Im hoping it was just another one of Joel's random illnesses, or exhaustion/dehydration. He looked spent in the 1st quarter. But after coming out of the locker room he made a few nice, athletic plays that seemed to indicate that he wasnt injured. I also saw him later jump to swat a ball that was shot after a whistle, as players often do.... but I wouldnt think hed be doing that extra stuff if he was really hurting badly in the game.

Overall, ATL kept us out of the paint all game. Maybe they made a more concerted effort to clog the paint since Green was out? Kork is still somewhat of a threat, but you know at most hes only going to have a hot 2-3 minutes in any given game. Danny Green can hurt you all game long. They seemed to defend us the way most teams did in previous years and just not respect the perimeter guys.

Embiid couldnt get the ball in the low post. Harris couldnt seem to score in the post as he usually can. Ben missed a bunch of layups and stopped even trying. We turned in to a mid range jump shooting team for the entire game. The only guys who can do that are Harris, and Curry. And thats not enough to beat Atlanta. Especially when those guys dont even attempt a shot in what felt like the entire 2nd half.

call it whatever you want...he had no energy & looked winded the entire game. when he plays like that in a playoff game, it's a loss.

He looked disinterested and like someone pee'd in his cheerios.  Maybe he had PMS?

Rivers can't make the shots for them. The "stars" of the team had wide open shots that they blew.

Understood but, rivers is also the head coach with the most series losses when up 3-1.... I don't think that is just coincidence

His shot selection was poor all game too.  He was taking Kobe and Dirk fadeaways when he wasn't even able to make layups.  If he was low on energy, he should have realize he did not have the legs for those shots.

that's boo boo face embiid.  you can tell by the look on his face & his body language when he's gonna have one of his low energy, crap games. this was one of them.

That’s the face I make reading bobeph’s posts

Am I the only one that's crazy enough to put B-ball Paul in?  I mean Jesus, when you see the team dragging, go with some freaking youthful energy!  Especially when getting it handed to you inside!

You must be new to watching the nba. Embiid feeds off crowd noise whether good or bad.

I haven't watched in years. Thanks

If he’s pouting like he was last night, then he’s probably not feeding off the crowd.

You will find that Ben and Joel cannot self motivate but they respond to negative press and get their drive that way.

Hawks have gone to a big lineup.  Because when we are crushing teams, Harris is dominating guard types in the post. So ATL put some extra Fs in, took away Tobis easiest way to score.

The response which we haven't tried is more quickness, featuring Maxey. Or stretching those bigs and actually seeing if Mike Scott can hit a few shots.

With doc rivers no opponent is out of a series

Doc didn't turn the ball over 12 times.

they'll probably still win this series but their season is pretty much done, imo. embiid isn't healthy & they need him at close to 100% to beat the bucks/nets & whoever comes out of the west. he had no lift, energy, or stamina last night. those games will be automatic losses against the remaining playoff teams. sure, they have better pieces around him...but they still don't have enough firepower to pick up the slack when jojo is out or playing a well less than 100%...and it's not like his knee is going to suddenly heal.

Agreed which is why I am officially done with Ben. Its bad enough that he refuses to shoot, but he just doesn't have the drive to be great. He crawls into his shell too often, and last night with Embiid struggling they really needed him. You would barely know he was even playing in the entire second half. Sure he will light it up next game after getting blasted in the media to "show everyone", but its gotten old. They needed him last night and he just didn't show up. I trade Ben and a package of picks for Damian Lillard in the off season. The rumor is it would take Ben and 3 first rounders to get it done, but I'd do it. The time is now. With Embiid's injuries, the window isn't going to be open for the next decade... more like the next 3-4 years. Time to cut bait with Ben and go after this thing.

Amazing how in one day we went from winning a championship to sucking again........

yeah...it just goes to show how their chances 100% depend on embiid's health.

Really hope embiid destroys him in game 5

Capela didn't wear anyone out.  Capela is softer than goose poop.  I hope someone prints that quote out on a big poster board and hang it in the locker room.

I'm not an expert at all on the sixers, but from the tweets I've seen in here it doesn't sound like he has.

Yeah - I think with Embiid they're kinda connected

Ok.  Twitter isn't the end all and be all.  The guy defends Simmons every chance he gets and called him a "treasure" after embarrassing himself at the FT line again.   Which was a few weeks ago.  He has been preaching to us for a few months now about what we have in Simmons and how we should appreciate it.  I wasn't talking about today or last night.  I am talking about since he's been the HC.

If Simmons was a competent PG and the "star" Doc and others in the media portray him to be, they would have won that game.  If he could hit a few FT, they would have won that game.  It can't always be on Embiid.  He obviously wasn't right from the first tip.  But he fought.  Simmons get's pulled out in crunch time because he's a f-cking joke.
