Ok... back to serious talk.  The rest of the world knows Gainwell is here 2 more years.

Maybe read the article from Grotz.

But anyway...can't wait for this season.   Love the schedule... love the competition.   Love the vets going for it one more time.

So your thoughts on depth chart at RB would be?

Despite our top Oline not carrying Gainwell to any success. Didn’t need more points really. Needed to control more clock and keep Mahomes on the sideline.

Really needed to stop the other team.  It wasn't like there were 15 drives per team.   KC had ball first and only had it 4 times in the 2nd half.

Had it only 4 times in the first half... TD, missed FG and 2 punts.   Hurts free 7 points surely was a factor there matching their scoring on 4 drives.

I don’t get such bold confidence over what everybody I’ve talked to lists Gainwell as third string RB. Two seasons he hasn’t done anything other than rumble over the broken beaten Giants in the fourth quarter. Don’t get me wrong…loved every minute of that. Humiliated them so thoroughly. Third string, third year RB that hasn’t produced squat in his career…that’s your guaranteed roster lock for two more years. Wow!

Ironically our offense put up 35 points?

Plus the other 2 playoff games were 31 and 38.

35 points due to our RBs? How are you praising and reasoning the RBs were the reason for our points in the SB?

Don't care.  I like the unit.   My concern is the 4th receiving option and RG.   Those are what I think could be reasons our offense could fall short.

After the season is when I'll look at how we fill out the position in 2024.

I'm expecting Howie to sign those first 3 picks of 2021 early... and we go from there.

Hurts to Gainwell connection and chemistry.   If we get Gainwell cheap, that could be a nice connection for a few years.

Chemistry and connection for what? Think the Hurts to Stoll connection bears more fruit

Yeah... the most recent games he stepped up.  That and he us under contract .....that tells me he will be in the roster the next 2 years.  I think it's obvious.

You add that the coach and the team seem to like him....that doesn't convince me otherwise you follow.

You seem to be looking at a different conversation of exactly how good he is.    That's different than if he will be on the roster.

I'm just saying he will be here getting touches for the next 2 seasons.  That's obvious to the rest of the world.

Players get better...not just the ones " I called it"   you follow.

2023...going to be a fun season.  The kind that makes you want to stop talking about 2022.   Really looking forward to it.

You know we so often see things so different. I think I’ll be talking about last season for rest of my years. So much fantastic. But also came up short. So many great things to get us to that position. But just so many tiny things that could have got us over the hump. Such a beautifully perfect opportunity that just so rarely comes around. Don’t think we’ve ever had such fortune on the injury front.

How are the Eagles blowing off the position?

I don’t think they did like you were suggesting they do. But really just pointing out not everything is on the extremes. Don’t have to do what Dallas did. Don’t have to have a committee of third stringers. Plenty of middle ground area to consider. My thinking lies there. I wish to be on the stronger side of RB personnel. Adding Cook would be a huge get and difference for our O. I’m not sure where my cap lies on limit I’d pay to get him though.  But I think I lean towards get the job done and win it all. I’m not overly concerned about winning the on paper numbers wars.

Nah... other than the Superbowl...you won't find yourself talking too much about 2022... just very uneventful.

This year looks like we will have many more memorable games.

Yes...with the elite passing offense... stacked at WR and TE.

Don’t forget their RB. Didn’t he become a lawyer or something. I don’t know. Unbelievable offense they had. Unstoppable

Right...we have a nice solid committee.  I don't see where I or anyone else has said otherwise?

I really think you just look for stuff to argue about?

Excellent receiving RB Smith.

Fumble in the Superbowl....really could have been 2.   Just nothing special.  They really forced him the ball to get the stats last year... where you can easily see the year before where he didn't get the ball as much but team overall ran better.

Adding 2 guys in Penny ( who I see as the Jordan Howard replacement) ...Swift who adds to the passing game.

Obviously they like the 2023 room much better. Especially with Gainwell stepping up come at the end.

I don’t think it’s obvious at all. Downgraded in my eyes. But if the two injury prone players…finally can play…could work out well.

Yeah... I agree...I think that's why they got rid of Sanders.  More so a win the numbers on paper guy ..than getting a job done.   I agree 100%.

Agree...could work out really well.   I think obvious if players get hurt it won't.

Not exactly rocket science....but yes i agree.

How especially with Gainwell only stepping up at the end of the giants blowout is that even noteworthy. Gotta be the end you are referring to is that fourth quarter. Because the end…SB…pathetic. You seemingly preach rushing is all Oline. Preach we have the best Oline. Didn’t do squat. Doesn’t add up with any logic I comprehend

Point towards plenty directions. Been a very well known strategy my whole life to hold on the ball to keep top QBs off the field and not hot handed. RBs didn’t do their job there. But I didn’t just make this philosophy up from thin air.
Not saying you don’t make valid points either.

Sanders  ... or Swift and Penny.

Only way anyone would consider having the 2 guys as a downgrade is if there were injuries.

As of now...nobody is injured.   So it's an upgrade.

Exactly, Gainwell third string at best currently

Yet SF and the Superbowl .. Gainwell was the best RB. Obviously better than Sanders.

Exactly.....is I said I don't care.

Grotz seems to have him as the lead RB.

You really forcing me to go back over all your posts before we acquired Penny and then traded for Swift. Over and over…you said Oline makes the rushing game. Gainwell and whoever committee would be good. So on and so on. Thank goodness they upgraded and pushed him back to third string. I still would like more. As soon as Swift or Penny go down things won’t be looking very pretty.

I personally prefer Scott over Gainwell. Give Gainwell the edge as a receiver. But Hurts doesn’t throw to RB much anyway. So very small factor.
