Sad we never ever provided Schwartz what we have given Gannon

No Mas thinks Schwartz had the most talented D in the league.

If Gannon ever gets a HC gig I really want to know what that GM was thinking...... or what meds he was on at the time

It was said the Texans wanted him but were forced to hire a minority.

He also does good pressers!

That he does. He talks a good game. Which is actually fairly rare from the defensive side.

The offense will have to counter press coverage and a run blitz.  It's why it seems the QB has less time than he has.  BP1 must be able to burn the blitz with passes.

BP1 being AJ….he excels at beating press coverage. Why he was such a great fit. Paired with QB1 they carried us past Detroit.

Don't forget that I think Chip is somewhere between Lombardi and Belichek.

I have a simple philosophy.

You won 1 Superbowl / championship since 1960.    It's obvious the coaching was good enough.  During that season the QB played at MVP level.     So my philosophy is to surround those guys with competent players.

Probably a little better than Greg Ward and Travis Fulgham.  I probably would be ok running the football and having said QB throw for 120 yards but with 4 TDs.    I probably would let head coach pick his own staff.

And yeah... I probably wouldn't go since 1979 without drafting a LB in round 1 if he was the BPA.   I probably would fill out my starting 22 before focusing on 3rd strings at my favorite positions.

But hey... 1 championship in 62 years.  Let's all say it was due to intangibles and luck..  Just so happens that New England, San Francisco, Pittsburgh,  Dallas, Giants, Washington, Green Bay....etc.   they just know how to get lucky better than us 😆

Howie's shaky drafts have not helped us for many moons. I have a hard time judging Schwartz due to the lack of players we provided him. Actually I think he did a super job with mostly 2nd rate players/journeymen and other teams rejects. I wonder with the D we finally have in place what his defense would look like now that actual talent has arrived Bradberry should get better as he gets more reps in with the surrounding guys. I know the all22 picked on him some and he probably made those errors, but lot of that if you read it was based in bad coach calls that took away from his strong points and forced him to do things he wasn't as good at. I would like to see David used more and in the way he is best suited. I think Gannon is struggling a bit with these versatile players and while I love those types, they need "set" jobs that can improve on before adding additional duties. We finally have some decent LB's in,not the leagues best, but better than what we are used to and Gannon needs to put this player puzzle together. This vikes game (which I get to see for a change YAY) will tell me alot on both sides of the ball. Not that I can change anything, but it will open up discussion on here as to what schemes or player type changes we need to get.Gannon has to have a near perfect game plan and the players need to perfectly execute it. Game 1 missed tackles are understandable, but those need to be resolved NOW. Vikes are tremendous at YAC and we need to nail them right at the attack point.I'm hoping to see more blitz packages, even fake ones to throw them off balance. Keeping Cook under 150 would be a goal for me and making Sure Davis is in on the GL plays. Offense concerns me less in that they have all had time together and should get better every game and as I said more bodies involved. Besides "Prove it" for Hurts,Sanders needs to do it too. Not alot of wear on that tread,sp his age doesn't bother me yet. The WR's are young and hungry just the way I like them. The new kid on the block has played NFL snaps, but on many teams and sporadically,so I feel if you can him some consistent time he can show us some solid play. He has untapped potential yet. He will never be a stud/star but from what I have read he can certainly be usable. He had many accolades at FL St.and has been bounced around alot. I'm wondering how he could play if he found a real home. Hopefully that will be here. So I am really looking forward to the Vikes game.It should provide us all with alot to talk about good and bad,but the bad should be exposed for all to see. And in week 2 thats a GOOD thing, that when you want to be exposed because from there you can tweak it up game after game and hopefully hit your peak in post season. Sorry for the rant,I was just in the mood for one HAHAHA(UGH). So basically Howie has provided the talent on both sides of the ball and we need to see what Siri and Gannon do with it. I think we will see how that is going on monday night and if the screw ups from the Lions game have been addressed

OK, so we all saw the Eagles game last weekend. Who on here thought the O-Line did a good job? I certainly thought they played poorly. So I hear that PFF has them ranked as a top 3 unit last weekend! That is so far off base it is not funny. Another reason I think that PFF has no clue. What do they base this on? It was obvious that the Defense was getting penetration all night.

Anyway, I still feel that the O-Line will do much better this week, thus I feel the Eagles will put up a good amount of points. Question is if Gannon can keep Minnesota from scoring more......

Liberty line has us ranked first

  • The Broncos also signed former Vikings and Eagles safety Anthony Harris to their practice squad on Wednesday as potential insurance.

Eagles are back at practice today. With a primetime game this week, Eagles are practicing one hour later than a typical start-of-week practice.

The OL was ranked 1 by multiple sources.   They send 6 guys it takes more than the OL.  The QB has a tendency to leave the pocket early, not the OL's fault.

In all honesty it's part of having the running QB dominate your offensive style.  You don't necessarily want him staying in the pocket and waiting for patterns to develop when he could get out and run for some yards.   Watch Hurts run... he's excellent. It's why he is in the league.

This is our style now... get used to it.   We aren't going to see elaborate play calling with complicated route trees and patterns.    Everything will be RPO based with the threat of Hurts running himself as the foundation.

Wondering how many hits Hurts can survive before we have to re tool the play book for Shew. RG3 was a star for what 2 seasons? lol. And while I love a good QB scamper(and the fact we can call some designed run plays) I believe it would help Hurts longevity if he stayed pocket bound more

Lions O line ranked 3rd from what I can see,but now on to the Vikes

I'm not worried about the longevity yet.  That comes after it's locked in he is the long term high paid franchise QB.  Right now the focus is on his improvement.

The Line played poorly. Detroit did not blitz every play!  in any event, you think they should be ranked #1 after their performance, so be it. I am not even close to thinking they should be a top 10!

Didn't say I was worried, but if he gets hurts bad enough there is no need to resign him right? Isn't that the point of this years "try out"? So,if we can't keep him upright we will be automatically looking at a QB next draft(or sign Shew to a long term which I can't fathom or looking for another high dollar FA target) so I will stick with my opinion that it matters

The line was ranked 1st by multiple sources ....the ones who do that stuff for a living.   I know what I saw as well.  I'm ok if you disagree

You think the coach designed it for him to run 17 times?   As we thought with the previous guy.... there is responsibility that falls on the QB himself in this regard.

Siri said in a presser that he plans on running Hurts as much as needed. He joked about running him 50 times! This is the mindset he has given Hurts. So yes 17 times may happen more often than not. I can easily see 10 runs per game as the norm.

Well someone needs to inform him that if he misses 1/2 a season he wont be signed by anyone anywhere. I believe this would be his agent(Ham???) LOL At least on designed runs you have a bit of "cover the QB" as opposed to just taking off on your own. IDK what happens was merely pointing it out

I see another RGIII on the horizon.

I hope the stache is as good as the hype
