying about hurting their feelings or making them uncomfortable. They won't learn any other way.
