Did you know that more kids were shot in Chicago this year than those who died of Covid in the entire country?  I don't think anybody can rationally argue that there is not a crisis in Chicago right now - a city with some of the toughest gun control laws in the country.  What's your suggestion to stem this atrocity - should we send the national guard in and forcibly disarm hoodlums and gang members in Chicago who no doubt are illegally in possession of firearms?

It’s been a rough 2 months. My wife’s father went in for an xray because of shoulder pain and they saw nodules in his lungs. Turned out to be stage 4 liver cancer that had metastasized everywhere. Doing immunotherapy.
 

At the same time McNabb’s heart started to fail. Feel terrible for my wife.

That’s how it was for my father in law.  Went into VA hospital for another issue and found cancer.

I don't have the words.  I don't think anyone does.  I'm sorry.  I hope his last months are full of life.  I hope McNabb went peacefully and surrounded by love.  And I hope lynched gets some new aggressive antibiotic resistant form of syphilis.

Thanks man. McNabb went peacefully in his sleep. He had stopped eating for a few days, and the wife and I were beginning to talk about doing the humane thing. Just wanted to get through Labor Day weekend since our niece was visiting. Little guy took us off the hook and made the decision himself. 
 

My father-in-law is coming to grips with it. He lives outside Sacramento. Starting to look at moving mom down here once he is gone.

I know stage 4 sucks. 40 year friend succumbed 2 years ago. Thats life. We're all going to same Fing place in the end.

Get you FIL set up with a palliative care doc as soon as possible. They get labeled as death doctors but they're really about setting goals,  symptom management and coordination of care. They can really improve quality of life for people facing tough treatments and tough decisions.

Im more interested in how many of those covid deaths were tied into 5 and 8.
