No chance they’ll extend him.  Would be a major/costly mistake.  
 

Funny how I was criticized for saying we shouldn’t trade for him as a rental.  Then people said, it’s all under the belief that he’ll get another contract.  And here we are.  Amazing how silent the fools are now.

We are re-signing him. If you can’t tell he is injured, you don’t want enough basketball. We won’t find out if he is "washed” until after he is under contract. That’s the gamble they will have to take. 

I need to want more basketball.  

Got to be worried about Harden? That's looking like a bad trade right now.

I was in on getting Harden if it was the only way Morey was getting Benjamina out of town this year. Said back then and still believe they’d have been better off both now and in the future if they’d done the Kings trade instead. 
 

I think in the offseason they’d be best to let Harden walk, see if they can land Beal. Plenty of money left then to add a wing or PF if they unload Harris.

All these senior citizens probably forgot what Harden looked like in his first 5 games after he had 2-3 weeks off. He isn’t Houston Harden but he is 100% playing injured and was over used this year. Again, the same guys who don’t follow basketball wouldn’t recognize this.

Even if that’s the case, why should it make us feel any better that a 32 year old with a ton of tread on the tires has now dealt with hamstring injuries two years in a row? Whether he’s lost a step or it’s due to injury, either way it’s a sign that his body isn’t holding up at his age anymore.

The majority of NBA players start to decline at 33 so this is typical. Especially when said player goes out partying after every game. The chances of him getting back to what he was is about zero. Especially when he is historically  the only player to shoot 200 plus 3's a  year to never shoot at least one year at 40%. He never was efficient and that is only going to get worse. 

 

Simmons is gone. Mitchell may be an option.

Beal or Mitchell over Harden.
