That's what the league does....especially the process the Eagles like to follow.  McNabb, Vick, Wentz all got their $$ early. Very rarely do they let anyone they actually want to keep...go into the final year of their deals.  Especially the positions that are paid the most.   We have seen this for decades.

And does Hurts have to blow them away?   Why wouldn't he?  What would the excuse be not to?  OL?  weapons?  No threat of a running game to hold off the rush?     No excuses...look around the NFC and tell me which QB has a better set up?  I like Tampa's WR duo better,  but what else do they have outside of QB?    Rams same situation.  Who else?   It's time now. The work was put in and more is getting put in...so let's see the results.

You mean like RB and TE….apart from much better defenses making plays and getting the ball back?

What else do the Bucs have at skill positions than Godwin and Evans? Fournette, Brate and Gronk to start with.

Metcalf and Lockett you easily could argue as a better tandem

All the cowboys O weapons.

I mean...you keep saying Sanders is elite talent..special player.    Obviously Goedert is a top NFC TE.

Yeah..what would the excuse be?  There is none.

Washington has McLauren and took a WR in the first.

Giants paid and drafted WR

Goedert is a top NFC TE. Better than Gronk who’s arguably the best TE all time? Nope….can’t say that.

Sanders needs to answer the bell. I’ve been optimistic about him. But it has t materialized yet. I’d like to see him put it all together this year.

To pay Hurts 50 mil a season after this year would astonish me. Not sure they would for anything less than MVP level performance.

I think Hurts could continue to improve. Which could lead to an extension during the 2023 season. Show growth and improvement this year. Show it again to start his last contract year. Then maybe both sides can work something out.

If we lost certain games those teams would have nine wins I will note. So we had something to do with that. But yeah….does anybody need a reminder about how terrible 2020 was before Hurts beat the Saints? I will say it felt like I was the only one complaining consistently those seasons going into that.

Yes.... if we lost to Washington with...  what's his name that they brought off the street to play QB????  Can't think of it...but yeah..they would have had 9 wins...you are right.

So how about we give Hurts credit .    Yet I still sat the TEAM ... AGAIN THE TEAM.  PHILADELPHIA EAGLES...NOT SIMPLY JALEN HURTS.

has not beaten a 9 or better win team with their starting QB since Oct 2019.   Wentz ...the worst human being in the history of the planet, maybe besides Hitler....  was also a part of that...as well as every other Eagles player, coach,  trainer, and front office person.

Do we feel better now????

Now in 2022.   No more excuses.  No dead money.  Wentz locker has been bleached... year #3.   Pro bowl WR... none of the WRs are rookies.    Coaching is NOT new....  zero excuses now...  the offense should be elite. They should be one of the top scoring teams.  Scoring...points... not 3rd down conversions ...16 yard passes... 10 yard runs...  yards per play when the temp is between 51 and 65 degrees and the grass was cut the day prior...etc.   POINTS.

And still... if the TEAM isn't good enough to beat a 9 win team with the starting QB...I will continue to point it out and put it on the entire organization.

So yes...it will be used against everyone, not just Hurts.

Yes...you can say in 2022 that Goedert is better.

Ok.... this is where you don't seem to grasp the concept.   In order to avoid paying $50 mil.... the Eagles would look to sign him after this year with the discount they use all the time for guys who sign the 2nd contract prior to the final year of the cheap rookie deal.

Waiting til 2023.. will have the results that Dallas has had...taking on the larger cap hits for Dak and losing FAs without signing anyone of significance.

And also.... why shouldn't Hurts have MVP type performance?  The teammates are there for it.

Dude... if Hurts doesn't improve with this offensive roster he has now... that's brutal.   Significant improvement at minimum or you can bet they will make a move.

We scored points right behind ARod the MVP last year. Right behind Burrow that went to the SB. Twelfth. I’d like to be tops in all the league but twelve isn’t really bad. I just like that when we got in the Redzone we had a QB that converted pretty solid down there which was a welcome change.

He wasn’t better last year….don’t think I can say he’s better this next year. Gronk just all time TE. High bar. Goedert right about fifth.

He’s improving regardless because he’s a dedicated hard worker. The roster should be expected. You’ve been blaming him while dealing with a roster he was carrying. You must think Hurts has been pretty darn good if you think him improving puts him in the MVP conversation.

They added his best friend. Practically all that happened all offseason. Any big FA additions anywhere? Nope, just Hurts convincing AJ to join the Eagles. Of which having you obviously love….yet want to threaten jettisoning his reason to be here.

So you think we have better WR than the Vikes? Thielen and Jefferson are pretty dynamic. You could add that Cook could be considered the top RB in the game.

Hurts is at +4000 to win the MVP so put your money in

Much better odds than a guy about to be replaced deserves.

SO how will his "friend" feel when he has 3 more years on his contract and we let Hurts walk?

Doesn’t sound like a good plan at all, does  it?

I have my doubts about Jergens. His foot issues are concerning. His snap problems give me pause to his readiness at C. Not sure he has good enough strength to play G at a high level.

Trading up in the first for a run stopper is very foreign to me as well.
