Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I'm doing both dude. Not sure what you are smoking out in SF today.

So you speak for the majority?

Im not in SF. Im in the middle of white evangelical wichita  kansas where the local authorities have just asked us to stay in our homes because there is a credible threat of violence in my neighborhood tonight.

Having said that despite your delusions of grandeur you dont speak for the masses😒

LOL you think it went away because the masses aren't against it? You think Kap and the other few who started it got blacklisted for no reason when there are liberal owners? It is not popular and people don't want to see it. The fact Brees who I can't stand on the field, but is one of the best guys in the league off the field, is getting hammered like this is crazy.

I think you underestimate corporate commercial America. Do you think if the majority didnt agree with kap thousands of people all over the world would be protesting?

The current climate is a big I told you so for Kap, Brees digging in his heels is a bad look, he and others had their chance to speak their piece and it literally blew up in their faces and its not surprising at all that brees current hollow remarks are blowing up in his face today.

Even if the way the majority thinks is the way you think they are it doesnt make it right or moral. The Majority of Germany thought the NSDAP party were right, doesnt make it so or moral.

So far, just wind and rain... no twisters.    Lots of trees are going to be down though.

That makes sense😒

I hope for the Saints’ sake Davenport carries a lot of sway in the locker room, because I think there will be quite a few players who won’t be as open minded.

The second time listening to his comments, I think it would be more than reasonable to say they come off as tone-deaf

Had my first tornado warning ever last year was a fun night hunkering down in the basement while all my neighbors were out and about just carrying on like nothing, i guess people get accustomed to certain situations. Im sure there is some psychological term for it.

Be safe.

I've never felt better about a decision I made in my life... that decision was to take down the two trees in front of my house back in January.  I used to worry every time a little storm would pop up that one or both would crash into my house.  In January, a large branch broke off and landed on the roof.  The noise was the scariest experience of my life.  30-45 seconds of sheer terror until I knew what had happened and that everyone was safe.  No significant damage though.  It just bent up the gutter, and we had to have them replaced.  That same week, the trees came down.  Ever since then, the storms have been far less scary.  One day I'll likely plant some new trees, further from the house, to replace them.  But for now, I'm just enjoying the peace of mind.

We have a huge tree that looms over our garage and my sons room and a huge willow in the back yard that i worry about falling on the house, theyre such beautiful trees but i get it i worry as well, especially since where i live we get multiple tornado warnings a year.

Speak for yourself bro😒

@Utebird Agree, thanks for speaking up.

@Diehardfan I really don't like to get political on this forum and I don't have anything against you personally, but please just think twice before posting stuff like that. I also implore you to do a bit more learning -- this video would be a good start https://www.instagram.com/tv/CA-S25nCFn2/?igshid=cha8v1pkpv96 and better explains the life experience of many African Americans, and especially many black players in the NFL. I'm really sorry if you don't have an Instagram (I couldn't manage to find this video elsewhere), but I'm hopeful this could give you a different perspective on that "white privilege" that other minorities like myself frequently experience and why I think it would be helpful to condemn the kind of rhetoric that Drew Brees is putting out there. He's supposed to be a role model after all.

Hope this doesn't offend any of ya'll -- we're all one family in Eagle nation (and this country) and I truly believe that.

at some point hopefully Jenkins will come to grips with it that most people dont care how he feels...he'll have the few passionate followers, but at a societal level, humans really dont care (and arent obligated to) about how others feel.

I find LeBron's stupidity to be a fine example. he can tell others how they should feel about Kaep, but no one can tell him how to feel....its the mentality of a child.

In the same vain, this applies to Brees as well?  And if so, why not include him in this statement?

yes... FAR too many people do not allow for a reasonable middle ground. They see you as either 100% with them, or call you a racist. There is no room for any other opinion but the one they protest, and riot for. No matter how closely your views align with theirs, if youre just 99% with them, youre an enemy under attack. And that is completely unreasonable.

The Saints all need to watch Dr Z talk about the moral foundation theory. And then the rest of the country should too.

When you cant say that you 100% support their message but disagree with the riots,  you will be attacked. That cant be. The world cant change when people are like that. When you say you agree with Kaep that we need work on equality but feel that his method of prostesting was disrespectful, you will be attacked and called racist. That cant be.  Change cant happen that way.

Drove through the tail end of a tornado once, by accident. Was not fun.

I agree its not a black and white issue, pun intended there is a lot of grey area and right now i think is not a time to point to the grey areas i think its time to listen and those who feel misunderstood marginalized victimized or violated need to be heard.

Drew brees isnt hearing, he isnt listening, hes talking.

No way? People don't like when you take the middle ground on the question: Are you racist?

he's getting hammered because he is saying kneeling is disrespecting the flag, country, heritage, freedom.  Two points: the kneeling isn't intended to disrespect any of the above but is intended to symbolize acknowledging inequality, racism, and the brutal outcomes of them.  Secondly, just like Brees's grandfather's served, so too did most of his teammates grandfather's, uncles, etc.  It's not unique.  But his tone is one of -I sing the athem and place my hand over my heart to honor my families sacrifices and if you kneel you dishonor the sacrifices of your family, the flag, the countey, heritage and freedom.   Its so pathetically arrogant and disingenuous.
