We don't need that if we have Jurgens

Jurgens, Dickerson and Seumalo all drafted as potential C.

However S is very weak this draft year, and while this may not bear on salaries, any teams looking for a fill/fix will need due diligence because you aren't getting one in the draft. Could cause an overpay which I suspect he is waiting for

Seems like it played out the opposite with a good quantity of DBs available in FA.

Well... he just signed a 3 year deal with the Steelers... hope they paid him enough to get a 5th round comp pick....lol.

Have you seen the pay?

3 year at 24 mil.

Yeah... seems like a 6th round comp pick.

Yet CJG waits eh???? He is overpricing himself?

I think he is yeah. I think he feels his value is a lot higher than the market says it is. He isn’t an elite safety but he thinks he is and wants Bates type money.

That Steelers deal is tough with Seumalo. 8 mil was enough to pry him away. 10 mil….no doubt he was leaving. 6 mil we value him enough to pay that.

Cowboys added Brandon Cooks I see. It’s not Cooks, Gallup or Hilton that would worry me from them.

They’re saying that move likely takes the Cowboys out of ODB pursuit.

Ham said all season the price tag climbed up to 18-20 mil... we should have signed him for 13 mil week 3.

I'm not sure CGJ wasn't listening to him?

For real though,  the safety market didn't get as high as a lot of people thought.   The QB market going up kinda takes sizzle away from that spot.   I'm sure Bates signing was low compared to what some people thought it was going to be.

You have to start from the Saints trying to pay CGJ slot corner money. We pay that to Maddox. About 8 mil you’d think. So he made a good amount of money with betting on himself as a S. While showing the versatility of still being capable of manning the slot this year.

Marcus Williams was the FA S we negotiated with last offseason. He’s at 14 mil a year. That out priced us last offseason and we bowed out at less than that offer.

So this idea CGJ was going to cost 18 mil...and rushing to sign him at 13 mil was a little premature then?

Or... a lot of people thought the market was going to be higher.    Maybe our front office had a better idea from the start?   Idk.

To me..   Dillard getting almost 2 mil more per year than Seamulo seems off.   So I can't claim to be an expert on the market.

I also think Hargrave is a little overrated... no way would I have paid him that elite level $$.

But shows the value of the positions... Hargrave basically costs the combo of Slay and Bradberry.

Siri admitted there was a Cox push on the QB sneak play.

Free agency is a little multidimensional....   you can look at it from one particular teams viewpoint... or the entire league.

For me right now, I'm just baffled a little by some of these league wide contracts.  Edwards I thought would get a little more, same with Seamulo.   Probably Bradberry too.   Hargrave I guess due to position but idk, just think it's too high for him...going forward.

Sanders right as expected..  but too high for me compared to some of these other RBs.   I'm not in love with Paying Mariota the 5 to 8 mil.

It is what it is I guess.

Derwin James is 19 mil. Fitzpatrick 18. Jamal Adams 17.5. Harrison Smith and Jessie abated just got 16. Simmons at 15.25.

Right... so that's why I can see where one would assume CGJ could get that.   Idk what's up...is the league correcting itself on some overpays??   It happens.  I think Lamar is going to find that Watson deal isn't going to keep happening.

Idk...it's why every offseason is interesting.

Heard Joe Banner say in a 3 or 4 year period we could see QB salaries in the 70 mil range.    Probably why we may see some lower numbers elsewhere.

Like LB, S and RB.  Maybe CB too.

Until Dallas comes in and raises the bar again...lol.

So where does CGJ fit when looking at that list and seeing all this info? To me it’s 13 mil.

Who knows?  Im not even going to try to guess now. Seamulo only making 8 is throwing it off for me.    Maybe CGJ gets 8 or 9 mil?  Who knows.

I'm thinking the hold up right now is he wants a one year but teams are looking to sign him for 3.   Who knows?  At this point not even worth guessing.

He is signing one year 8 mil with Detroit

Wow....comp picks totally blow except for Hargrave!
