Well he was a bit above the others. ALOT of P's got drafted this time around

Yeah but it’s so dumb according to No Mas to get a stud starter at his position. Our guy was killing us this year. But just blame the QB on that.

Cowboys did that to Dak….considered tagging him twice even. But sure the only way to do things is the Wentz way ….or No Mas way….both the same.

I do run a business so I’m just going to disagree respectfully.

How has that worked out for Dallas?   They could have saved 50-60 mil in cap space getting it done early.   Brutal business model.

Not sure on this I mean Mahomes is signed until 2031

Yeah that’s just the limit the signing bonus can be stretched. Thankfully for us….or we’d have dead money setup for 2040 already.

It's a stud... proven stud.   Guaranteed stud... that didn't get drafted?

Agree... who needs 10 mil of dead cap in 2040 when the cap will be 1 billion per team.  That can really restrict your moves.

I'm thinking being in Colorado...maybe the air helped him with some distance?

Still second to the San Diego St P

Like us? You laughed at them for their handling of Dak and praised us for our handling of Wentz. You still haven’t had second thoughts there?

Yeah.   How many QBs get the franchise tag?    Dak, Cousins...   how has that worked out?   Dumbest thing to tag the highest paid position in the sport and then have to set the market with the following contract.   That's why teams very rarely do it that way.  The "Wentz " way ,was ultimately way cheaper...not even considering the draft capital that came back.

The issue to me is tunnel vision you have with " dead money"   2 million of dead money in your mind is worse than 5 million of overpaying.   It's math, dead or not it counts.  The tag is the worst because it counts 100% in that year and eliminates any flexibility.  And eliminates and trade value.

That's without even taking into consideration the bad PR of leaving a popular player hung out to dry. Very unsettling for the team, regardless of how well the player handles it, the uncertainty if the player will be there isn't good for business.

No... because it's still less cap space used.  Plus we got a nice draft haul out of it.  Dallas results were much worse.  Look how their free agency has been brutal.

My memory was that Dallas whooped up on us and won the division. So their way was better. Now that we are getting out from under that we have a shot to beat them. You might want to revisit very recent history.

How are you grading this? Cowboys won more games both seasons. But you won the cap wars.

The combined cap hits for both Wentz and Dak... for 2020 and 2021.  Look it up.   Dak had to get rid of Cooper...losing other FAs.  They beat us because they drafted better and have a better QB.

The " Wentz" and the rest of the league way... even with the dead cap, they got out of it with the same cap hits and some nice picks.

See my other post. Clueless. One thing has nothing to do with the other.   Your look specifically at the QB contracts and stay on the subject.   Dallas has been brutal handling their cap... they had an opportunity to correct it by getting Dak's deal done early...they took the huge cap hit with the tag and then had to pay Dak the top of the league $$.   Absolutely stupid.  If they " Wentzed " him...they would still have Cooper and have been able to sign other guys.   Now they have a $49 mil  cap hit coming up next year for him. Brutal business.  For what?  " Dak needs to prove himself "   did he prove himself that year?  He got injured and they paid him anyway?   What was the point?  Just dumb

When you change the subject... it's obvious sign of being wrong.   You didn't even look at the cap hits.  Your just stubborn in your way of thinking without looking at the facts.

"Dallas has been better than the Eagles because they had a bigger cap hit with Dak than we did with Wentz.".makes sense????    Clueless.

We paid Wentz to play for the Colts. They paid Dak to win the division. I prefer the cowboys way on this one. If they actually hired a good coach they really would have gotten somewhere.

Their FA has been more brutal than ours? We picked up S Harris and LB Wilson last season. To me….that’s just brutal. This year we got LB White and LB Reddick. Not really thinking we did better than anybody in FA the last two seasons at all.

I’m sure all those day three picks will contribute much more than any starting P.
