Lane missed several games DBs was clearly not playing at his hiders a few games there. Seumalo went down. Driscoll went down. Herbig and Opeta stepped in. Rook stepped in. Looks really big and good. Let’s not act like he started off blockbuster though. Got him run blocking and he could work it. Pass blocking was rough early on….really quite brutal.

Yea wonder if it had to do with the fact we have a QB that easily held the ball longer then anyone else…. The OL was playing well majority of the season even trying to act like they weren’t is just sad.
Hurts had strong OL play all season long

Yeah, what he said lol

A first and third this year and a third next year should do it.

That's insane, that is a QB trade. With no QB to throw to him why would we give up all that???? Totally ridiculous offer, We get FLEECED. try again

I’d have no problem giving up a first and two thirds for a football player like Deebo. No brainer. Trade….sign…be happy instead of risky picking bad draft choices.

First, second and two fourths for The Cheetah.

First and Second for Adams.

Yep it's a no brainer in the NO category

Deebo would be getting an upgrade at QB with Hurts.

Exactly the guy we need

Not as a passer he wouldn’t and running the ball doesn’t help Deebo

Deebo would be a great compliment to our WR room. That physical presence we lack.

Why is trying to find the best value for ALL that we need "pigeon holing"??? Howie will try to do this very things on draft days

SO draft the guys that would cost you the most in FA lol

Best value... everywhere.   You are focusing on just one or two positions. This team needs everything.

And it does seem the strategy over the years is to draft those positions that cost the most... to an extreme

I’m jumping at CB. Think they are low comparatively.

I don't...because they shouldn't have separated the DL positions.    Then you have QB, WR, DL, OL followed by CB. Which is right there before S,LB,TE and RB.  Perfectly in the middle.

We’ll see. If anything I’d think it more likely a vet QB. I expect Jalen Hurts to be QB1 Week one of 2023…unless he’s injured.

Page 1642... will replace 1289 now.

Separate DE and DT from just Dline is kind of like separating CB and S instead of DB. Makes total sense to me.

Ham....this is your problem.   You try to look at names on paper...  how was the play on the field.   Forget the names, how did the unit function?  The OL was pretty good..  I think any " elite" result was due to the opposing offenses in some of the game being so brutal that it gave us the opportunity to just keep running.

Freddie Mitchell would improve our WR room.   Giving up the picks and the cap space shouldn't be our goal at the moment.   Draft well.... develop the young guys... see where we can get our next QB and go from there.   Team needs to much at the moment for all this investment in one player.

Not really...CB and S play a lot further apart...  a DE and DT play right next to each other.   A CB engages with a WR, a S has multiple responsibilities.    During the run game, the DE and the DT playing together and filling the gaps, which are basically a body width of an OT apart... can really impact the result.  Same for a pass rush.    S and CB are much more different.

I mean let's not put OL together either... let's separate T, G and C ....

CB in the middle is pretty much right where it should be.

Who do you have as best defenses over the course of the league history?   85 Bears, Baltimore 2000, Eagles 1991, Steel Curtain and 2000s Steelers.  You see CB taking a back seat role.  Even with Legion of Domb and No Fly Zone... run D and pass rush was key.

No way do I see CB moving up past the ones that are ahead... if anything you could make an argument moving S or LB areas.  Especially since you need more than one lock down CB in today's game.

LOL why it's fun to mock, because you have to cover ALL the needs(or try to) it's easy to say OH I want this guy or that guy. So yeah I focused on those 2 because through the mock it gave me better value at later players also while providing 2(theoretical) studs. You need to view the draft as a whole draft, not just who you get day 1

So you are trying to draft players at positions... because you have better  value at the other positions in round 6?  That is a strategy?

No,but it's a strategy for round 2,3,maybe 4

Yep because as you stated,we need everything. I'm not taking 3 Wr's with my first 3 picks even if they are the BPA's

I think people are misremembering how the Oline started. It was rocky. We were pass pass pass as players were getting injured. Well and Lane having whatever. Johnson was clearly a second half of the season player. Dickerson I’d say the same. Mailata was pretty great. But he missed a game. Then came back and played RT injured and was abused. This new team figured out more of an identity. Mailata, Dickerson, Lane and whomever were very good at wearing out defenders by attacking them and mauling. So the more they used that the better. Them just going backwards isn’t their forte. Physical is their forte.

No trades,I got Karlaftis-edge,Davis-DT Chenal-LB Joseph-CB,pierce-RB,Flott-CB,Letavius Smith-G  Zappe-QB,Ellis-DT Araiza-P. But no WR LOL

So here’s what we know about the Eagles’ starting secondary with less than two weeks before the draft:

CB1: Darius Slay
CB2: ?
NCB: Avonte Maddox
S: Anthony Harris
S: ?

So taking half the sentence that I wrote out of context doesn't really help there... trying to insinuate I wanted to take 3 of anything in a row.   I simply said this idea of pigeonhole the picks to certain positions isn't going to help.  We need everything, don't pass up a player thinking in round 2 that position will be there, it's not guaranteed.

Example... you specifically want WR and DL... you are doing mocks and thinking we can take one of them and then take the other round 2.  No guarantee that the guy you want in round 2 will be there.  And there could be  BPA at another position anyway.
