I keep hearing about Hurt's workout regimen. He was lifting with Johnson and Kelce during the off season and also worked with the QB Guru to help improve his mechanics. Yes, I wonder if he can improve enough to keep him moving forward. But I admire his attitude. The dude is working his butt off to get better. I hope he does as it will free up allot of draft capital for next season. I give him about a 30% chance he remains here after next season. Before the draft I had him around 10% so that is something.....

I believe if he improves his footwork a bit that improves him quite a bit right there. Square up his shoulders towards the throw. Second year in the offense obviously will improve his reads and progressions. Siri broke things down on a few plays last season. So it seems like the two of them are on the same page at least.

I agree. This may be an issue. How much of an improvement will be needed to keep him? Can he improve enough that they offer him a Tag for another year? I guess we will see what happens soon enough. He has allot of players on his side. That helps, but at the end of the day, he still needs to show us something. Listen, I hope we all are amazed with his improvement.

Still got  time. Two more seasons then they can consider the tag.

Ryan Stonehouse, Colorado State

Colorado State’s Ryan Stonehouse has been the model of punting consistency. Before the 2021 season, Stonehouse became the first punter to be named first-team All-Mountain West in three consecutive seasons.

Only the man who leads our list of the top punters in the 2022 NFL Draft scuppered his chances of making it a clean sweep. Stonehouse finished second behind that same punter in yards per punt this season.

The Colorado State standout averaged 50.91 yards per punt in the 2021 season, and this performance is no fluke. The Colorado State punter has averaged 47.8 yards per game throughout his outstanding college career.

Against Vanderbilt, Stonehouse belted an astonishing 81-yard punt. Only one player on our list of the top punters in the 2022 NFL Draft has kicked one longer. Placement is as important as power, and Stonehouse has downed 48.2% of his punts inside the 20-yard line this season.

Bring him in,let him compete

Seeing he was signed by Tenn. Can't verify it

I guess they took their shot for a trade...then figured to just release him now so he can get on the open market ASAP.    I'm just thinking Seamulo is the bigger cap hit to shed..  they lose a little depth without Herbig.   But they probably figure he walks next year anyway and let's save a little cap while we can.

Still have to wonder what happens if Semaulo doesn’t win the job… He should win without a problem but if the rook shows up during camp would we opt to go his way.

Verfied,Tenn signed him

Our UDFA RB

He easily has the best pure arm talent of any QB in our camp.

And that's probably using his left arm.

Man you would be horrible running a business with your PR.   You love this guy, yet you want to leave him hung out to dry.   Most important position,  popular player and leader, and you do that to him?  Brutal.

Why would I bash you for this....this is exactly the move you make at punter.... zero investment.   I'm never against bringing guys in to see what they have....nor am I ever in a rush to cut players before its necessary.

I just don't go crazy over the little stuff or want to make a big investment like you do.

Oh man.. that narrows the field down to the next 50 guys...lol

Not 100% sure how true this is but read something that said AJ Brown is the only extended player we have signed through 2026.

It did add that Geodart and Mailata are on a deal but they can be voided by then.

As Ham says...the Eagles can just let Hurts rookie deal play out.   That would be the case if the idea is that he didn't show much ...then it's the Eagles being generous by still keeping him around.  If he plays fairly well... then they will look awful if they don't pay him.

The other factor is next year's draft class and the opportunity to get a QB.  If a legit opportunity is there, it will change things.   If not, more of a chance they let the rookie deal play out.   The Eagles won't tag Hurts though, and the reason we think this is the year for him, is that they don't want to put themselves in position to tag him, they get deals done for every player they want to keep.

That should be correct because those guys were extended last year. I believe there is a 5 year limit to a contract/ signing bonus or something.   It's why this 4 years $100 idea just isn't that simple.  You know it's much cheaper for the Eagles.

Well he was a bit above the others. ALOT of P's got drafted this time around

I seen it is a 5 year deal but of course the final year is voidable

Guy was a pro bowler. Now that we actually have LB's we may as well use them, unlike a few recent coaches.

Not sure on this I mean Mahomes is signed until 2031

4 this year instead of the average 2.

I'm thinking being in Colorado...maybe the air helped him with some distance?

Really need Sanders to have his big season this year. His 5.5 yards a carry is a big jump from the drop off of the others. Scott and Gainwell at 4.3.

I'm not exactly sure the details...there is a limit on certain aspects.   The signing bonus proration is the key. Mahomes is a dummy contract that will get redone.  Idk the exact limits or rules but makes sense Brown is the one that is showing on the books longest.

Cowboys did that to Dak….considered tagging him twice even. But sure the only way to do things is the Wentz way ….or No Mas way….both the same.

I do run a business so I’m just going to disagree respectfully.
