No need to keep harping on the same price issues. That is always a given. If we think he's worth it he stays ,if not he's gone. That is above my pay grade. My point was he was barely used by us,so if he wants the "going rate" than we have a back who knows the team with only a little wear on the tires and we'd be dumb to let that go. Like I said we aren't pounding him like Derrick Henry or anything

But my point is he's only worth keeping for the right price. I'm not keeping him for top RB dollar is my point.

Welp,I got bashed(as usual) for mentioning we could possibly take a round 1 QB next year. NO, NO, HURTS IS OUR GUY!!!! Well, personally I don't know that yet,so for me that remains on the table. Other things are holding up me making that call, the one that bothers me most is once again our lack of a running game. The O line seems to be ok at pass pro,but I see noone opening gaping holes anywhere you could drive a truck through. So without that running game it sure makes Hurts job more difficult

Hurts has had a good game against a bad team and a bad game against a good team

We said after last year if he can't get his completion percentage well above 50% he isn't gonna be the answer

I'll wait until mid season but it isn't looking good is it?

I know, we all know it has to be at the right price, but WE don't decide what that price is. How much is "overpaid" in your opinion if we re-signed him? It's so bad,we don't even know what we have in him because he has never been pushed,so how do you get his value if you don't know his capabilities?

Hard to know, this is a tough stretch of good teams we have. I just thought it was sad Smith got ONE catch. He's the guy that's supposed to be an offensive mainstay. We're not going anywhere if we can't get the ball to these guys

I’m looking at these first two games more judging the coaching. Think Siri did a good job having the team ready to play week one. Some bad coaching this second game though. Tough to just look at stats to judge a player. Him under throwing a pass is on him. Reagor stepping out of bounds when he delivers a great pass is on Reagor…not Hurts. Both just go down as an incompletion stats wise for the QB though.

I don’t think the judgement should come mid season or any of that. I think how this team finishes the season is key to judging players…and coaches.

These next few weeks are going to be a telling stretch of games for us division game Monday, KC, Carolina(who is playing well), TB then Vegas(another team playing well).

Nah we should know what we have by game 7 or 8. Not much is going to change after that

Honestly my only concern with Hurts is he passed at about 50% last year and after one good game he seems to have reverted to old form.

Lets see how he does against a below average Cowpies D

Iron sharpens iron. We may lose but in a way that's good because we now know where we are weak. It's better than a walk over game where you really learn little

For instance, week 2 we found out Mailiata is the real deal and while he has work to do can you imagine this guy by the end of the season? Beast! He held his own against one of the best in the league. Even if we lose this I would LOVE to see Mailata pancake Parsons or toss him 5 yards downfield like a rag doll

I remember people on this site complaining he was a wasted draft pick before he even took the practice field.

IDK maybe it's me but I like how the O line is holding vs the rush,my issue comes with them not opening holes much. I know the talent is there,so what is the problem?

I admit I questioned it and did after awhile also. But i'm glad they saw the potential I was not really privvy to. Anyone have word on Ertz?

There has been running lanes sometimes it just comes down to the RB they also have to be able to see and hit the hole.

Sanders avg. nearly 4.5 a carry that is good running in the nfl don’t get that without good blocking

RPO as much as it can help also think it can hurt the ground game as well. You rely on the QB but if he is late on the read or does the wrong read hurts the running game. The OL is blocking like it’s a run from the start so if they open a hole but the QB doesn’t feed the RB or holds little to long that hole closes.

https://www.nfl.com/players/jalen-hurts/stats/career  Extremely early, but to me this indicates they are trying to get him to hone his pocket passing skills. His % improved. We know he can run and I think come hell or highwater, they want him to throw the ball, make the mistakes and learn. We don't need to teach him to run,but if e gets passing down he will be a nice more complete QB

I liked the pick. Not that I thought he would do anything, but it was a good story. I actually thought they would try him a FB or TE. I never realized that he was gonna be a OT to be honest. Even if they had said it at the draft I would have ignored it....

IMO(and once again this is early) Gainwell seems quicker at hitting those holes than Sanders. So if this O line is "one of the best" that hole should stay open longer. IMO they need to work on holding it more. I believe with the offense we(usually) run that would be on the guards(and I understand it was Dickersons first game). I only want this corrected ASAP and not drag on and on because it will be an issue if it's not corrected

It was late pick,so really you can't say it was wasted. Those late guys are make or break picks anyway. I'm just thrilled he got to prove himself in a brand new sport. I hope the guy that scouted him got a big bonus lol

If I am Dullaz when those holes DO open,I am shooting a LB blitz on jalen as much as I possibly can(and this is why I want the sort passing game over top of the LB's). make them back off into coverage if we can beat them enough doing that(opens the run game)

I am kind of screwed in 1 fantasy league. I have Zeke and Sanders and we seem to always snuff Zeke somehow, so I need Sanders to overperform

LOL I was saying TE early on myself(like a Gronk)

I mean Sanders again is avg. 4.6 yards a carry on the year and Gains is like 4 ypc those are extremely good numbers in the nfl. It’s early only two games but the OL has been showing why they are one of the better groups

Defenses get paid also hell SF DL is one of the best and we still avg. over 4 yards per carry on them

Great 4.6 yards a carry with what 11 carries? lol That is  an ineffective stat.54 yards rushing is not going to cut it

I can’t help how much we run the ball that is a coaching decision can only say he is effective when given the ball lol

Disagree, because (not withstanding key injuries) I think it comes down to team chemistry/individual performances vs. how does their stamina hold out when going through the late stretch of the season + an extra game to boot.
