Wait until a team notices Hurts is running once the playoffs start.

Playoff film study exposes that our QB runs.

Interesting. I guess why not? Im

against suiting him up this week.

If he's really ready suit him up

If there's a question, Don't

At the time it was a possibility yes? Everyone(except ham) was waiting to see if Hurts could perform. You can't tell me last year we could have known playing vs trash teams and 3rd string QB's and if you DO need a QB having 2 firsts sure makes that a possible scenario. What if Hurts won't agree to a new contract and he thinks he is worth 70 million a year? You think Howie would pay that?

To me it's two separate issues.   You make the trade regardless of the QB situation.

Has to be top ten pick.

Right because you can't find a stud player in 2023 at 11..   but " studs" all down in round 2 of 2022??

I absolutely Did that for you. But you never could understand im Making three first round picks. It becomes this endless so I’m not taking Davis or AJ thing.

You never put a specific rookie that you would choose to have right now over the assets acquired via Saints trade.

Seems kinda simple doesn't it?  We all knew for weeks this was the window.  Nobody should be surprised.

Seems simple enough to me

What does this have to do with the guys we drafted that aren't playing yet?

Every team knows that by now??? You think TB didn't know that last year?

Never said that, you said I thought there was a possibility the 2 firsts were for a QB and yes that WAS a possibility and if Hurts had failed miserably this year it would be a possibility for the next draft also. Doesn't mean I was taking one,,it means it was POSSIBLE to

Dillard was a top 10 pick? Reagor? The vanishing MS2?

The change of subject that occurs to avoid using specific examples... he does this constantly.

The answer is there is no rookie he is going to put out there on record that he would prefer over the Saints assets.  We all know it.  It's the similar method used to avoid naming a team with a better OL.

Nah.. just said you jumped on the media bandwagon about the draft picks simply used as backup plan to Hurts.

Welp I wasn't alone here. When you have 2 first round picks and you aren't sure about the QB you have, the a top draftee QB would be in play.

Because you can't possibly get a stud in the later rounds

That was the main issue you were discussing at time of trade as to why you liked it.    The media was all praising Howie about his ability to keep reshuffling QBs...and how this trade was genius because of that.... and how " you can't have 3 first round picks in same contract year ( another media type of looking for something soap opera or complicated)

Very simple....the trading of those assets on paper was very heavily in the Eagles favor. Simple math showed it.

They moved up from 19 to 18 by swapping a 6th for a 7th.

They received a 2022 3rd, 2023 1st and 2024 2nd... for pick 16 ( pick right in the middle of the round)

On paper = no brainer... weeks before the draft, you can only win on paper.

Again... I'm not saying it wasn't a possibility... just that you were focused on this particular thing too much.   It's not the top reason that makes it a great trade.

I know. See sometimes round 2 guys are actually round 1 talents that maybe didn't become "NFL ready" by draft day. SO as Ham pointed out you can find studs in round 2. But it's always hindsight with him. I can point to many more round 2 fails as he can round 2 successes.Dean was actually a round 1 talent,he fell to us because of health issues. Most teams want their 1,2 guys to play immediately. it's kind of nice we can pick those guys off and let them learn without expecting immediate results. This is like being ahead of the curve

I never I liked or disliked that option(taking a QB). I merely stated it was an option. 93 was also looking at a QB that year. But pick me out of the crowd if you want. It was fairly obvious by the trade deal that Hurts wasn't going anywhere and BTW I never had a QB in any mocks I did. If Hurts had failed this year then that could be a possibility. I even stated last year that this coming draft would be a better one if you WANTED a QB(and it IS a better draft for those)

I'm more curious what we do about QB#2. I doubt Book is the answer there. IDK if we offered Shew enough if he would be happy not playing,or if we just signed another teams cut and let him walk

Oh it was a great trade for sure. I was vascillating between Davis and Olave as our top pick.Of course when the trade went down I knew it was Davis, because that deal literally took Olave off the table

And BTW Olave is a fine WR, he just has trash at QB in NO
