Goes back to even my thoughts with Fields in Chicago. Is being exciting and making the most out of a broken play and bad team what’s really to look at judging a player on? Or is it really just all about how a player can contribute in the big game(s)?

Basically the idea of a field goal K that is perfect all season….but chokes on the game winner in the SB. What’s important?

Gannon had a very talented D. But that SB performance wasn’t nearly good enough. Am I the only the fan here that sees things and understands it this way? Having a statistical top D during the regular season is all fine and dandy. But what truely matters is how they perform in the clutch big moments.

Or vs good opponents.

There was no committee. Unless you are using any backup getting reps in the loosest possible terms to try and combine that for committee. Clyde Edwards-Helaire was the starter to begin the season. Went for 300 yards and 3 TDs last season. Pacheco took over half way through the season. Went for 850 and 5 TDs. That’s not a committee. That’s a young guy taking over the job from the established vet.

11 starts in the regular season...played 17 games... 170 carries.

Playoffs...3 games.... 37 carries 197 yards and 1 TD.

The Superbowl was 15 carries 75 and the TD....so his 2 playoff games leading up to the Superbowl..

22 carries for 122 yards... no TDs.

11 carries for 61 yards .... that's a bell cow to you?   His average per carry was worse vs the Eagles.

I think you need to relax on this... however you want to spin it... it's still the RB position as  a bus rider.

That's been about 20 years now.

Sooooo if Jurgens wins the RG spot and then plays well over the next 1-3 years however long Kelce keeps playing do we look to move him to C then or just look for another new C replacement? Leave Jurgens at RG?

I don’t think Jurgens wins the RG spot. But part of a reason to wish to leave him at RG would be for continuity. But Kelce and Lane will be finishing up their careers. So that reasoning doesn’t exist. You do what’s best for the team. Create the best five man line you can create. Need the whole Oline optimized the best you can.

So who beats Jurgen for the RG spot Kelce himself seems extremely high on Jurgens that impressive praise for a guy… only real competition it seems is Steen the rookie we drafted.

Definitely the case that Steen makes sense to start day 1 but no real guarantee Lane or Kelce call it quits anytime soon both could easily play 3+ seasons… Do we just sit Jurgens 2-3 more seasons to wait for Kelce to hang them up?

Soooo wouldn’t that mean starting the best player for RG over the next year, 2,3 however long Kelce keeps going?

For a guy that values players getting actual playing time you wanting to sit Jurgens for 2,3 possibly 4 years(his entire rookie deal) seems odd

Don't know the answer about the best way to train a C. Playing next to Kelce for a yr or from the bench and filling in when possible?

Yes absolutely no problem leaving Jurgens on the bench if Kelce keeps playing for us at a high level.

You’d have to think actually being out there is preferred to watching from the sideline

Would you hire Gannon back as DC after he completely bombs epically as HC this year in Zona?

Next to Kelce for at least a season. Nothing like on the job training/copy catting Kelce's play. Next best thing to cloning.

That's a tuffy, but I'm on the low side of the see-saw for sure. His Zona interest F'd his SB prep.

So again if he is the best option at RG you would rather him sit for 2-3 more years rather then put the best 5 man OL on the field during a SB window?

Honestly really don’t see a down side to playing Jurgens at RG if he is the best man for the job.

Steen isn’t going to get the chemistry bonus if in 2-3 years Kielce and Lane both hang them up he will be playing next to two new guys regardless.

Same goes for Jurgens and it isn’t like we can’t still give reps to Jurgens at C during the time Kelce is still playing…. Extra reps with the 2nd team isn’t going to hurt Jurgens any

Why?

If you are a Jalen Hurts fan... you want the best 5 man unit blocking for him.  It's really not complicated.
